We loved our stay at Kookaburra camp! Our group of 6 adults (3 couples) stayed at campsite 4 and had plenty of room for our tents and a gazebo for some shade. Even though there’s an overall downwards slope in the area, the sections for the tents have been levelled out really well. The slope means you get a gorgeous sweeping view out to the east - lovely rolling hills, forest, and sunrise if you’re up early enough.
All sites were booked over new years but we still felt nicely spaced out. Just means your likely to say hello to a neighbour on your way in & out of camp or at the loos.
Can highly recommend the home brews, especially the ginger beer on a hot day!

Peaceful and beautiful
A friend and I spent two nights here and LOVED it. The communication with Dan from the moment I booked was clear and fast, we requested firewood which he helped bring to the campsite and he was extremely friendly and happy to offer some advice about things to do in the area.
The campsite itself was beautiful, fantastic views, surrounded by trees and plenty of privacy from other campers. We could hear the cars from the road nearby but there isn’t a lot of traffic so did not disrupt the serenity.
There is a flat level to pitch a tent, (definitely bring a hammer as it was challenging to get the pegs into the ground) and a fire pit ready on the level below for us to use.
Site four meant we were closest to the toilets which were clean and even came with light at night! I recommend bringing some sort of shade- we bought a beach tent to sit under for during the day as there is no protection from the sun.
Overall, we had a wonderful time here and were able to unwind in nature! Thanks for having us Dan!

I had a great stay at Kookaburra Ridge Farm Camp. Upon arrival Daniel greeted me and showed me to my site. I purchased from him a homemade blackcurrant cider (delicious) and a honey mead, which I've still to try.
The camp ground is very generous in size but to Daniel's credit he has resisted packing more sites in, so the four sites on the main block are quite far apart, which keeps the noise down and maintains privacy.
I loved the set up of the sites, with tiers cut into the hill for vans, tents and a fire pit area, stepping down the levels. Each site has a built in kitchen camp table, which I found to be an excellent feature.
The views of the other side of the valley are spectacular and seeing it illuminated by the setting sun as I prepared dinner at the camp table on night one was something special.
The well built and maintained drop-toilet block is a great amenity and there was plenty of water in the attached rainwater tank.
During my stay I took my dog for a splash around at Woodside beach, which is only 20 mins or so away and we also visited Port Albert, which is a charming little spot.
I highly recommend this site.

Supreme privacy and convenience
6 of us and a dog stayed at site 1, which provides the most privacy. We could not see or hear any other campers from our site and had our own toilet which was one of the cleanest I've seen camping. Adjacent to the toilet is a rain water tank, which is very handy for washing dishes and cleaning up. This site also provides great shading in the morning and evening. Dan was very helpful with recommendations on local places to visit and was happy to answer any questions in the lead up to the trip. We also bought some lamb which was delicious. Something to keep in mind depending on your camping set up, this campsite is not flat and is built on 3 levels which worked great for us with 3 tents. However, may slightly limit access for bigger campervans.
We have a very large dog and are always cautious of having him off leash when other dogs are around or if there are small kids, but being quite far away from other campers we could keep our dog off leash at all times with no issues, which was a huge plus for us.
Although this campsite doesn't have a river, it is only 30 min from Woodside Beach, which is one of the first along 90 mile beach. Overall, couldn't fault this camp and would happily return at the next opportunity.

Camping with a View
Our family really enjoyed camping at Kookaburra Ridge camp ground. The views were fantastic, the site was a great size, neighbouring sites were far enough away for privacy, the compost toilet was extremely clean and Dan and his family were great!
The directions to the location were easy to follow, the firewood that was supplied was more than enough, and Dans communication throughout was exactly as it should be!

Loved the site which accomadated 4 tents & most of all the loo with a view! Clean toilets. The host was welcoming & gave us the choice to choose any site we wanted, so we chose site two which had great views.

Great Stay
We loved camping here! Our two dogs loved the freedom (within reason) and space to be themselves without annoying other campers! It was very peaceful and both owners were very easy to communicate with!
Will definitely recommend if you’re after a quiet get away for you and your family/ furry friend!

Peaceful, private, pretty camping!
We had a lovely time tent camping here with our 4 year old. Generous well spaced sites, excellent composting toilet. We stayed at site 4 and the view was superb. We enjoyed our late afternoon/evenings relaxing by the fire after big days exploring Tarra Bulga. Lots of bird and frog life. We even heard koalas in the distance in the evening. Dan and Risa are great hosts - we can’t believe we forgot to sample their homebrews and ciders - next time!

Site Two - Tree Play Ground
Overall this was a nice place. Beautiful stars at night. Very secluded. Nice amenities with toilet and wood slab to cook on. Unfortunately for us, the slope of the site was too much. The firepit was fabulous but the slope made sitting near it uncomfortable. Sliding down my crash mat each night was not pleasant. I probably won't return but it might suit some people. I would guess that the slope is 15 degrees.

Perfect farm camping.
We had a great time at Kookaburra Ridge Farm Camp with our kids and caravan. We picked up some delicious meat from Dan when we arrived and he showed us to the site. The sites are huge with plenty of room, table, fire pit and wood. There were other campers around but they were so far away we didn't notice them. The toilets are a short walk away. One toilet has a great view of the valley! The sunrise view across the valley was stunning. We will be coming back with friends soon.

Absolutely stunning vista!!
Dan & Risa are amazing hosts with great communication. Anything we asked for was received well and honoured. I had read that the camp sites were to close, this definitely wasn't the case at all. Obviously they have addressed this issue. Good space and privacy but not to far if the neighbouring campers had children, which happened to be the case with us and ours kids played together.
Toilet facilities were clean and not scary lol, even had one with an amazing view. Fire wood was also abundant around the site. Thanks guys for making our family ANZAC day long weekend one to remember!! ☺️🤙🏽

Dog Friendly Spectacular Views
Car camping was a blast here, the sunrise in the morning was spectacular, we could let the dogs run free with no qualms and felt a sense of privacy even though other campers were in the area. The toilet was super clean and well maintained. We stayed at Site 3. Site 1 is on its own. Sites 2-4 are in a row but divided by trees. The drive in passes site 2 then 3 then 4. 2 seems smallest and is furthest from the toilets which are between sites 3 and 4. Site 4 has the best view of the valley but site 3 has the best view of half forest half valley. Dan was a pleasure to deal with. We had such a wonderful time and will definitely be recommending our stay!
