So far my favorite tent camping spot within 2 hours of San Antonio, TX.
Keep in mind this is a remote location. Don't expect to plug in an address into your phone and follow the route - there is no cell service/phone GPS, but Fritz's written instructions and maps are enough to get you there. Plan ahead of time and you shouldn't have any problems. There are several shallow rivers that you must cross to get to the campsite. I would recommend an SUV, truck, or cross trekking vehicle; we took a Subaru Outback and had no issues whatsoever.
The campsite is amazing. It's perched right next to the water, with a fire pit and plenty of flat ground to place a large tent. Beautiful views, and there is a canoe to take on the water. There is no light pollution, and it was silent at nighttime. It is the perfect place to relax, unplug, and unwind.
There is no running water, electricity, or bathrooms, so plan accordingly. My wife, dog, and I loved how remote/quiet this place was. Our only regret is not staying more than one night!
