We absolutely loved the dome! It was so private and serene. Beautiful views of the sunset in the evening and deer passing by in the morning. The dome itself was clean, well designed, and well appointed (down to the airfryer and adjustable desk with a monitor!). The bed was really comfortable with no shortage of linens and the A/C was nice an powerful! It was a very short drive from Llano, close to Enchanted Rock, and just far enough from Austin to feel like a true getaway. Hands-down an amazing experience!

Unique glamping experience, beautifully located with exceptional peace a quite. Facilities are clean, and kept to high standards. Nearby Llano is a welcoming city with historical attractions, also several of the Texas State Parks that are unique and worth visiting. Star gazing was amazing!

I love my stay at the dome it was extremely relaxing and peaceful. It was such a restful place. Giving the nice feeling of being in the middle of nature but only 15mins from a town that had everything I needed. The dome itself was wonderful with the view from the bedroom to a full bathroom and fast wifi. I spent my whole time at the dome getting a few days of R&R after a deployment and left feeling fully recovered and at peace.

The dome at North Star Cove was absolute perfection!!
Our family (my husband & our 2 daughters) had an absolute blast and enjoyed getting away & immersing ourselves in nature!
The fold out couch in the living room worked great for our 2 elementary aged kids.
Plenty of linens and blankets and pillows.
The bathroom and shower & kitchen were very nice! Air conditioners worked very well, and there’s a standing fan as well.
We built a campfire, stargazed, played horseshoes, made s'mores, used the tree swing, and just had an AMAZING time together as a family!
The outhouse bathroom was in great condition as well.
The town of Llano was SO cute! We enjoyed the famous Cooper’s BBQ. The drive alone to North Star Cove was just simply gorgeous!
We definitely want to return one day, and we highly recommend North Star Cove to anyone wanting to unplug and get away either as a couple or as a family!!! The Llano hill country is good for the soul!

The dome at North Star Ranch was incredible. The land is beautifully maintained, the dome has all the creature comforts you may want, and the night sky is breathtaking. 12 out of 10 recommended staying here!

my partner and I's trip to the north star cove dome was exceptional. Rather difficult to find the location at night so try your best to arrive during day time hours. Joel was an excellent communicator and provided us with a gorgeous, secluded, and serene space to unwind and enjoy each other in. Everything was very clean and cozy. Truly such a fun experience and easily accessible for folks in san antonio/austin! Would absolutely reccomend!
P.S. I also left a sentimental teddy bear behind at the Dome and Joel was kind enough to ship him back to me! Very kind host.

Joel’s land was gorgeous! We were able to see some wildlife, have a campfire, and most importantly for me.. get to watch all the stars. It was great to relax under the stars and get away from all the distractions of the world. It was truly a starry trance, and it was the best peaceful getaway anyone could ask for. Very private & quiet! Definitely book with Joel. You won’t regret it!! 🤩

Wonderful spot and the most responsive, helpful and accommodating host in Joel. To be fair we had the site to ourselves and spring flowers and sunset amazing! The warm open air shower is really welcome and very nicely done, lovely clean proper toilet too! We had the use of open pit fire, picnic table and BBQ, all luxurious when you are bringing out your camping gear from London UK. Very well located for some key small towns to visit around you. Would recommend.

This campsite wasn’t what we expected. I don’t know if it was because of the situation (day of the eclipse) or if it was normal. There were a lot of people camped there - not at all “private”. Ended up waiting more than 2 hours to get into the campsite we had booked, even with the host on-site. No flush toilets (portapotty), no showers, no water at all. Apparently, their water tank ran dry - and the refill truck the host promised never showed up. (Luckily, we had some water with us.) Surprised at the amount of road noise, especially at night - it overpowered the sounds of nature around us. Tom was a really friendly, nice guy that wanted everyone to have a good stay. But overall, North Cove didn’t live up to our expectations.

Great spot located atop a hill with a nice view. Great amenities like a flush toilet and outdoor shower. Unfortunately we arrived at the start of a thunderstorm and had to pack up the tent and leave pre-dawn before the high winds got to us. But would have loved to stayed longer and would recommend this spit to anyone! Also Joel was very responsive to my inquiries when I got there! Thank you!!

I was easy to find campsite #3 has an excellent view of the setting Sun and the north valley. Bathroom and outdoor shower were clean. I enjoyed talking to Joel about his plans to take the property to the next level. Definitely will stay there again.

Nice setting. I camped up on the hill in the shade of a beautiful oak tree. Tent or awning stakes go in easy! Joel was helpful and gave me a refund when I left a day early.

Joel's property is an elevated paradise. I happened to camp during the eclipse in April 2024. Besides this once in a lifetime solar event, warm weather camping came with a sky filled with stars, horizon views and an explosion of wildflowers like something out of a movie.
What really stuck out to me was that there were no mosquitoes yet the property was buzzing with birds and felt so alive.
You owe it to yourself to check this place out.

Joel the host is amazing, we went during Eclipse 2024. This property is in beautiful hill country. There is only one dome to grab so get it quick. Joel was very attentive to all his guest. He had extra firewood, made sure all guest had eclipse glasses. Saw his shovel being passed around to the tent campers. He owns an electric F150, so there is a charging station on property too! He’s a fun guy to have laughs with at the fire pit.
The Dome is a must stay especially if you want the comforts of sleeping under the stars with all the comforts of being home in your own comfy bed. I mean having a/c in this Texas heat and including WiFi. The perfect get away for a couples retreat, or girls weekend like we did. Easy access to day trips for hiking, Llano river and restaurants. Let’s not forget Fredericksburg for your wine at the campfire. You want to see our beautiful Texas wild flowers in springtime or every star in the sky this is 5🌟

We absolutely loved our stay at North Star Cove! The dome was a super unique place and definitely a very comfortable glamping experience. The property is huge which makes you feel like you’re the only ones out there - AND the dome sits up on a hill overlooking the TX hill country. There is a giant bay window right in front of the bed and it was super nice to look out in the morning/stargaze at night. Plus the bed is king sized + super comfortable which is very much appreciated.
We planned on visiting some nearby attractions but ended up spending most of our time unwinding at the dome! Joel was a wonderful host and very attentive during the whole booking process. It was a very much needed staycation and we will 100% be staying here again.

Joel, not only a great guy, has a great piece of Texas for anyone looking for a quiet stay. Nice campsites with easy fire pits and plenty of space. The shower and bathroom are very nice, definitely the cherry on top.

Excellent hospitality and communication with Joel! The site has stunning views!! Sunsets! And breath taking beautiful stars at night! Clean bathroom, large outdoor hot shower, and fast WiFi was the chef’s kiss! Joel’s place is a slice of heaven to relax and enjoy the land, I felt extra safe with the gated entry, and it’s close to Enchanted Rock Park. Loved it!!

We loved our stay. The site is private and beautiful. The bathroom is clean and nice. The outdoor shower (with hot water) was a plus. Stargazing was phenomenal.
There's not a ton to do at the site, but there are a few state parks in the area. We drove an hour to Colorado Bend State Park to see Gorman Falls.
I like to camp to escape so this was perfect.

The campsite feels remote but still easily accessible, and the amenities were clean, new, and felt very intentionally built. It's also really close to Enchanted Rock State Park. The host was also very helpful and quick to respond to questions.

Joel's spot is so lovely. Quiet and beautiful views! There are a lot of stickers to get stuck in dog paw and shoes, but that's Llano for you! Bring booties and roll with it. Joel happened to be onsite and gave me a tour of the dome-in-progress. Super cool. Will def return, maybe with some non-camping friends when the dome is ready.
