Our farm is located in Carrajung Lower, Central Gippsland where is 2.5 hours drive from Melbourne. As the name reveals we live on a small ridge with at least 3 pairs of Kookaburras living around our house. With a 52 acre property we run miniature Herefords and sheep to keep our land green and produce ethically raised 100% grass fed beef and lamb. Also our lovely Muscovy ducks in the orchard give us fresh eggs and we have numerous veggie garden beds and a large greenhouse! Each site has three levels. The top level is for vans and/or tents; the middle level is for tents only and the bottom level is the fire pit area. Surrounded by pine plantation and native trees, you can enjoy secluded time without neighbours except native animals and birds! What you can do around here: 30 minutes drive to Tarra Bulga National Park, Woodside Beach and Maryvale Pines MTB track. 20 minutes to Yarram for shopping and awesome coffee, also popular for Heesco murals. Outdoor swimming pool is open in summer time where you can have a hot shower. 5 minutes to Toms Cap Vineyard which has exceptional wine and incredible cuisine. Ride our new mountain bike trail (750m loop with a few jumps for all ages and abilities)

We loved our camping trip. Great set-up with the tiered design that could easily fit 4 of our tents. Site 1 was quiet, bathroom was clean, and had a variety of walking tracks branching off from it. Would recommend to any friend to stay at.

Nice and secluded
We camped in site 1 which is more secluded than the other 4 sites as we took our dogs who bark if they see other dogs. We could hear the sheep and sheep dogs but it didn't bother my dogs or us. The other 4 sites had a great view, ours was of the forest though which suits me fine. The toilet was very handy, it's an eco toilet but it didn't smell at all. We got some of Daniel's blackberry cider which was amazing, I should have got extras to bring home. The ginger beer were good too. We had 3 tents, one of which is a 9 person tent. They all fit in on the 2nd level but only just. The fire pit is on the bottom level so bear in mind what direction the smoke is going if you have all the window vents open. All in all we had a great time.

We loved the stunning views from the camp sites and waking up each morning to see a light fog across the valleys. Daniel and Risa were very friendly and accommodating hosts, only too happy to help our stay be a memorable one. The eco-syatem toilets were a bonus and also access to potable water. We loved the special moments of seeing eagles soaring overhead, something we will cherish for a long time. We also loved the opportunity to wander through the bush that surrounds the camp sites The opportunity to see the fantastic garden was a highlight and to sample some of Daniel's gingerr beer and a succulent leg of lamb which cooked superbly in our camp oven.

Highly recommend. Try the home brew
Great location with beautiful views. The owners were extremely accommodating. We enjoyed their home brew beers, ciders and mead. The honey mead was amazing warmed up sitting by the fire. (Be careful it’s bloody strong🤪) There is abundant fire wood around the property is you have your own chainsaw and permission from the owners. The sites are cut out from a hill and aren’t 100% level so you’ll still need levelling ramps. You’ll also hear a little road noise at times when logging trucks come past. Lastly the two gates to get into the property are very tight if you have a large van like us. We have a 22ft caravan and a Y62 Patrol and needed two spotters and 15 minutes of precision driving just to get through the gates without scraping. All in all it’s a beautiful spot and we’d highly recommend anyone looking for a relaxing break to consider this HipCamp gem.

Site Four - Luscious lawn
We loved our stay at Kookaburra camp! Our group of 6 adults (3 couples) stayed at campsite 4 and had plenty of room for our tents and a gazebo for some shade. Even though there’s an overall downwards slope in the area, the sections for the tents have been levelled out really well. The slope means you get a gorgeous sweeping view out to the east - lovely rolling hills, forest, and sunrise if you’re up early enough. All sites were booked over new years but we still felt nicely spaced out. Just means your likely to say hello to a neighbour on your way in & out of camp or at the loos. Can highly recommend the home brews, especially the ginger beer on a hot day!

Peaceful and beautiful
A friend and I spent two nights here and LOVED it. The communication with Dan from the moment I booked was clear and fast, we requested firewood which he helped bring to the campsite and he was extremely friendly and happy to offer some advice about things to do in the area. The campsite itself was beautiful, fantastic views, surrounded by trees and plenty of privacy from other campers. We could hear the cars from the road nearby but there isn’t a lot of traffic so did not disrupt the serenity. There is a flat level to pitch a tent, (definitely bring a hammer as it was challenging to get the pegs into the ground) and a fire pit ready on the level below for us to use. Site four meant we were closest to the toilets which were clean and even came with light at night! I recommend bringing some sort of shade- we bought a beach tent to sit under for during the day as there is no protection from the sun. Overall, we had a wonderful time here and were able to unwind in nature! Thanks for having us Dan!

