This was an incredible stay, one of our favorites in the area! Robin is an amazing and very gracious host and the farm is very peaceful with lovely views and a serenity that is hard to find. We also took advantage of the breakfast that Robin served at our campsite in the most beautifully presented way, and the dinner that was very magical and unique. We also loved learning more about the area from the hosts and very much appreciated the great conversations. We highly recommend this Hipcamp and can’t wait to return!!

We were so blessed by our stay at Darby Farm. They are such caring people. They loaned us pillows and a dog leash (which we forgot). They also invited us to join them at a Polo match at the winery. Loved getting to know them and their animals. So much fun! And I decided that where they live is definitely the definition of bucolic. Lots to do in the area too.

We had a wonderful time at Robin’s farm this past weekend! Robin was the sweetest host who went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and warm by bringing us blankets and extra firewood. She was incredibly responsive, making check in and check out super easy. Her farm made for the perfect camping experience for a beginner camper like myself, and I hope to return next year!

Robin and Chuck are excellent hosts. Beautiful area with panoramic views of the mountains. Robin cooks wonderful farm to table breakfast and dinners. The environment is awesome! A must stop for anyone who wants a quiet and peaceful break.

The 2 potential RV sites aren't great: one lacks reliable electricity, and the other is directly behind the owner's house on uneven grass. This is a very small farm in a neighborhood. Several cats and kittens also wander around the yard (with lots of cat poop). If you just want a place to sleep and nothing more, this might do.
Our stay at Darby Farm was unforgettable. Nestled among Virginia’s rolling hills, it’s far more than a beautiful farm—it’s a place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and enjoy genuine country hospitality.
Chuck, Robin, and their family have created something truly special. Our son loved the animals, especially walking with the chickens and ducks, meeting the farm’s goose “security guard,” learning about the goats and horses, and cuddling the many friendly farm cats.
A highlight for me was Robin’s stunning tea and event room. Beautifully decorated with elegant silver and china, it felt like a countryside fairytale. Breakfast there was exceptional, with homemade organic blueberry pancakes and muffins. And the homemade strawberry and chocolate chip ice cream alone is worth the four-hour drive!
What truly makes Darby Farm exceptional, though, is the warmth and kindness of Robin and her family. Their genuine hospitality made us feel instantly at home. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and grateful, and we can’t recommend Darby Farm highly enough. We look forward to returning soon.

Very nice level site extremely close to all the amazing wineries in Crozet and 20 minutes from all things Charlottesville. Beautiful farm setting with friendly animals and great views. Partial shade in the site behind the house. Very quiet and peaceful at night.
Bring an extra long/second power cord if you’re needing the 30 amp connection.
Both hosts were extremely nice and accommodating. Will be back in the future!

The setting is beautiful and the farm tour was hands on.

I cannot recommend camping at Darby Farm enough. Robin and family were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure I had a wonderful stay. I loved being right in the middle of all of the animals. Speaking of which, I also highly recommend the farm tour add-on, as well as any of the meal add-ons. Robin’s daughter gave me the most wonderful, hands-on tour of the farm and meet-and-greet with the horses, goats, cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, and turkeys. And the farm-to-table dinner Robin prepared was absolutely delicious and so elegant. I can’t wait to go back to Charlottesville and stay here again!

Robin is a super gracious and welcoming host. Her home and sites are located in a beautiful part of Virginia. We arrived early and had choice of the sites. We chose the most remote and private site of the three that were available. We had a small corner of the farm back by the chickens, horses and goats. The sites are not that far apart and on the small size, but they still felt adequately private. It’s just right for a short stay. There are many wineries and tap rooms in the area, in addition to parks and hiking trails. The morning we left Robin came to say goodbye and treated us to some delicious pumpkin bread that her daughter makes and sells on her IG. Check them out at Derby Farms. Thank you, Robin. It was our pleasure.

Robin was a pleasure to do business with - friendly, helpful and available without being intrusive.
The site is located in a quiet, beautiful and spacious valley livened up just enough by the sounds of her geese, ducks, chickens and goats, with happily, no rooster.
I highly recommend it.

We loved staying here! The view was beautiful, and the kids enjoyed seeing the animals.
We absolutely loved this stay! The place is beautiful. The hosts were so welcoming and we enjoyed spending time with them. We did the dinner in their farm store and it was amazing and super special! Highly recommend! The view is so pretty and so awesome to see the animals

Great location and great host! We were going to Monticello the next day and there was even an organic food store on our way there. Robin was friendly and accommodating - and her Farm Store had lots of interesting teas, honey, and more. Tomatoes and Blue Pea Flower Kombucha were delicious.

Robin's farm is beautifully maintained. She and her family were extraordinarily welcoming and kind. Robin is very knowledgeable about local history and things to do in the area, like the polo match nearby on Sunday afternoon.
The sites were private and flat, She provided ample firewood for the small fee.
Staying there was a wonderful experience!

We stayed for 6 nights, which is usually longer than I like to be away from home, but I could have stayed a month. The location was fabulous. Robin was the perfect host. The store was a treat... the sausage was awesome! We are looking forward to returning.
Robin was amazing! The farmshop was cute as heck, and the hospitality and kindness was felt both nigjts we stayed. We are not RVers, we just camped with our SUV and tent pitched next to their (provided) fire pit, and still had a blast!

What a delightful experience! So many wonderful things to say about our first Hipcamp trip! Robin and Chuck have a beautiful eight acre farm with chickens, ducks, geese, goats horses and magnificent views of the mountains. The Sunrises and Sunsets were inspiring! Darby Farm was the ideal base camp for exploring Crozet, Skyline Drive ($30), the Blueridge Parkway (free), vineyards, orchards and the Art Depot. Lunch at Smoked Kitchen was delicious and we came back after the Blue Ridge Parkway to the Crozet Creamery for ice cream. We met some new friends from Roanake (Archie, Bill & Patricia) that joined us around the campfire while Richie played guitar and sang. Chiles orchard had Apple Cider donuts that just melted in your mouth. And the panoramic views of the mountains from Kings Family Vineyard were soul stirring. In early Fall they have Polo matches at the vineyard as well. We were able to dump our black tank at a local campground for $15. Robin brought us homemade blueberry muffins for breakfast Sunday morning and Chuck was a font of information about local hiking. He had suggested we hike up to Humpback Rocks and so we stayed an extra day, ascending Monday to a view of both the Shenandoah Valley and Rockfish Gap Valley that can only be experienced to truly appreciate. Definetly a five star experience.
We loved staying at the Darby Farm with Robin. She is so kind and helpful in every way. She has a great little shop with not only local goods but also drinks/snacks incase you need. She responds prompt to text messages and makes incredible muffins (: We loved how you can view the mountains from her property. She also has horses, goats, chickens and more. Very wonderful stay and we hope to return again soon! Thanks again Robin!

Robin and her family were wonderful and welcoming hosts! We enjoyed chatting with them and they were helpful with tips on things to do.
Our kids had a great time visiting the animals and using the rope swing. The surrounding land is beautiful and there isn't a bad view. Other campers were there but we were spread out. You can engage with them or stay private if you choose. Nice level spaces for RVs. A spigot for water hook up is available. 20 volt electrical so have an adapter and extension cord with you.
The farm store was well stocked and lovely. We took home great eggs and local meats. We would definitely recommend staying here and would return again.
