What started out as a descent place quickly became undesirable. Megan meet us as we pulled in our site. Gave us some literature and discussed specifics. The first problem was animal feces all over our lot. 2nd problem she came to us the following day and said I owed another $52 because the app picked up my trailer as a van setup. She saw what we had when we came in and never said a word. The 3rd issue was the fhu didn't allow for us to use the septic. I would not recommend anyone stay. I dont normally post bad reviews but this was beyond bad.

I stopped here just to sleep on labor day weekend, was the only place had openings. No frills campground, right by the busy road. No trees, felt like a parking lot. But was useful for me to just pull up and sleep in my car. The host was friendly and greeted me upon entering.

Very quiet and relaxing. Close to all the fun Black Hills has to offer. Megan,her husband, and their pup Duke welcomed us upon arriving and checked on us throughout our stay to make sure we were OK. Very nice people! I would definitely recommend checking this place out!

The Good: Nice hosts, clean place, really good tent sites with grass, grills and good parking. Close to town.

The owners are extremely nice. The campsite is located in a great area. My only complaint is they need to gravel the road and campsite. The road is dirt and they have put some mulch down at the camper spot but it is not enough. We got dust and mud every where.

We loved our stay at Megan and Dans campground! It was easy to find off the main road, yet peaceful. Megan and Dan went above and beyond to make us and our 5 kids feel welcome and made sure we had everything we needed. We were there over 4th of July, and they put on a bbq potluck for everyone, it was a great time! 5 out of 5 stars, would totally stay here again:)

On the edge of town, Custer. Bike/Walking trail access to town or Mickelson Trail. Host were great for providing help upon entry and provide directions and information on activities to see and do.

We loved camping here! Extremely convenient for our roadtrip from Reno, NV to WI. My husband & I wanted to spend a few nights in Custer to show our girls around. Easy access to the bike trail, going into town, & everything we wanted to see was within an hour.
Megan & Dan were exceptional hosts. Really nice & thoughtful. We love what they’re doing with the place. We would stay again!

Megan and her in-town (Custer, SD) campground are great. Nice owner, facilities clean, and just exactly what I needed for my one night passing through. But know that if you're looking for a private wooded campsite and serenity, this isn't the place; however, if you want to visit the various nearby sites (for me, Wind Cave National Park), and then get a good rest before heading on your way next morning, it's perfect. I would come here again, should I find myself back in the area.

I loved camping on Megan’s land so much I left to continue my road trip and on the return portion, booked my campsite again. I made their campground my campsite every night I was there. The hostess were so kind, informative, and not even a mile out of town. They provided me with places to eat, places to visit, and things to do. Can’t wait to stay with them again.

Last chance RV park was a great place to stay to see everything in and around Custer!! The hosts were super nice and accomodations - even lending us a ladder when we had some issues with our solar system and letting us plug in to charge our batteries! They gave us great recommendations for the area and the site was a great size with a walk down to the creek for our dogs.

Location, location, location!!!! It’s a nice privately owned campground located within miles of Custer city and Custer State Park. Very reasonably priced. But best of all are the owners who live on site. Nicest people you’ll ever meet

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The host was so polite, friendly and genuinely helpful. The location for this spot really is prime for any and all activities in Custer. We will 100percent be staying with Megan again, she was so sweet! Thank you!!!

I loved my experiences at Custer's Last Chance. Megan was so great! She welcomed me when I arrived and let me pet Duke, the dog! I was given a spot to park and set up camp. When I arrived back after dinner, they were checking in on their guests and making them feel comfortable. I was sitting at my bonfire when Megan walked over to me and we started to chat. I was a solo traveler and I felt very safe and comfortable at this site! I would definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The host and hostess were so kind and accommodating. They made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived and they checked on us to make sure we were ok before we left. It is a beautiful site right next to the Mickelson Trail and the downtown area of Custer is about a mile away. There’s also a fantastic dog park within walking distance. It’s a great place to enjoy the region. Would recommend and would come again!