I had a great stay at Kookaburra Ridge Farm Camp. Upon arrival Daniel greeted me and showed me to my site. I purchased from him a homemade blackcurrant cider (delicious) and a honey mead, which I've still to try. The camp ground is very generous in size but to Daniel's credit he has resisted packing more sites in, so the four sites on the main block are quite far apart, which keeps the noise down and maintains privacy. I loved the set up of the sites, with tiers cut into the hill for vans, tents and a fire pit area, stepping down the levels. Each site has a built in kitchen camp table, which I found to be an excellent feature. The views of the other side of the valley are spectacular and seeing it illuminated by the setting sun as I prepared dinner at the camp table on night one was something special. The well built and maintained drop-toilet block is a great amenity and there was plenty of water in the attached rainwater tank. During my stay I took my dog for a splash around at Woodside beach, which is only 20 mins or so away and we also visited Port Albert, which is a charming little spot. I highly recommend this site. Supreme privacy and convenience
6 of us and a dog stayed at site 1, which provides the most privacy. We could not see or hear any other campers from our site and had our own toilet which was one of the cleanest I've seen camping. Adjacent to the toilet is a rain water tank, which is very handy for washing dishes and cleaning up. This site also provides great shading in the morning and evening. Dan was very helpful with recommendations on local places to visit and was happy to answer any questions in the lead up to the trip. We also bought some lamb which was delicious. Something to keep in mind depending on your camping set up, this campsite is not flat and is built on 3 levels which worked great for us with 3 tents. However, may slightly limit access for bigger campervans. We have a very large dog and are always cautious of having him off leash when other dogs are around or if there are small kids, but being quite far away from other campers we could keep our dog off leash at all times with no issues, which was a huge plus for us. Although this campsite doesn't have a river, it is only 30 min from Woodside Beach, which is one of the first along 90 mile beach. Overall, couldn't fault this camp and would happily return at the next opportunity.

Camping with a View
Our family really enjoyed camping at Kookaburra Ridge camp ground. The views were fantastic, the site was a great size, neighbouring sites were far enough away for privacy, the compost toilet was extremely clean and Dan and his family were great! The directions to the location were easy to follow, the firewood that was supplied was more than enough, and Dans communication throughout was exactly as it should be!

We loved camping here! Our two dogs loved the freedom (within reason) and space to be themselves without annoying other campers! It was very peaceful and both owners were very easy to communicate with! Will definitely recommend if you’re after a quiet get away for you and your family/ furry friend!

Peaceful, private, pretty camping!
We had a lovely time tent camping here with our 4 year old. Generous well spaced sites, excellent composting toilet. We stayed at site 4 and the view was superb. We enjoyed our late afternoon/evenings relaxing by the fire after big days exploring Tarra Bulga. Lots of bird and frog life. We even heard koalas in the distance in the evening. Dan and Risa are great hosts - we can’t believe we forgot to sample their homebrews and ciders - next time!

Overall this was a nice place. Beautiful stars at night. Very secluded. Nice amenities with toilet and wood slab to cook on. Unfortunately for us, the slope of the site was too much. The firepit was fabulous but the slope made sitting near it uncomfortable. Sliding down my crash mat each night was not pleasant. I probably won't return but it might suit some people. I would guess that the slope is 15 degrees.

Perfect farm camping.
We had a great time at Kookaburra Ridge Farm Camp with our kids and caravan. We picked up some delicious meat from Dan when we arrived and he showed us to the site. The sites are huge with plenty of room, table, fire pit and wood. There were other campers around but they were so far away we didn't notice them. The toilets are a short walk away. One toilet has a great view of the valley! The sunrise view across the valley was stunning. We will be coming back with friends soon.

Absolutely stunning vista!!
Dan & Risa are amazing hosts with great communication. Anything we asked for was received well and honoured. I had read that the camp sites were to close, this definitely wasn't the case at all. Obviously they have addressed this issue. Good space and privacy but not to far if the neighbouring campers had children, which happened to be the case with us and ours kids played together. Toilet facilities were clean and not scary lol, even had one with an amazing view. Fire wood was also abundant around the site. Thanks guys for making our family ANZAC day long weekend one to remember!! ☺️🤙🏽

Dog Friendly Spectacular Views
Car camping was a blast here, the sunrise in the morning was spectacular, we could let the dogs run free with no qualms and felt a sense of privacy even though other campers were in the area. The toilet was super clean and well maintained. We stayed at Site 3. Site 1 is on its own. Sites 2-4 are in a row but divided by trees. The drive in passes site 2 then 3 then 4. 2 seems smallest and is furthest from the toilets which are between sites 3 and 4. Site 4 has the best view of the valley but site 3 has the best view of half forest half valley. Dan was a pleasure to deal with. We had such a wonderful time and will definitely be recommending our stay!
