If you want to be close to Blacksburg, but even closer to an unspoiled natural landscape, this is the place. Our little Appalachian valley is bordered by beautiful mountains, mixed hardwood forest, and the open sky. The valley floor is a hayfield that's cut twice a year, and down the center of our little valley is a gorgeous little creek that is healthy and alive with crawfish, minnows and dace, frogs, turtles, watercress, and all the usual critters. We also see deer, turkeys, raccoons, opossum, black bears, owls, and the occasional coyote. This is primitive camping, so you'd need to packing everything in and out, including potable water. Pets are welcome on a leash.
