Beautiful views from every vantage with a high field on one half of the property and a low bottom land near the creek where there are many options for a relaxing, private stay. Chose big sky or a more secluded spot. Incredible wildflowers on display in the spring. The property is not bordered by close neighbors or dense housing, just more land so sunsets and rises are wonderful and open. Low ambient light pollution at night means the stars are very bright (and so are the fireflies)! Guests are required to communicate estimated time of arrival well in advance. When arriving, make sure to meet Aaron or a designate at the red gate before entering further into the property. If tent camping, please do not bring glass containers, also you must pack out all garbage and waste. Inquire ahead of time to see if firewood is available to be gathered on site, or if you will need to bring your own. No uninvited guests without 24 hour prior approval, and additional guest fees paid. Also please no more than one dog per site.

We have a Black Series HQ19T available for rent at our site. These are very popular, (but hard to find fully off road capable RV’s) The HQ19T includes beds for 5-6 campers, a shower, indoor and outdoor kitchens, a small fridge. An awning and outdoor lighting are standard with this rental, as are an indoor/outdoor sound system and outdoor fire pit. If you want a really stellar private camping experience in one of the coolest RV’s around, look no further. Power and propane provided, ( electricity supplied via a small quiet generator). Firefly ranch is a must do! Amazing host! Beautiful land to camp on, plenty of privacy, great campfire pits, plenty of wildlife, no light pollution, and say hello to the amazing dogs out there! 😊 We are looking to come back when the fireflies are in season! 😊

Site 1 - Firefly Ranch
Easy to get to from Katy, Tx. Quiet and nice. There were two other groups at other sites on the property but all the sites are so spread out we never saw anyone else. We had 3 dogs and didn’t have any problems. The campsite was equipped with firewood and a SoloStove which worked wonderfully.

Site 4 - Firefly Ranch
The setting was the exact rustic-clean, quiet and beautiful nature recharge I needed. We loved taking walks on the freshly wowed path, identifying some cool wildflowers and watching the twinkling of the fireflies at night. They have done a great job providing a spot for the insects and animals the opportunity to thrive.

The place was really clean. The accommodations were pretty good. There was a lot of space. You could see a lot of fireflies. Very quiet. And the host was really good at communication. I would go back for sure!

The lower area sites felt very private. The stars were great and we even had some fireflies early in the season. Great firepit as well! Thanks to Aaron for the hospitality!

The most perfect camping getaway we could’ve imagined. It was so great! The host met us at the entrance and gave us a tour of the property, then showed us to our secluded tent spot with a fire pit. We will be coming back for sure!

My two kids and I had a great time at the Firefly Ranch! The kids loved hearing all the coyotes and owls all night. Even though it wasn’t the season they saw their first firefly as well.

We had a great trip and found that Firefly Ranch is aptly named. We loved the camp spot surrounded by wildflowers. The hosts were so gracious and we felt welcome We hope to make an annual trip to the ranch during wildflower season. The drive to the ranch is easy and beautiful. A great choice.

The drive in and out of this place in the springtime is absolutely beautiful. Wildflowers for days. The property is peaceful and secluded. We saw Aaron briefly when we arrived but otherwise never saw another person the whole trip. Aaron has a great fire pit to use and there was plenty of fallen wood to gather for a fire. But nighttime… I’ve never seen so many fireflies in my entire life! It was like a magical light show that went on all night long. We were serenaded all night by frogs and bugs and even coyotes off in the distance. This place was perfect for my boyfriend and I, but I can’t wait to come back with my kids as I’m sure they’ll love it as well!

Beautiful campsite with a secluded feel to it, we stayed on the 'popular' site and it had a great view of the little wetland bordering the back end of the property with a short walk up the hill on the opposite side to look at the flowers and the sunset. Lots of animal sounds to enjoy at night, owls hooting and coyotes in the distance. Our site had a fire pit which was great to sit around after dinner.

Aaron's place is great! Plenty of space, campgrounds are really nice and Aaron was very accommodating to our needs. Has large firepits with cooking capabilities, will bring you firewood if needed as well. Just went in the spring and caught the wildflowers, pretty amazing. Would definitely come back.

Aaron's property was absolutely beautiful and he was a wonderful host! He showed us a few spots to pick from and even came to mow the grass shorter without us asking. We loved seeing all the wildflowers and some different wildlife. Lots of harvester ants, which our kiddo loved watching and learning about. Just after dusk we were pleasantly surprised to get a show from the fire flies, and had a decent starry view. Much better than the city! We will highly recommend this property to friends and family. Thanks Aaron for the hospitality!

The GPS coordinates took us straight to the red gate (and the grey house,) we passed to the left of the house and down a hill through the trees on a mowed path. Aaron met us and led us down to the first site. The sites are down a hill, so private from the house. Because our plans had become very full, we only got to stay overnight and leave while it was still dark in the morning. Aaron was so nice, and it’s so peaceful, we’d like to come back and spend a little longer!!

I had a wonderful time camping here and would highly recommend it! Beautiful spot, surrounded by nature, and a super nice host. The surrounding roads and area were some of the best gravel riding I've done in Texas, so if you're on a bike tour I would especially recommend this area!

Firefly ranch is a beautiful and serene location. Aaron met me at the front of the property and escorted me to my camp spot. If you want Texas style hospitality, a gorgeous example of Texas hill country beauty, and dark sky's then this is your place.

Cool Spot! Aaron has a real nice place. It's quiet and privet. We camped down by the wetland part under some BIG oaks. The site had a bit of a slope but there is a pretty flat spot for a tent. There's plenty of animal sounds that sing at night. Cows on the neighbors place and the coyotes serenade you while the frogs and crickets play their songs. We didn't get to see any fireflies this visit, the weather just wasn't right for them but we look forward another visit and maybe we might be able to see them then. Thank you for your hospitality Aaron.

Serene, beautiful, and tranquil.
Firefly Ranch
On the way over, we saw nothing but farm/ranches with cows and on occasion, horses. It was green everywhere and we drove mostly on Farm to Market Roads although there were quicker ways to get there. As we drove up the driveway, Aaron was there with a very warm smile to greet us, and we were very lucky to meet one of his bloodhounds. Next, we followed a path just recently mowed that led us to our campsite. Because it is "land", it was bumpy but not horrible. You're on a ranch, not a highway. It wasn't anything to be concerned about (I have a Honda Element). As we are driving down the path, all we can see is more green pasture and oak trees welcoming us. The land "dips" and so the camp sites are not visible to Aaron. Right now, although the trees are bare, we felt as we still had more privacy than camping at some of the parks. The ranch is beautiful, quiet, and serene. It's a great way to decompress, stargaze, or just hang out yourself and/or with friends/family.. Because of the layout and a focus to keep the ranch as a "natural environment", it makes sense to limit the # of people as in the description provided. As far as the surroundings, there is land and more land and lots and lots of cows. There are two "larger" towns within 20-25 minutes to get groceries or a bite to eat. For us, it was such a nice drive, that it seemed quicker than that. There are are also State Parks within approx 30 mins. About the host, Aaron came by the first night just to make sure we were okay and to see if anything was needed. He is an overall great guy and easy to interact with. He respects your privacy and is available by text (we didn't need to contact him). We will def be repeat visitors!
