Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home at some sites—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
A Texas Hill Country ranch with uncrowded “primitive” campsites about 8 miles from Fredericksburg and about 12 miles from Enchanted Rock. There is no running water, no electricity and no WiFi at the campsite. There is a picnic table, some chairs, a fire ring with some firewood and a portable toilet. This site is suited to tent camping, car camping and small RV "dry camping". There is relative privacy, hopefully starry nights and campfire provisions. Guests share a pasture with livestock and wildlife. Weather in all its variations is part of camping. If you are not prepared to deal with whatever the weather may be, you should consider another option. We encourage guests to research this destination before booking, carefully review our cancellation policy, and consider buying travel insurance to protect against unexpected travel disruptions. Weather conditions are not an acceptable reason for a refund or change of reservation for this campsite. Cellular service is limited here. AT&T provides a good signal in this area. HOWEVER **** SPRINT, VERIZON and T-MOBILE may have “VERY POOR” or “NONEXISTENT” cellular signals at this site. We have neighbors, and although the place is relatively large, and we don't anticipate a problem, there is no guarantee that you will not be bothered by some kind of noise. Likewise, we don’t want our neighbors bothered by any noise coming from you. People live out in the country to enjoy separation of space. Please be considerate of others and keep noise to a minimum. Observe quiet time after 9 pm and before 8 am. The country roads in this area are paved and they are excellent for walking, bicycling and driving. There are “cattle guards” in the roadways. Cattle guards are steel pipe obstacles along a road intended to prevent livestock, such as sheep and cattle from passing out of a fenced area. If you book this property you will be able to check yourself in at the property. The specific location and other check in details will be provided to you on the day of your scheduled arrival, and after housekeeping and campsite make-ready is complete. Most any car should be just fine for accessing the campsite, except in the case of very wet weather. Guests are not allowed to use firearms or fireworks on this property.

Oak Haven

Booked 1 time
Vintage trailer · Sleeps 2 · 1 bedroom · 2 beds · 1 toilet
This vintage camping trailer which in essence is just a rustic shelter to sleep in. Think of it as a weatherized box that can be used for shelter rather than using your tent. There are no utilities in this camper whatsoever. The only advantage this campsite has over bare ground is that, if you only have one or two people, you don’t have to bring your own tent unless you want to. This vintage camping trailer has no electricity, no lights, no air conditioning, no heating, no nothing, except some rudimentary provisions for sleeping. You will have to bring your own bedding, your own bedroll, or sleeping bag or whatever. No sheets or blankets or pillows are provided. There is just a bare cot and a bare “couch” that can be used for sleeping. The camper can accommodate only two people for sleeping, but the campsite can accommodate up to a total of six IF other provisions are made for sleeping, such as bringing a tent. This is essentially just an uncrowded “primitive” campsite on a ranch out in the country about 8 miles from Fredericksburg and about 12 miles from Enchanted Rock. Tiny House in the pasture

Tiny home · Sleeps 2 · 1 bedroom · 2 beds · 1 toilet
Interested in the “tiny house” concept? This one is located out in the country about 8 mi from Fredericksburg, and is best suited for the young (or at least agile). You will have to be able to climb stairs to get into the house & then climb a ladder up to the bed (see photos). Limited amenities: NO CABLE & NO Wi-Fi, but there is a TV & DVD player. There are wide open spaces, sunrises, sunsets, starry nights & a fire ring. No urban scene here, you will be sharing the property with some Longhorn cattle. This tiny house is set up in a pasture on a ranch about 8 miles outside Fredericksburg. The interior of the house is a kind of a quirky “industrial country” design. It feels pretty big for a tiny house, and is best occupied by a maximum of two people; however, really friendly people, or people with small children could bring air mattresses or otherwise provide for extra sleeping on the floor. An electric drip coffee maker with coffee and all the typical supplies is provided. An electric kettle and some tea is also provided. There is no conventional stove or oven. Cooking is available on a small table top electric grill/griddle, an electric “hot plate” and a toaster/oven, plus there is a nice size microwave. The refrigerator is a “mini fridge“, so it is limited in space, but it does have a freezer large enough for that half gallon of Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream that you may want to pick up at H-E-B. This is a nice BASIC cabin-like space, but it does NOT have all the amenities of many typical B&Bs. For example the bathroom is just a tub and shower combination. There is NO HOT TUB. There is NO CABLE TV and NO WIFI. You may be able to access the internet from this property using your cell phone as a hotspot. However, because the house has metal siding the signal is better much better outside on the porch. AT&T provides a 2-3 bar LTE signal here; HOWEVER, SPRINT, VERIZON and T-MOBILE provide very POOR OR EVEN NONEXISTENT SIGNALS at this property. If you book this property you will be able to check yourself in at the property. All the final location and check in details will be provided to you on the day of your scheduled arrival, and after housekeeping and make ready is complete.
