Hideout Ridge

Beautiful and private! We stayed at camp site #4 because we read it was the most private our of all of them. With that though, it was the farthest from the bath house and a bit of a hike to get there (about 6-7 min walk), so we just drove if we really had to go or when it got dark and cold at night. We wished we could have stayed longer to explore the hiking paths and will definitely be back!

A Realm of Tranquility

The entire grounds was a haven for us. My granddaughter & I came for the weekend and camped at site 4, which we loved! We hiked 1.6 miles and still didn’t get to explore all the trails. It was serene, quiet and I felt safe. We could hear cows, cocks & a train in the distance. The road to the campsites felt like you are going through a maze with the tall, bordered grass. We are so grateful that Allison has opened up her land to let us enjoy a wonderful getaway. We will be coming back for a treehouse stay in the spring, hopefully we’ll get a chance to paddleboat since it was filled with muddy water. That was what attracted me to the hideout with a little one. But our main reason for getting out to that area was to visit a state park which was full so this was the perfect & better place to stay. The bathhouse!!! Oh, the beautiful bathhouse! Even my 7 year old was fascinated by the visual elements… now I want one just like it!

Awesome little oasis! A quick weekend get away was not enough! Plus the restrooms were beautiful, clean and a great plus. We were what it seemed like away from it all but still had a cell signal. There was so much to do, trails, beautiful pond, horse shoe, geocache and more! 5/5 stars and more.

Site 2 - Hideout Ridge

Had a great time at Allison’s property! We were at tent #2 it was very spacious for the both of us and our dog! The bathhouse was decorated beautiful and super clean as well. The trails and pond were nice, she even had a fun geocache game which was super fun at night! Would come here again 100%!

The cabins are exactly what you see online. Super cute! The problem we ran into is only having one bathroom available. There was a group of campers that took up the bathroom the majority of our stay. Also, the showers have no hot water in the afternoon. We tried multiple times when we could get into the bathroom and had no hot water. The other small complaint we had was online it said that a bundle of wood per night would be provided but none were left. Another camper in the area was also wondering about the firewood.

Great camping spot, this is our second time to rent site 3 & 4 but the distance to the bathroom is pretty far. Having a bathroom in the back of the property would be awesome.

Magnificent place! Secluded and quiet. Lots of trails to walk and find interesting things. Don’t be like me and forget to bring food and a way to cook it if there’s a burn ban because the stores are not exactly a 5 minute trip. We will be back without a doubt!

Site 2 - Hideout Ridge

Great place to camp! Clean, private and perfect for my roof tent. Plenty of room and surrounded by trees! Bathroom was very cute, a little further than I like but the trails are a nice walk. Definitely will come back and bring some friends!

Stayed in RV #1. Great level spot with fire pit and picnic table. Bathhouse was a super short walk away which was a nice surprise. Allison and her family were very welcoming. River, their dog, always greeted you with excitement when you left the bathhouse. The property has a nice 1 mile trail with a little pond and some good trails. Definitely would stay here again. The tiny house bungalows looked very cute as well. If you are car camping or have a rooftop tent most of the tent sites would technically work as well.

Beautiful site, directions were easy to follow and everything is marked. Bath house is super pretty, and we loved being able to get firewood easily on the property. Lovely trip and booking from start to finish, can't wait to return with my family!

Site #4 is the most secluded spot and its next to the pond which makes for a really great spot to camp. The whole property is peaceful but I think the real gem is the cedar bath house. After a few days of roughing it, it was really nice to take a good shower before heading home.

I had an amazing time at tent site #4. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and very serene. I saw lots of butterflies and rabbits. I felt extremely safe as a solo female camper. I highly recommend this property and the camping experience it provides. Also, about 20 minutes out is a wonderful sandwich shop, The Garden of Eating.

We LOVED this campsite everything was so well kept and neat. Site #3 where we stayed had so much space for us. We enjoyed walking along the trails and going down to the pond. We were the only ones there with all the peace and quiet. The restrooms are a bit far from the campsite but the walk is nice. Allison was great and was there if we needed her.

I've been meaning to visit Hideout Ridge for months and finally had a chance to enjoy it this past weekend. Our experience met all expectations and more! Hideout Ridge originally caught my eye for a few reasons: 1) spacious camping sites/more private (compared to a state park), 2) close proximity to DFW, 3) presence of nice/clean shower and bathroom, and 4) ability to enjoy being in nature via trails, water, etc. We arrived mid afternoon and were greeted by Allison and her husband who were extremely friendly and helpful. The property is well kept, our site was clean and perfect for our setup, the bathroom/shower was impressive, and being able to walk the trails/enjoy the pond was icing on the cake. We will definitely be back soon!
