Perfect spot for stargazing and scary stories.

We had a great time in Terlingua and Big Bend. The camp was clean and quiet. A little full the first night but cleared out a little day by day. By the last night there were only three groups including ours. The kids and I are really looking forward to getting back soon.

Site was as advertised. Convenient location in Terlingua with ease of access to the park and local businesses. However, long waits for the single shower unit and all three carts used for transporting gear to site had the wheels broken off of them. Difficult to tell if we could start a campfire or not. "Burn ban in effect" sign appeared to be permanently screwed on the fence, so not sure if it was accurate or not because multiple people had campfires. It had also been raining for 3 days. Also could not locate running water and no onsite dumpster and had to pack out trash.

So this is right off the Terlingua ghost town road. You’ll hear and see cars till late in the night .. there is no quiet if that’s what you are looking for in camping here. You’re right off the road .. First night there were people playing LOUD songs till 3am. Next nights were quiet but all because those people left , not because the host is monitoring it .
Two toilets , no sink.. hand sanitizers available inside toilets . Toilet papers always stocked .
Shower :: 1 !! For the whole camping area and no matter what time in the day it’s always occupied cause there is just 1!! So don’t come expecting showers even if you stay long .
No water spigot anywhere to be found , so no water access outside of you getting lucky to get into the shower, but there is a line outside
Cars have to park in parking and you have to lug your stuff down to the campground , which I expected , but the rest was a bit more primitive than what we paid for .
So all in all, it’s primitive camping that you’re paying 50 or so bucks a night for ..
It is right in the middle of Terlingua ghost town, so for someone who wants to be in the middle of the action, this is great.. for someone looking to “camp under the stars” , no way.

Colton and Molly were excellent hosts and greeted us with much-appreciated bathroom and wifi codes. It’s so insanely convenient to waltz back to camp after a night at the starlight theatre. Plus, Espresso y poco mas is at arms’ length for breakfast. I was worried that the spot would be noisy or feel exposed, especially having spent the previous night backcountry camping in the Chisos. But it was super quiet and chill, except for a few coyote howls in the distance. The bathrooms are clean and the shower is hot. I will definitely stay here again. I’m hoping to see a restoration of that beautiful bar in the main building.

Excellent campsite just steps away from historic Terilingua ghost town! Beautiful views! Only small issue is limited bathrooms/showers, but was never a major problem to wait for other guests to use!

The campground is in a good location with plenty of amenities around. We used it as a launch point for Big Bend (as most seem to be doing).
The camp host is very nice, quick to respond, and very helpful.

Camping here was great! Clean, nicer than expected shower. Short walk to Starlight Theatre and the rest of town. We will definitely be back!

Can walk to the starlight for evening entertainment and next door to a cafe for breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Very cool place to stay. Stay more than one night to soak up the stars, the locals, and tours.
If you are a rock lover, they are amazing to pick up and touch.

The site is in a fabulous location—you can’t find a better tent site in Terlingua than this! Terlingua is great and this site made it easy to explore the town. The bathrooms and shared community space are great amenities, but sites are close to the road and not terribly private.
My site was occupied when I arrived, but the hosts helped me via text find a different one. Neighbors in the site were friendly.

Colton was helpful, quick to respond, and text right away when asked a question. The bathrooms and shower were clean and very well maintained. I would definitely come back to stay here. The sites aren’t private but people were respectful and it was a great use of space and layout.

It was generally alright. The GPS coordinates were very far off from the correct location so you'd be better off putting Terlingua Ghost Town in the navigation app and find it near Espresso u Poco mas (which I highly recommend) Also the bathrooms have no lights but other than those qualms it was a nice well kept location. Remember to ask for the bathroom and wifi codes before you don't have a signal

Had no idea what to expect and Boathouse was perfect! Great location for our adventures. Felt safe, had bathroom and shower close and made some great memories.

The camp was centrally located. The camp sites were clean and level. The bathrooms and shower were clean and well maintained. It looked like they were making improvements to the property, so I look forward to coming back to see what they have done. Colton was super friendly when I arrived and sent me directions to the camp before my trip. Zero complaints and would absolutely camp there again.

Colton was an absolutely amazing host. Extremely accommodating and helpful, quick to respond to my texts, came out to help us find the campsite, offered us a wagon to take our things to our campsite, showed us where the bathroom and shower were, and gave us the wifi password.
The site was easy to get to, close to all the nearby hotspots (Big Bend, Starlight theatre, Cottonwood general store, Alon gas station, Big Bend River Tours, etc.), and it was well maintained. Clean, well-stocked bathrooms, and clean shower.
I will definitely stay here again. We even made a friend with a neighborhood pup that roamed around looking for handouts!
We felt safe and never worried about leaving our belongings behind while we hiked in Big Bend. Loved it!!
