We will be decorated for Halloween. We are currently working a scary trail. Pitch your tent along Irish Creek under a canopy of Maples at Mystic Hollow. Irish Creek stream is a tributary to the Schuylkill River. The land is mostly flat for walking to camping area. There is also a small bridge that goes over a small strip of wetlands. Fire rings are included. I can haul your gear to your spot with tractor and wagon if needed. There is a port-a-potty close by. If you have your own portapotty, you must take the waste with you. We have no way to dispose of human waste. Absolutely no disposing of human waste on the property or in the trash. There will be a fine. We are flexible with check-in and check-out times if we are not at full capacity. Just let us know ahead of time. We allow dogs. They must be on leashes unless they are friendly and play well with others. You must clean up your dog's poop! No exceptions! We are 5 minutes from the Schuylkill River. 10 minutes from Ontelaunee Lake. 15 minutes from Blue Marsh. 15 minutes from the Appalacian Trail. Trail heads nearby Port Clinton, Hamburg, Bernville, Bethel, Blue Rocks, Kempton... 20 minutes from Hawk Mountain. We are an hour from Jim Thorpe. There are several wineries in the area including Long Trout Winery where wine is cool and hippy chicks rule! My favorite! Lots of wildlife. Expect to hear owls, blue heron, cows, goats, chickens, hawks, eagles, dogs, racoons and coyotes. Racoons will steal food that is not put away or in coolers. Deer may walk past in the middle of the night. Hiking, kayaking, tubing, fishing, mountain biking, bike trails, etc... all nearby. Sadly there are no fish in Irish Creek worth catching. The Crayfish are! As with any land situated along a water source, there is always a possibility of flooding. We flood maybe once a year, once every other year. If that should happen, we will assist in hauling gear. There is higher ground for tents to be set up if need be. There will also be rooms available to rent in the near future. This tent site with a firepit is situated next to the stream. The site is level and is next to a creek and privacy screen. Approximately 50 yards from wash area, trash cans, outhouse, water and electric. There may be raccoons that will come around at night looking for a snack so make sure your food is secure. There have been Green Heron recently down in the stream area and lots of woodpeckers. At night, you may hear owls, frogs, cows, bats and possibly coyotes.

This tent site is situated next to the stream. It has a fire pit. Approximately 400 yards from sink area, trash cans, outhouse, water and electric. This site is adjacent to a dairy farm so there may be dairy cows in the pasture right aside of this side. The "Girls" are very curious but please do not try to pet or feed them. Please do not go into their pasture. There is an electric fence dividing the properties.

This tent site with a firepit is situated next to the stream. The site is level and located on the other side of the stream from the trash cans, outhouse. This site is closer to the main road but has a lot of privacy . The site will be accessible from a foot bridge when it's completed. Otherwise, you will have walk through the stream. We can haul your gear to the site for you. The site will be accessible by a vehicle at certain times during the year . There may be raccoons that will come around at night looking for a snack so make sure your food is secure. And deer. There have been Green Heron recently down in the stream area and lots of woodpeckers. At night, you may hear owls, frogs, cows, bats, raccoons and possibly coyotes.

The RV site is not along the stream. Irish Creek, which is a stream, is a tributary to the Schuylkill River. Tent Sites are a 5 minute walk from main house. The land is flat for walking to the camping area. A slight bit bumpy in a small area. I can manage just fine in flip flops but I did want to provide the information if anyone would be using a wheelchair. There is also a small bridge that goes over a small strip of wetlands. Fire rings are included. Tables can be provided. Just let us know ahead of time. I can haul your gear to your spot with tractor and wagon if needed. There is a port-a-potty close by. Please let us know in advance if you would like to use them. Open fire cooking grills can be provided if needed. We are flexible with check-in and check-out times if we are not at full capacity. Just let us know ahead of time if you want to check in or out earlier or later. The area is pretty private for the most part. We are currently working on making it very private!! We are 5 minutes from the Schuylkill River. 10 minutes from Ontelaunee Lake. 15 minutes from Blue Marsh. 15 minutes from the Appalacian Trail. Trail heads nearby would be Port Clinton, Hamburg, Bernville, Bethel, Blue Rocks, Kempton... 20 minutes from Hawk Mountain. We are an hour from Jim Thorpe. Expect to hear owls, blue herring, cows, goats, chickens, horses, hawks, eagles, dogs, racoons and coyotes. There is a good chance of being visited by racoons at night if your food isn't stored away properly. I do have a few coolers if needed. Also, the deer may walk past in the middle of the night as well. We do also get wild turkey during different times of the year. Hiking, kayaking, tubing, fishing, mountain biking, bike trails, etc... all nearby. Sadly there are no fish in Irish Creek worth catching. The Crayfish are! Please don't hesitate to contact us with questions.

I had a great night camping at Mel's! She was so thoughtful and nice to talk to, helped me get set up for the night, and showed me around the property so I felt very safe and had a relaxing evening and night. It was lovely meeting Bear the dog and the cats on the property as well, such sweethearts. The campsite was a good size, was decorated for the upcoming holiday, and had plenty of privacy from the road. Beautiful clear starry skies. I'm glad I stayed at Mel's along my trip!

My mom and I had a blast with our rustic weekend camping trip at the end of October, one last weekend before it got too cold! This is classic rustic camping, less amenities = beautiful nature , in a beautiful meadow with a stream going around it! Mel, the hostess got us plenty of wood when we asked and checked in with us each night! She helped haul all our stuff to our site, so that part wasnt to bad. Just what I needed peace and quiet in nature! Thanks Mel!

