Nestled on a private 65-acre farm in the Alleghany Highlands of Virginia, Beaverdam Falls is located on VA SR-311 (Kanawha Trail) in the Sweet Springs Valley. Nestled in the old community of Earlehurst, between Covington & Roanoke, Beaverdam Falls are an historic series of waterfalls on private property. The Falls are at the headwaters of Dunlap Creek and are the terminus for the Sweet Springs. Available for guest stays & recreation, are the Upper Falls portion. Surrounded by the verdant George Washington National Forest, the Upper Falls, displays a constant waterfall of around 40-feet in height, & decorates the final mile stretch of the Sweet Springs, both on our property. Additional beautiful cascades pepper our tract of Beaverdam Falls as well. This private tract of unparalleled Virginia countryside will simply astonish your expectations. As the source of the Falls, Sweet Springs Creek, serves as a long, unique home for trout, calcified travertine rock, chalybeate water, and ancient beaver dams (as well as active ones!). Beaverdam Falls is a rare place for the lack of stone and the centuries of beavers who have left their trace in & on our creek—and swamp, the Stick Marsh, which has an active beaver dam. Be careful! They do bite!

Beaverdam Falls, Top of the Rock
Simply the best!
The land is so incredibly special and so beautiful! We absolutely loved our stay and already looking forward to booking our next stay. We will certainly be back and could not recommend Beau’s place enough. You have everything you could possibly need from extra utensils for meals, firewood, extra water and even a rinse kit! You can just tell that Beau truly cares and puts a lot of energy and heart into preserving and protecting the land and all that inhabit. There is so much information in a binder when you arrive that is very interesting to look through to learn more about where you’re staying. Our stay was so comfortable to be considered camping. We had such a wonderful time, the swimming and evening walks on the property were our favorite. You feel such immense peace while you’re there and disconnecting was a treat. Endless Thank you’s Beau for everything!

Beaverdam Falls, The Cattails
I loved where the yurt was placed, away from everything and everyone. The camp is well maintained and plenty of space for pets. We took our four furry friends. It was nice to find a place where we could find supplies as well. The only thing that we had to work around was the WIFI as it did not reach the yurt.

Beaverdam Falls, The Cattails
Absolutely loved staying here! Beautiful scenery and great amenities provided with the tent. It’s a little confusing to find if you drive in in the dark, but otherwise no complaints!

Beaverdam Falls, The Cattails
I was not prepared for the stunning vista in front of the Cattails tent- the space is truly spectacular. The stars at night are vibrant and the property is full of beautiful trails to explore. Note: cell service is non existent so do what you need to be prepared!

Beaverdam Falls, Top of the Rock
Incredible mineral spring
Wow, this spot is incredible! We stayed here with our two kids and had a fantastic time. We never even left the property. We highly recommend you bring a mask and snorkel to explore this incredibly unique mineral spring. It’s a little cold, but perfect for a hot summer day. We stayed at the “top of the rock” site, and while It may seem a little overpriced for “camping” at first, this is some National-Geographic level coolness… we live 6 hours away, and we will definitely be back!
