We had a great time here and would absolutely come back. The property is spacious with lots of spots to set up, which makes it especially great for a group trip where everyone wants a bit of room to spread out.
If you’re planning to camp by the creek, 4-wheel drive is a must. The terrain is no joke, but totally worth it once you’re settled.
There are large piles of wood for use, just bring an axe or proper saw for firewood, they came in very handy for us to get pieces down to size for our jack stove.
Electric hookups were clutch during our stay. It was overcast the whole time, so our solar panels were basically useless. If your device can’t sit directly on a ledge near the outlet, bring an extension cord. You’ll thank yourself later.
Temps dropped down to 11 degrees, and we were impressed that the pump water didn’t freeze at all and tasted great. Big win for cold-weather camping.
One heads-up on site selection: the spot by the firepit and picnic table is convenient, but it’s close to the road, so keep that in mind if you’re looking for something more tucked away.
There’s no cell service for Verizon down by the creek, so plan accordingly. If you need connectivity, Starlink is the move.
Overall, a solid stay with beautiful surroundings and wildlife, and plenty of flexibility depending on how you like to camp. Just come prepared and you’ll have an awesome experience.

Lynda's land is as peaceful and pretty as it is well-located! The tent site and firepit is right next to a very pretty and quiet river and right next to a very nice field! Lynda is also a very nice host with great customer service!

This was our first time camping at Beaver Cove but hopefully not our last! The site along the river is great and the entire property is full of fun hiking trails and plenty of wildlife. A perfect weekend getaway!

Beaver cove was wonderful for my girlfriend and I. Lynda went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The lake, paddle boats, river and site just amazed us. We loved it here. Almost didn’t write a review because I don’t want everyone staying here! But cheers to Lynda, great work! The fishing was amazing btw

My husband and I had a wonderful time with our 3 dogs camping on Lynda's property for a weekend trip to Shenandoah! The dogs loved being able to run around and play off leash. We set up camp next to the creek where the fire pit was, and it was so quiet and peaceful. We did not use the electric but used the water spigot, which was just a short walk from where we set up camp. We definitely did not explore the property as much as we could have since we spent most of our time there relaxing by the fire after hiking in the national park, but it is absolutely beautiful and there is tons to explore! We hauled a pop up camper with a Ford Excursion, which worked great for us and we are used to doing this kind of thing, but I will say when Lynda says you need 4WD to get down the hill to the creek camping area she is not lying. Use your judgement. If you are not comfortable hauling something up and down a very steep hill and driving on a narrow dirt road, don't chance it. You can definitely get stuck. There is another area where you can set up camp and can still explore the property all the same! Shenandoah is just a short drive away, which makes this the perfect location. There is a road next to the property but it is a quiet back road - only a couple cars when by during our time there. We definitely recommend Lynda's property!!!

What an incredible site! You have endless space to yourself, a creek to explore, a lake with boats, flat land for your tent, a picnic table, and a fire pit. Just set up your own portable potty and you’re good to go. We didn’t find the water pump but filtered the creek water which was very convenient. Lynda was communicative and helpful. Our free-ranging dog and young son had a blast. Can’t wait to return in warmer weather for a longer stay.

Area down by the river very spacious and well-maintained. Beautiful property. Multiple spots to chose from. Walking paths mowed into the grass along the river. Road width, height clearance, and bends down to river site limit trailer length. I had a truck towing a 15ft teardrop and was fine. There is a public road along the property so there is some road noise but it dies down in the evening. Hiking paths on other parts of property.

We loved the spot!! We fly fished in the pond and caught large and small mouth bass and a couple blue gill. My daughter and I aren’t very good at fly fishing so it’s always nice to feel successful! The little peddle boat they had available was perfect and we could easily get to the cooler spots. My husband also nymph fished in the river.
As others said, there is fire wood but bring an ax to chop it up.
We only wish we had better prepared which hikes we wanted to do. We have verizon and there wasn’t any cell service, even in the small town of Washington, so we really just stuck to the camp site. No matter- now we just know for next time!

My wife and I had an amazing time camping at this Hipcamp this past weekend with our dog! Lynda was so kind, and the property was gorgeous and enormous. We took a pop up camper and set up down the property by the river. It was completely private, and is a bird watchers paradise!1 0/10 would recommend! 4WD required, as well. We are looking forward to coming back in the fall!

Beautiful and very private spot! I set up camp down by the river, and my pup and I both enjoyed wading in to cool off during a very hot weekend. Tons of space to spread out, and a nice balance between wide open meadow (perfect for my dog to run around), wooded creek bed with nice shade, and tons of perfectly spaced trees to set up a hammock. I didn't want to risk my non-4WD rental car on the road down to the camping spot after a very rainy week, but it was a very manageable 5-10 minute walk down with my gear from the top of trail. Well water was refreshingly cold on the 90-degree weekend we were there. And Lynda was a great host, very responsive and thoughtful. Would visit again!

My family of 7 loved spending Father's Day weekend at Beaver Cove! We loved the privacy due to Lynda only booking one Hipcamper reservation at a time- you have so much land to yourself! The creek area with fire pit is so peaceful and fun to explore. We got a lot of rain and several storms on our trip but still had a great time! My kids especially loved the lake area for fishing, swimming, and paddle boating/canoeing. It was a weekend with no restrooms or showers (we brought our own camping toilet) and no cell service but lots of memories. We will definitely be back! Thanks Lynda!

What an incredibly beautiful and peaceful property. Such a friendly and kind host which made us feel comfortable. Our kids enjoyed the river, lake and property grounds which were very well maintained. This was my favorite camp spot we've been to. If you don't have 4wd you will most certainly get stuck if it rains at all so keep this in mind :) if you plan to camp down by the river. We look forward to returning and making more memories :)

Such a fun property to camp on! Our kids loved playing in the creek and fishing in the pond/lake. We chose to camp in the spot by the picnic table right next to the creek - there is a road not too far from it and you can hear when a car goes by, but it wasn’t a very busy road and it didn’t bother us much. Lynda was also very accommodating and open to us camping in other areas of the property too, but we ended up choosing that spot for the picnic table and creek. It was magical going to sleep to the sound of the babbling water!

This is a really pretty piece of land. We enjoyed discovering some of the trails (starting out by walking around the lake, and following the markers from there). The spot by the picnic table, between the stream and the stone wall, is beautiful. The location is close to Shenandoah NP for day hikes.

What a place to make memories and relax! Amazing host no phone service for the kids, how It should be camping. My first time using Hipcamp the property is beautiful and secluded. Drive down to camp site is 100% 4 wheel drive maybe cause it rained the night before but I didn’t want to tear up the property so we just drove as slow as possible. There was fire wood on site to keep us warm just had to chop it up which we enjoyed. Highly recommend and will return

This place was amazing and it’s really nice. They only rent to one camper.. We will definitely come back. Our kids love the river and the pond and feeding the horses. The host is extremely nice.

We loved camping at Beaver cove. It was beautiful. Camping right on the river was so nice and the river is stunning. My kids loved walking up and down the river. We really enjoyed fishing and the paddle boat! Lynda was such a wonderful host and so kind. There is plenty of firewood just bring an ax to cut it up with. We didn’t have any service during our trip just for a heads up but it was nice to disconnect for a weekend. We loved it and will 100% be back!

Single best site on Hipcamp. Wonderful, private location by a stream. Just the right mix of natural surroundings and a few 'amenities' (i.e. picnic table and firepit already set up). Lynda is also the single best host on Hipcamp -- we really enjoyed getting to know her a bit during passing conversations. We will 100% be back.