Wow! Perfect little getaway for a couple or even a group of friends. Mel is super friendly and welcoming. Beautiful land paired with animals and nature. Couldn’t ask for much more. Will definitely be coming back with a group of friends. Highly Recommend

It was a cute private area! We only stayed a night, but we had a great time. It was beautiful, we saw a deer in the morning, and my dog had a great time playing in the water!

Fantastic stay! This was a first-time camp for my 7 and 4 year old (total city kids), as well as my anxiety-ridden pup. So, my wife and I had some reason to be anxious about the trip. The campsite exceeded expectations, and Mel was super accommodating. Catching crawfish in the stream was a big hit for the kiddos. There was a large field adjacent to the site where our kids could run around, but enough tree cover at the site to get out of the sun as needed. Would stay again!

We loved staying at Mel’s land -- our experience exceeded expectations! Mel was attentive, quick to offer help, and a pleasure to chat with beyond just campsite details. We brought our dogs, and they were happiest playing near the stream. The campsite was spotless, with well-kept grass and a beautiful, polished feel. We definitely plan to come back, hopefully for a longer stay next time.

This place is absolutely excellent, but what truly makes it special is the warm and thoughtful reception. A huge thank you to Mel, an incredible host who was always so caring and attentive with us. She even went out of her way to help with our dog when he hurt his leg — her kindness meant the world to us. Mel and her sweet dog Bear are both absolute treasures. We couldn’t be more grateful for the experience, and we’ll definitely be coming back countless times to camp here again!

Lovely experience!! Mel was outstanding and helped us so much with our supplies with her tractor. Site 10 was so private, green, and cows even visited across the fence! We swam in stream, made fire in fire pit and slept so well. Recommend!!

This was an amazing camping experience! Mel was truly amazing and was around to help throughout each day we were there. The sight was great and the stream was fantastic. There was plenty of private fire space along the stream which was the highlight of the trip. We home to come back soon!

I loved tent camping at Mel’s Campsite #10, Campsite #10 is more private than other campsites. The stream alongside was nice as well. There’s also a table there, which was convenient. We had some mosquito repellent that worked fine for us, so don’t forget that. Fire wood is also available for purchase. Mel helped us with everything that was needed. She helped us with dropping our camping equipment and other items at the campsite. She’s awesome and super helpful. Her dog (“little bear”) is pretty cute as well. I highly recommend this campsite.

Protect Mel at all costs! She went above and beyond to ensure our group of four, plus a dog, were comfortable and had everything we needed. My friend brought her Samoyed who needs to swim frequently to stay cool, and he just loved swimming in the stream, and it was fun dunking in with him too. It was pretty shallow in July but deep enough in places to submerge. The sites are basically on a giant field with a good number of trees, but also enough empty space in the middle to stargaze. Our group were the only ones there while we camped for two nights, but new people came on the last day, and we barely heard or saw them when they set upup on the other side of the field. We went on a great 6 mile hike nearby with a swimming hole partway through that we found on the alltrails app. Since the site is near the Appalachian Trail it looked like there's a lot of good hiking around. Mel was a great host and her creekside campsite was beautiful! She was so helpful and assisted us with taken our equipment over to our site. We would definitely recommend her campsite. It was a magical seeing all the fireflies at night surround you. We loved our time spent there with our family!

Best tent site I have ever been to! It was in the middle of the nature yet accessible by network and close to the town. The water was very refreshing and I did not feel like leaving. Would definitely come back here.

I absolutely adore Mystic Hollow <3 it’s so tranquil. Mel is a kind host who works hard to make sure her guests needs are met. There was a lot of space especially for a holiday weekend. Mel was also flexible with our campsite position due to the weather which was nice. 10/10 I’ll be back!

It’s always so beautiful here. I arrived in the rain but next day was hot. The stream was cold and lovely to sit by. Make sure you bring bug repellant, mosquitoes and biting flies are everywhere after a rain. Site 10 is furthest away and private but has just one step down to the creek. Mel is always so helpful and kind, my dogs love the freedom to sprint through the field and roam as we walk. This is always my favorite camping spot.

We had such a wonderful stay at this spot! Everything about it felt welcoming and peaceful. Her dog, Little Bear, completely stole our hearts. The site was incredibly relaxing. We spent hours just sitting beside the water listening to it trickle by. You can tell a lot of care and intention goes into making this a special place for all.

Great place and Mel is awsome. Live the streams and so did my dog. Lots of respect for her after her home burned to the ground and then being flooded out she still makes sure all campers are ok and taken care of. Thank you for opening up your property.

Mel took the time to warn us ahead of time that the campground was a little muddy from rain. When we got there, our site was fine but the ground getting there was soft. Mel had a four wheeler and a trailer and took the time to move our belongings to the campsite and made sure we had firewood, kindling, and the fire ring was dry. She was pleasureable and personable to talk to. She made sure we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The site was well kept and beautiful and we had a very peaceful night sleeping by the stream. Great place to camp! Thanks, Mel!

My wife and I spent a wonderful Memorial Day weekend here. Leading up to the trip, Mel was responsive and helpful. When we arrived, the land was beautiful with every site sitting by the creekside. Mel helped us move our things in with her four wheeler making setup a breeze. She was attentive and friendly throughout the stay and we enjoyed every minute of our time there. We will definitely be back!
