My husband and I camped this site with a group of friends and couldn't have asked for a better spot! We joked with the hosts that we were going to give them bad reviews so we could book it for the rest of the summer! There are 3 separate camps on this property, and we were located at the river spot - which is right on the river, as the pictures show. All of the camps are far enough apart that we could hear others, but not see the sites, unless someone was passing through or in the water nearby. The river is better for wading than swimming - the water was just high enough for us to tether a couple of tubes, and do a little fishing. There was plenty of room at the site for three tents, a central screened gazebo, and a short walk to the toilet area (a screened off bucket, not an enclosed pit toilet, just FYI). The drive down to the site from the check-in point is a beast so 4WD is a must, and when you get there, don't expect wifi. in a pinch you can go back up the hill and catch a signal there, but we just enjoyed the quiet. The hosts were super-friendly and helpful - they have a small store stocked with a few basics for sale (water, ice, snacks, etc.) and they will deliver firewood down to the site for a fee. They were looking into the possibility of getting local meats/dairy/produce at some point as well. We didn't need anything but firewood one night but great to have as an option since the closest stores are about 20 min. away. Hosts are serious about leaving the site clean, so plan to remove or burn all trash, butts, paper, pop tops, etc. All in all a lovely stay and we can't wait to go back! Oh - one more thing - the directions on GPS weren't entirely accurate for the last mile or so of the drive. GPS tells you to stop at a very low house number, but keep going on, and keep bearing right when the road forks. It will eventually dead-end into the parking lot/check-in site. Enjoy it - we did!
