Whippoorwill Farms SC is a 40 acre, regenerative working farm, where our main income comes from the sale of our meat, egg and vegetable products direct to consumer at local farmers markets, through our subscription service and at local restaurants! We love opening up our farm for people to experience what farm life is like in a beautiful, wooded setting. After moving our farm here to this land in October of 2019, we began the slow process of regenerating the land through the use of heritage animal species and permaculture. We have made a lot of progress on our property since then, and we continue daily to work to regenerate our little slice of land! Walk our property and the see hundreds of pigs, thousands of chickens (we have the most chickens between March-December), cows and our two horses, Whiskey and Willow. Our livestock roam amongst the trees and forage in their natural environment. If you love nature and regenerative agriculture, you'll love exploring our farm and all we have to offer!

If you like chickens, and you join us for certain months of the year, you just might share your evenings with our Freedom Ranger chicken flocks who inhabit the woods surrounding the campground as they rotate through! Spacious gravel site (with some grass coming through the gravel as we don't use herbicides) in our Campground area of the farm, with 30amp hookup and water. There is no sewer or dumping on site but there is dumping at Camping World about 15 minutes away. There is also a portapotty available nearby. Guests will share 8 other campsites spread out over 4 acres. All sites have picnic tables. Fire rings are available upon request. All sites are back in but very easy to navigate. All sites are wooded and somewhat shady depending on the time of day.

All sites are back in but very easy to navigate. All sites are wooded and somewhat shady depending on the time of day.

The Retro at Whippoorwill Farms SC
It was a nice little camper to stay in! Very close to Savannah so we were able to go see the city and come back and walk the trail on the farm. The hosts were great and very helpful. Great with communication as well! Would totally visit again!!

Peaceful & quiet

The Retro at Whippoorwill Farms SC
Marissa greeted us on arrival and showed us the retro camper, which was clean and comfortable. Best of all, it had air conditioning! Her farm was peaceful and quiet . . . we heard gray treefrogs and green treefrogs calling, as well as chuck-will's-widows, which are the southern counterpart of the whip-poor-will. In the morning, we walked around the property to see the animals (chickens, cows, pigs, and a horse) and view her restoration project. Marissa's concept of being a producer instead of a consumer is awesome, albeit hard work. We purchased 2 dozen chicken eggs collected fresh that morning before we departed.

Great experience and comfy bed!
The Retro at Whippoorwill Farms SC
The bed in the camper was super comfortable. It was a short stay for me but the RV was the perfect temperature and the space was very clean and tidy. In the morning I walked down and hung out with the pigs and chickens for a few minutes. It was a cool experience and the hosts were super nice and helpful!

Tent Camping on a Regenerative Farm
Great sites and community feel. People hanging out and chatting. Learned about regenerative farming and it was a revelation. Bought farm butchered bacon and cooked it on the skillet in the morning. Would go again!

Tent Camping on a Regenerative Farm
I had the most amazing time staying at Marissa's Farm. What an amazing lady she is. She has such an amazing heart and soul. The farm is a great place to camp! Its an out the box experience! Coming from illinois i was in awe the whole time i was in the south! I loved hearing about her way of life and how she got started! Keep doing great things and we look forward to seeing you and your accomplishments in the future!

Tent Camping on a Regenerative Farm
What a sweet campsite on a truly special farm. Marissa and James were so accommodating and made us feel completely at home, Marissa gave us a tour of their farm and explained everything about their regenerative, land-honoring practices in depth (and then we bought some of their fresh eggs, bacon and pork for breakfast over the fire pit)- James was great fireside conversation. Our dog LOVED it too. So nice to camp next to the pigs, guinea hens, and to meet Johnny the dog and Cowboy. Our tent site had beautiful globe string lights over it, there was electric and water, everyone was friendly and neighborly... we truly felt like we were amongst friends. We will definitely be back and recommend Whipporwhill 100%!

Tent Camping on a Regenerative Farm
It was such a great experience staying at Marissa's farm!!! We were on our way to kayak the Ebenezer Creek and it was only 30 minutes away!!! Loved the hospitality- from Marissa and the chickens, pigs, goats and of course Johnny the German Shepherd!! Highly recommend!!!

Great farm stay...retro trailer!!
The Retro at Whippoorwill Farms SC
We really enjoyed our stay on the farm...retro trailer just perfect and set away from the rest of the working farm area. It's just a short walk on the trail to see all of the action! Definitely lots of animal sounds, so if you're not into that, this may not be the place for you. We think it's pretty cool to be around so many animals, and Marissa and her family are doing things the way it's meant to be! Make sure to visit their food stand and meat trailer!

The camper is cute and cozy, the hosts are lovely and helpful, and it’s amazing to see all the animals. There’s a great sunset over the back pasture as well!

Fun weekend getaway @ Whippoorwill
The Retro at Whippoorwill Farms SC
We had a great time. Ate some great locally raised meats and eggs cooked over the campfire. Enjoyed being able to rent the cute little retro trailer and enjoyed adventuring around the farm and nearby town.
