La Casita was wonderfully quiet and private, in absolutely beautiful land, and a real treat as we were chasing utter escape from the city. The coffee was a great touch, the bed was super comfortable, and the outdoor space with bonfire and hammock chair really made our stay dreamy!

Stela was a great host, making sure we had what we needed. The land was breathtakingly beautiful. It truly is off the beaten path, so make sure to have directions saved and get there before nightfall.

We enjoyed our stay at the casita. Getting to build a fire, soak in an outside bath, and go on a nice hike, it was a great and relaxing get away! We did get stuck there because the creek filled up from a heavy rain storm, but the host was kind to accomodate for another night. I would definitely return to this adorable casita!

Wonderful experience camping at Ocotillo Flats, site was secluded and the vistas were breathtaking. The location is between Marfa and Terlingua so easy drive to either. Having the guest house facilities available was a big plus as well. I would highly recommend this place and look forward to a return visit , The hosts were wonderful and provided us with any last minute info as well as ice too !!!

Stela was an amazing host! The Ranch is located in a pretty remote location but her directions were very clear. She e even provided several pictures of the property to help with directions. The casita itself was adorable! The perfect size inside and perfect space outside. There were adorable string lights hung up and and a small fire pit and grill. They even set up a little morning coffee station in the casita. Overall, the experience was lovely. The ranch is beautiful and we felt very safe. Would 100% recommend Los Alamos Ranch and Stela to anyone looking for a fun getaway!

Stela was a great host. We camped in Big Bend and decided to check out Marfa on our way back. We took the scenic drive along Highway 170 and up the dirt roads of Casa Piedra. Highway 170 had some amazing views. Stela was out of town but she responded quickly and made sure we were taken care of. The Casita Blanca was a chill little spot and well maintained.

The road less traveled will take you to places that are remote, natural and raw. Our site was definitely the best place to experience all of these things. Beautiful sunrise/sunsets and stairs can all be found in this little corner of the Big Bend State Park Ranch. The site is very private with plenty of places to explore. Stela is such a wonderful host and at the time of our visit during high winds, allowed us the use of her comfortable guest house to cook and enjoy her meal. Showers and bathrooms are clean and well
stocked with toiletries when spending the day hiking in the desert. We want to come back and explore more of the region and this site is a great base camp.

Stela and Vince were excellent hosts. Our dogs and ourselves felt safe and comfortable. Amazing views and great fire pit with a case of wine definitely made the trip nice and warm. Heavier duty tires are recommended, but we got around just fine in a VW Tiguan with all weather tires. Just have to drive slower on the gravel/rocks. Texas desert terrain can be brutal if you’re not careful. Will definitely be back!

Box Canyon View's Camp site was very nice and secluded! We felt comfortable and safe in this location. site offered Fire ring and plenty of space to spread out. Spent the evening watching the Stars and even saw a couple "Falling Stars". Site is ideal for "Drive up Back Country camping" however the use of hot showers nearby at main property is extremely nice! We did not get a chance to use it but the Common areas/ outdoor kitchen with wifi for anyone needing to connect is a nice feature! We spent our morning taking a nice walk up to the Box Canyon. Sunset and Sunrise were perfect!

Stela and family were wonderful - would recommend and felt very safe in the casita. We loved it.
Find the place during the day - night can be a little intimidating on the dirt roads!

Stela and Vince were awesome hosts! We booked our travel arrangements very last minute with a large group of 25 and they made special accommodations for us. We loved exploring their 800+ acres, saw tons of wildlife and learned about some of the history of the area. Would definitely recommend Los Alamos and we will definitely be back!

I brought in a small group on our way to the State Park.
What a GEM of a camping spot. Stela and Vince were fantastic hosts, going out of their way to make our stay fun, pleasant and comfortable! Vince allowed us to explore their land in our vehicles to find a perfect camp spot on a windy night. We ended up back in the main area with protection from the strong wind.
2 days later, when the weather became colder with 20 mph winds, we contacted Stela and she opened up her gate and property to us, even though she had just booked a large group. Not only that, she brought out the new super comfy blankets for us to enjoy and use.
All I can say is after 25 years in the hospitality industry, it's nice to see people with the passion for guest service and comfort still out there making a difference.
Go Visit Los Alamos, you'll come back with a TON of good memories.

Alison, Ruth and myself had a wonderful time. The property that the casita is on is beautiful and full of wild life. It was a full moon which made it even more special. Stella was super accommodating and the casita had everything we needed. We would definitely come back.

Firstly Stela is such a sweet heart and a great communicator! La Casita Blanca was absolutely a great stay. Upon arrival Stela was very good at reminding us to download and save directions to the ranch as there is no cell service out there. We found the place with little problems :) The casita is adorable, homey, and just what you want after a long drive. Chris and I were very warm as it got pretty chilly at night. There was a floor heater provided for us in the casita which definitely was a plus! The guest house which holds the bathroom is a short walk from the casita, was not a problem at all. We took advantage of the dry creek bed hiking trail Stela recommended and watched the sunset while making a fire. The views from the property were incredible and would love to return!

Ocotillo Flats
If you’re looking for a remote camping experience away from all the tourists, then this is your place. Spectacular panarmic views of desert landscapes, jaw-dropping sunsets, and soft sounds of the natural world make this place a gem of spot! The hosts are very accomidating as well and communicate in a timely manner. It was also a plus having access to a hot shower and restroom (1 mile away). Highly recommended!

I organize and lead a group of overlanding enthusiasts, and we recently embarked on a trip into the area. We needed a campsite that would offer us the exclusivity that organized campgrounds could not provide, while also providing us with some amenities that we definitely could not find in primitive campsites (such as in the nearby state park).
From the very beginning of my initial inquiry to the drive home, the communication with our hosts was welcome and timely. Stela and her family were committed to making our stay comfortable and worry-free. Despite her being on a family vacation herself (and several states away), she checked in frequently with us, and had her neighbors (Kent and Elise--great people!) available on site for us.
Because of the steady and constant rain during our trip, we did not make it out to the Ocotillo Flats campsite but instead camped out around the outdoor kitchen area. The large covered facility was ideal for our group, and the rain didn't limit our fun one bit!
We left with clear intentions to return in the future, with our group even discussing the possibility of making this an annual event. We will definitely be back.

If you are looking for a place to stay near Big Bend State Park or Marfa don't look any further, book your stay at Los Alamos. Stela and Vince make you feel part of their family. La Casita is equipt for a magical night and take advantage to also take a dip in the tub!!! I can not wait til am able to go back. Thank you Stela and Vince for a warm dinner after a long day.
