We absolutely loved this property! Beautiful views, very quiet, CLEAN and peaceful there is a gorgeous lake a short walk from camp site 1. Juan has beautiful horses on his property and they are so peaceful to watch. Water and electric hook up worked great, and our class A fit great and site was level. This location is about 1 mile off the main road we easily navigated down the dirt compacted/gravel road no issues. Again extremely quiet, just nature. Just 14 minutes to downtown Culpeper, charming downtown area, lots of shops, and diners. Walmart, Target, Martins, Lidl, and Lowes are just a few more minutes down the road. Can not recommend this camp enough, you will not be disappointed!

This place is amazing. Scenery of this place is great its like you have a whole lake by yourself. The place is private as the other sites are far enough from you. Place is flat so no issues with placing your tent. I suggest bringing a fishing rod and bait. Will definitely coming back. Highly suggested: YOU MUST READ Mr. Juan's direction in the site to avoid being lost.

Great site with rv hookups and a dump station on the way out. Our three large dogs loved walking to the lake. Paths are well signed and Juan was an excellent host. We jumped a few deer out of the corn on our walks. Lots of horses, cows and other dogs in the area add to the atmosphere.

Such a wonderful and blessed spot. It was completely private and and beautiful all around us. Our cat had the time of his life. Plenty of good fishing as well! Will definitely come back.

directions were a little tricky. I would definitely first go to the Lloyd’s address and not click on the directions within the app when driving there. My best recommendation would be to go to the Lloyds address using GPS, then once you get there, use Google maps from the location within the app and use satellite mode to navigate.
navigating for me was also made a little bit more challenging as I was towing a trailer. If I wasn’t, it would’ve been no issue doubling back.
we had a lovely time with a cool, crisp October evening and morning, quickly warming up to an enjoyable day. Also caught my personal best bass in the little farm pond on a drop shot.

The setting is lovely. Beautiful spot. Water and electric hook ups. Dump station on the way out. Fire pit. Complimentary adirondack chairs were a nice touch. No light pollution - the stars were bright and beautiful! We were able to walk the property and take in the beautiful lake views and wildlife. Juan was very responsive and so kind. It’s close to Culpeper and at the base of the mountains. The proximity to so many amazing activities was great. We truly enjoyed our time and look forward to returning. Thank you to Juan and his family for sharing their beautiful space with us for a few days!

Everything was picture perfect! This land right by the water was absolutely beautiful and each campsite is spacious. Juan answered all the questions I had about nearby activities in great timing. We love the extra options for firewood and kayaks and more. There a few houses across the water but the sites still feel private.. plus we enjoyed watching the goats play from a far. Definitely a must stay and will return spot.

We needed a base camp for our Shenandoah National Park adventure. This spot was perfect. Less than an hour from the Old Rag trailhead. About 1hr 10mins from the Thornton gap entrance. The site was right next to the lake. Super private and a great getaway! We would definitely stay again. The sunset was beautiful

Camping at Juan’s place was a delight! The area is fantastic - a great place for quiet and just enjoying the countryside. A nice place to set up, conveniently located electric hook ups, and plenty of extra hoses to reach the water hook up. A picnic table was a lovely touch to be able to sit outside in the evenings and complete some office work on my computer. My dog loved being able to roam and have plenty of space to play fetch. The hospitality? Unmatched! I arrived and shortly after a torrential downpour started. Without hesitation Juan stood in the weather to help direct me into the parking space and made sure I had everything I needed. This was my first time traveling solo and having to set up on my own - Juan certainly made the process so easy and refused to let me fend for myself in the weather! Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area!

We booked our last minute 4th of July camping trip at Juan's campsite. We stayed at the Point at Caynor Lake. This was our 3rd time car camping with our Tesla Model Y. The campsite was clean and had a good shaded area for us to hook up the MKCAMP double room tent. Our son enjoyed fishing at the lake and caught plenty of fish. Everything was perfect and we really enjoyed our stay. We will be returning to Juan's campsite again near future!

This was our second stay, and it was just as great as the first! The location is beautiful and peaceful, set on a quiet farm with a very large pond that’s perfect for kayaking. We caught bass and sunnies, which was a lot of fun. The campsite is very spacious with plenty of room for our camper and two tents. The host is incredibly friendly and offers great communication, making everything easy and welcoming. Highly recommend for anyone looking to relax and enjoy the outdoors!

It is a little too pricy for what they provide for accommodation on site. In my opinion. Needs a public restroom or at least waste water dump station and the power for trailers needs to be near the power supply so that don’t need 75ft garden hose for hook up or vise versa for power. Other than that it is a need place where to relax for a few days.

We LOVED staying at Casa Vargas! The property was well maintained and very peaceful and quiet. We ended up at the Lakeview site after a mix up with other campers (we were supposed to be on The view, which was also lovely). The Lakeview site was perfect for our little teardrop camper with plenty of space and private enough from other campers. We didn't go in the lake, but was so peaceful sitting by the fire and watching all the birds, swans, and other folks on Kayaks. The weather was perfect while we were there, but this spot doesn't have any shade, so in the heat of summer it would be good to have an extra canopy or umbrella. Juan was super attentive and kind, and ensured we had everything we needed! We also checked out Mountain Run Winery which is a beautiful property not far from Casa Vargas. We did a tasting and enjoyed the barn and surrounding property. We also heard some live music at the Far Gohn brewery, which also had excellent pizza and beer. We were close enough to the Shenandoah National Park (U.S. National ... National Park, and did a hike to Mary's Rock, so there are also a lot of adventures around. We will definitely be back!!

Water Front At Casa Vargas
We enjoyed our stay at the Casa Vargas hipcamp. Juan was very responsive and has helpful. There are 2 sites closer to the entrance, 3 sites that are right next to the lake, and one site farthest away that has gorgeous views of the fields. Most sites are have a picnic table and stone fire ring. We were the only ones on the last day and got to check out the sites close up. The point is the best one in my opinion (roomy, sun and shade, best view of the lake) and we would love to check that out next time.
We stayed at the Waterfront tent site with our dog. You can drive right up to it and it is steps from the water. It was peaceful, with sounds of birds chirping and you can see lots of wild life (all sorts of birds, butterfiles, toads, even a snake swimming by). At night the toads come out and because this site is right next to the lake, several toads were hopping all over. We had to rinse our dogs mouth out after she licked one- just a word of caution if you have a pet. Our site and the one next (the view) didn't have much shade so I'd suggest packing a canopy and grill grate if booking one of these.
The town of Culpepper is about a 15-20 minutes drive with plenty of stores and restaurants. Old House Vineyards is also a decent 20-30 minute drive and highly recommended (crystal clear pond features, gardens, good food/ beer/wine/spirits).

We had an amazing girls' trip staying on Juan’s land! There was plenty of space for our RV and two tents, and the property was beautiful, just a short walk to a peaceful pond. When we needed an extension cord, Juan kindly brought one over to us. We woke up to the sounds of birds each morning. The location is also just a short drive from some fantastic wineries. There were six of us, and we felt completely safe the entire time. Would absolutely stay here again. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality, Juan!

The Point at Caynor Lake
The point offered beautiful scenery and an abundance of space. Great trees for hammocks, a nice flat spot for your tent and a firepit are just some great features. If you're traveling to hike in Shenandoah this is a great place to call home for the night.
