We're happy that we can open up our land for campers. Before booking please read the following information and site descriptions. You can enjoy wooded walking paths in the 90-acre forest and pastures, ponds and wildlife, including deer, wild hogs, hawks, owls, roadrunners, doves, cardinals, jays, woodpeckers, mockingbirds, and many other species of birds. Small mammals such as armadillos, rabbits, and squirrels are often seen, and the property is also awesome for stargazing. Please watch out for snakes, scorpions, pesky mosquitoes, chiggers and ticks. This land has been a huge blessing to us and we hope you will enjoy your stay here. Arrival time should be no later than 9pm. Please inquire before booking if your arrival time might be later. Site#1 is located in a clearing of trees and overlooks our small pond. There is a stone fire ring and picnic table. Two toilets for all campsites are near the farmhouse/Shed. Approx walking distance to toilets 380 yds. You can find more details in the camp listing. Important: Arrival time should be no later than 9pm. Thank you for checking out Sandy Ridge Camping. (See google maps Sandy Ridge Pecans). We have six primitive camping spots providing privacy and serenity.  All sites have a fire ring and picnic table. Site #2 has an open area that is surrounded by forest, which gives privacy and windbreak on windy days. Important: Arrival time should be no later than 9pm. Please inquire before booking if your arrival time might be later. Thank you. Running water and flushing toilet are near the farmhouse/greenhouse. Please bring potable water and be prepared to take away all your trash. Please make special note that the only toilet is near the farmhouse/greenhouse.  The campsites are in proximity to an operational pecan nursery with two families residing on the property. You can enjoy wooded walking paths in the 80 acre forest and pastures, ponds and wildlife, including deer, wild hogs, hawks, owls, roadrunners, cardinals, jays, woodpeckers, mockingbirds and many other species of birds. Small mammals such as armadillos, rabbits, and squirrels are often seen, and the property is also awesome for star gazing. Please watch out for snakes, scorpions , pesky mosquitoes and ticks. No guns/hunting, vehicle off roading or ATV's allowed. Four campers are included in the listed price, but if you have a larger group, just let us know. There is an additional fee of $5 per person per night for more than 4 campers (over the age of 7). There are no lights at the sites and it gets dark earlier than you think. No arrivals after 9 pm. Check in after 1:30pm; Check Out before 11am. Important NOTES:  A. With COVID-19 Hipcampers are responsible to bring their own toilet paper, soap or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. We will disinfect the flushable toilet twice daily. (Hand sanitizer provided by flush toilet.) B. Approx walking distance to toilet from Site #2 400 yds, C. Quiet hours are 10pm to 6am. Please respect our neighbors, fellow campers and enjoy nature's night noises. D. Visiting the pond area: All visitors/campers can visit the pond. Parking available by the game feeder (do not drive down the hill).!! Please respect the privacy of camp site #1 and #4 area.  E. Depending on rainfall during the wettest winter/spring months, Site #2, #3 and #5 might be only available to campers with 4WD vehicles.

What a peaceful and well-equipped site! Host provided detailed instructions, and we received a warm welcome upon arrival. We stayed at Site 1 and enjoyed the pond in the morning and the fireflies in the evening. The grounds included a bathhouse complete with sink, toilet and shower (with hot water). Location is convenient to the Canton Fairgrounds (which is the purpose of our visit), and we found the site provided the extra benefit and contrast being in nature without the hustle and bustle of the festivities and crowds.

This is a beautiful campsite! Campsite 1 has an amazing view of the large pond and is a huge site. Ingrid was a lovely person who was very sweet and accommodating. I highly recommend this campsite!

Moved to Site #1 at Ingrid's recommendation. It is a lovely, peaceful property and Site 1 was perfect. Large flat meadow overlooking a pond. Picnic table and fire ring. Lots of dry fire wood to collect nearby. Pleasant walking trails Wild flowers starting to appear. Boundered by trees for privacy but lots if open dark sky for stargazing. Flush toilet & shower are a bonus but be prepared to drive or for a long walk. Overall, a place I'd be happy to return to for a quiet getaway or with kids.

My family loved camping at site 1. Near the pond and hiking trails with easy access to the toilet and shower. Waking up each morning on the hill looking down on the pond was worth it alone. Hiking around the property was really nice and easy to follow the trails. We saw a few deer and enjoyed the flowing creek. Absolutely would stay again. It was everything you could ask for in a camp site and more.

One of the nice things about this location is how well maintained each site is maintained and the inclusion of essential group camp elements such as a fire pit, seating, and onsite bathroom facilities.

Ingrid met us at the entrance and was very welcoming. She took us to our site and then let us enjoy their property. Site 3 is very secluded. You will feel very much alone if that is what you are seeking. Buy some pecans also. Good value and great tasting.

We loved our stay here! The campsite was very private and spacious and easy to get to. Great location close to yesterland farm and first Monday trade days too. And the bathroom is super clean and much better than any other campsite I’ve stayed at. Highly recommend!

I loved tent camping on Cody & Ingrid’s land! Ingrid was kind enough to take me right to my site upon arrival. It was a lovely area with a picnic table, fire pit, and trees on one side. Tall grass in the meadow on the other side provided lots of privacy. Trails through the property were fun to explore. The hot shower and restroom were clean and a nice touch. Ingrid was nice to visit with, and their pecans are delicious! I can’t wait to return.

Lovely large space to explore and relax. We had a wonderful time at Site 1. The bathroom is about a five minute walk from there, which isn’t too bad, and it was really clean! We would stay again and stay longer if we could.

Cody and Ingrid‘s property was absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, my stay got rained out on the first day and I wasn’t able to keep my booking. BUT!… Ingrid was extremely helpful and hospitable. My phone got drenched in the downpour and stopped working. They made me feel very welcome in their home while I borrowed their phone to call family and make other arrangements. I could really feel that they wanted to make sure I was OK. Absolutely wonderful family. I will definitely be booking them again in the future (fingers crossed the weather is more in my favor next time!)

Ingrid was awesome, very friendly and the campsites were all very private. We stayed in spot #2 and it was really nice! You can also purchase pecans and farm fresh eggs if you want! We bought some pecans and they were great! I would definitely go back! Thanks again Ingrid!

Magical. Delightful and rejuvenating energy from the land and owners. Camped at sight #1 I highly recommend. Single solo camper and her dog gives ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We can’t wait for the next!

Ingrid and Cody are very gracious hosts, and their property is lovely. Note that we actually ended up in Site 4 due to someone else cancelling. Spots are large and well spaced, so it feels really private and secluded. They have a few outhouse style bathrooms (one with a shower). It's worth buying some fresh pecans while you are there to bring home. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay here again if we are in the area.

I would highly recommend Sandy Ridge Camping to anyone traveling on Interstate 20 between Dallas, TX and Shreveport, LA. Ingrid and Cody's property is stunning and the campsite area is expansive and private. It was the perfect place to post up and relax after a long day of driving. The evening light pouring through the leaves was beautiful. I would definitely camp here again when passing through the area. Conditions: It was a pleasantly warm night with a light breeze. No wind gusts thanks to the trees that surrounded the site and next to no mosquitos outside of the hour of dusk as expected. Camping style: Toyota Tacoma with a GFC (Rooftop tent) Thank you Ingrid and Cody for being such great Hipcamp Hosts!
