Country Woods Inn

Just wanted to start off by saying this is one of the most unique places to stay. So many cute and thoughtful touches that they put into this place. My kids had the best time. However it needs some improvements. I don’t know if it’s because we went after heavy rain or if it’s like this all the time but there’s a heavy musty/ mold/mildew smell in the train car. We travel with an air purifier bc of bad allergies and it was still bad even with that running the whole time. We also had issues with one of the plugs in the bathroom not working and the lights in there. At the farm animal visit, there are massive ant problems that need to be treated. But the animals are so cute and we had a great time feeding them. We fell in love with Bradley the donkey who came up to train car to get more feedings. Fatcat was my youngest son’s favorite. Overall we had a fun time. We are very sensitive to musty/moldy smells. So if that doesn’t bother you then this is your place. If they could put an air purifier in the train car to run constantly that would help but maybe when it dries out after rain it’s not as bad 🤷🏻‍♀️. I hate to write something bad about such a cute place but I would want to know this considering the pricing of this place is a little steep.

It’s not a room, it’s an experience

The Santa Fe car is at the edge of a meadow and some woods, with a cluster of other accommodations ranging from campsites, airstreams and a cabin where a hostess cat lives who greets all the guests. She came knocking on our door and stayed with us, to our delight, throughout our stay. And there is no extra charge for vacation kitty! The train car is cleverly outfitted with all the comforts and everything you need for them: cooking pots and utensils, dinnerware, wine glasses and corkscrew. The hot water is steaming. The small refrigerator was plenty big enough for us and has a freezer shelf with two mini cube ice trays, but for larger groups consider bringing in some ice with you. The bunk beds are as steady as trees and so roomy under the canopy that only the very tall might have to bend to clear it. For us, it was like a small room. The mattresses are both soft and supportive. A town vendor said the car had been outfitted and adorned for the owner’s grandchildren, and we certainly benefitted from the thoughtfulness, playfulness and considerations that have been lovingly put into it. A small jar is offered for collecting fireflies darting outside. We gladly unplugged with no WiFi or tv signal there, when there were so many books, games and dvds for entertainment. Instead though we opted for star watching, deer spotting, and loving on the petting animals at the main hub. We plan to return often for the rest and rejuvenation we found easily in the woods by the river

Book it baby!

Absolutely do it. Don't think twice. Private and secluded in a beautiful wildflower meadow. Top notch Saturday morning breakfast. Friendly animals everywhere. Our cabin came with a Fatcat who took an afternoon nap with us. So so beautiful.

Great stay!!

We LOVED this place!! Our kids loved staying in a train car and playing on the playground right outside. The animals were a fun added adventure and the breakfast barn was amazing! It was so close the Dinosaur Valley that we could easily pop back and forth during the day to cool off, have lunch and head back for more adventures. Kids are already asking to go back to the “train car!”

Great Stay!

The Sanya Fe car was quaint and homey and perfect for a couple of nights away. It's best for families with older kids who climb into the bunk beds. The Country Woods Inn property was wonderful to roam and see flowers, people strolling, and animals milling around. Our kids loved the cat, donkey, and horses. Grilling and using the fire pits was easy. Saturday breakfast was pleasant and extra fun because the kids could feed the horse. We had no major issues or concerns with our stay. Definitely recommend!

We had such a fun trip. We only stayed for one night but my eight year old has already declared it as one of her favorite places. The Spartan was one of those places you couldn’t judge by the cover but the inside was beautiful, clean, and comfy. We loved on animals and enjoyed the outdoors a bit by walking the riverwalk and going for icecream downtown. We will definitely come back when we have more time to stay. Just a great overnight and quality time spent with out kids.

Cozy camp out with lots to do!

Our annual camp trip was a huge success and was enjoyed by all. We rented the Hide Out Airstream which was so cozy and private. The layout of the animal farm and fire pits is so fun and convenient. The animals are a huge highlight. We loved all the little details and the hot breakfast on Saturday was a nice treat and delicious! Wendy reached out in advance and made us feel so welcome. Thank you for a fun family & friends weekend. We'll be back!

Camping solo

I came here for a quiet place to relax and think and read and be away from noise and the city. This place was perfect. Tucked away in the back of the property. The rail car was very comfortable and cozy and has all the amenities you would need. The host was amazing and answered way more texts and questions than normal standards and made sure that i was well taken care of. This was one of my favorite spots and I will be back again to try out their other cabins with my kids.

A dog owner’s delight

My stay at the Inn was wonderful. Check-in was easy, the trailer was adorable and comfortable, and we were greeted by two horses and a donkey in the morning. We came with our dog, who had a blast - this is a great pick for pet owners! Wendy was easily accessible and happy to answer questions. Highly recommend!

Perfect getaway for the family

My family and I loved everything about the stay from the great location to the RV and how cozy it was to the animals on the farm. My daughters loved seeing the horses and the donkey roam around our RV. And let's not forget Fat cat who my girls loved. The host was so helpful and very quick to respond. To say that we are already booking our next stay. The location is closed to the river and stores and downtown.

Very family friendly! We loved how friendly the animals are on the property. “Fat Cat” was a hoot and hung out with us to escape the rain. The land is very close to the cute and quaint downtown. Thank you so much for giving our family a pleasant stay!

Full Farm Stay Near Dinosaur Valley

This rail car is a hidden gem on Hipcamp. Its the perfect tiny home for a campout near Dinosaur Valley. The bunk beds were comfy and there was room to add a cot for our third kid. There is a small kitchen with dishes and pans provided. The bathroom has a fantastic claw foot tub. Fat Cat (no really thats his name) hung out near the house the whole weekend too. On the weekends the host makes breakfast including eggs, biscuits, and sausage. They also have a little store to buy some cute items from like coffee cups, bags, and lots of other things. The best part though is the farm. You have full access to a farm complete with horses, pigs, chickens, rabbits, llamas, goats and more. You can feed all the animals too!

The Spartan Airstream was adorably decorated. It had vintage style appliances and camper themed bedding. Bed was comfortable and the AC was nice and cold. Outside had Cozy seating as well as an old style swing and hammock. If we didn’t know any better, we would believe that ALL the Fire Flies were brought in just for us! We had a wonderful stay!

Enjoyed coming out to enjoy a day away from the everyday chaos. My son and I got to cast our line down at the fishing hole, with some luck. Woke up to a beautiful sunrise. I would definitely recommend coming out.

Lovely

The whole family absolutely loved our stay in the spartan airstream. We loved all the cute personal touches inside and out the camper, the convenient essentials all in place, and the communal fire and pets. Right in the heart of one of my fave weekend towns. Very lovely trip.
