Absolutely breathtaking camping spot! We had an amazing time doing a cold weather camp. Plenty of wood was provided and the property is gorgeous. Real diamond in the rough. Definitely recommend.

Allen was excited to meet us right at the gate and eager to point out everything the property had to offer Was a great experience and look forward to staying with him again. Prepped the site for us with picnic table and lots of extra firewood ready to go.. can’t say enough great things about the spot and hope to catch the next Dirty Cherry Mudd’n event when we’re in the area. James’ review (8 YO) : The frogs, the toads, the big mud hole and everything else and a place where we can light off fireworks. And all the Extra Space to explore.

Nice spot. We stayed one night. But we had a fire, drank some beers, and enjoyed a fun evening. It was a little uneven for tents but I found a good flat spot. I'd definitely stay again.

Great place to get some rest. After a long day of road traveling, Allen’s place was good to stop and get some sleep. There are neighbors, but they quiet down soon after 11pm and you’re pretty far away from them. Allen was awesome and had a fire ready when I pulled up.

Site 3 Scenic RV and Tent Camping

We were passing through and needing somewhere to rooftop tent camp. It was around 11:00 PM when we made our reservation. We were able to easily locate the campsite in the dark and were pleasantly surprised when we woke up to see just how beautiful the property is. We highly recommend this campsite!!!!

The site was great and the owner was very friendly and helpful. There was plenty of wood to use for the whole stay and the firepit was nice. The owner checked in on us a few times to see if we needed more would or anything which was nice of him. I'd definitely recommend this place and we will likely be back again!

Perfect stop

Allen could have been more supportive on our visit! We drove from Grayson, KY pulling a 27ft Travel Trailer to his campsite! When we pulled in I had no idea we ran out of fuel instantly! Allen and his wife had fuel on site to help us and everything about our site had been already prepared with fire ring and fire wood! We also have 2 very active dogs that had a blast with no one around them, in a very spacious campsite.

Easy stay!

Great stay! We tent-camped here late on a Saturday night while road tripping across the country. We booked instantly in the app, the property was easy to find even in the dark, and we thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. Allen was kind enough to greet us in the morning (since we arrived around midnight!) and made sure we had a nice stay. We had to get back on the road early, otherwise we would have liked to enjoy more of Allen’s property! Definitely looking forward to staying again during our next roadtrip.

We had a great time here! There was much space to roam and Allen even had our fire pit lit when we arrived which was much appreciated after a long day of driving. We had no idea how wonderful this spot would be. We hope to return again someday!

Allen was so kind and accommodating for our reactive doodle, keeping us far away from other campers and what a great spot we had! Plus, after arriving a little late after our drive, Allen set up not only our firepit, but started our fire for us as we set our campsite — what a nice welcome! It was so cool to have an array of private hiking trails to explore after our intimate viewing of the solar eclipse totality!! We couldn't have imagined how wonderful of a time we would truly have, thanks Allen!

This was our first time camping in many years, and first time with Hipcamp. It had been raining for a couple of weeks before we arrived for the 2024 Total Eclipse. There was mud everywhere. I got my truck stuck right away. Our host, Allen, had me back on firm ground in just a few minutes. Other than mud, our site was fine. Allen had a fire going when we arrived, and plenty of wood too. For our purpose, viewing the eclipse, it was great. Allen was helpful if we needed anything. Overall a very positive experience.

Site 1 - Scenic RV & Tent Camping

The site is clearly an off road mudding facility. It was impassable with no signs for Hipcamp showing where our site would be. Could not contact host. We nearly got stuck with 4x4 and off road tires. We left. I’ve tried to contact host multiple times to refund. But no response. We ended up staying down the road at a small campground. This guy should be removed from Hipcamp

We spent one night here. Very peaceful and quiet. Allen had already set up the wood for our fire. Very generous amount of wood! Allen and Betty checked in with us and let us know they were available if we needed anything. We had no issues driving to our spot with our Rav4 towing a teardrop. We did need to search a bit for a level spot but were able to set up with no problem.

Allen’s land was peaceful with plenty of space to stretch out and explore. We arrived late but the site was easy to get to and Allen accommodated by having a fire ready for us on arrival! Very kind people and beautiful property. I highly recommend.

Great site, great owners. Site was quiet, open stars. This was a wonderful find. We camped and then took the kids to Wladameer Park. Could not have asked for a better accommodation! Very happy campers!

Had the whole place to ourselves and chose a site further away from the road. It was great to hike and let the dog roam through the woods and tons of trails. Was nice and quiet. Allen was a good host and offered us free firewood. Too rainy for a fire, but maybe next time.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this site! The owner Allen and his wife Betty were so accommodating, they had a fire lit for us upon arrival, provided a picnic table without us even having to ask and the location was peaceful and secluded just enough to enjoy some time away in nature!

Allen and his wife are truly some of the most hospitable host we have met while traveling. Super caring and willing to help out. The land is gorgeous with many options to walk your dog. We were surprised with fireflies while cooking our dinner over the campfire. Would highly recommend this camp, a great stay for all ages.

Allen and Betty are purely kindhearted. I was in a bit of a jam and had to find something quick and I was immediately replied to. The directions on how to get there were very clear and the communication back and forth before arrival was prompt. Upon arrival Allen was already there waiting and had started a beautiful fire for me ahead of time with extra wood in one of their ring fire pits! I briefly spoke about having to set up a hammock for the night so Allen made sure my spot had options for that with trees! The vastness of the location was great for star gazing. Very very quiet at night. I was woken up by song birds in the morning and Allen came by to chat and get to know me a little. He was very interested in what I had to say which was a nice welcoming feeling. I didn’t feel rushed out at all. He had a 4th of July mud rally coming up so the place was tidy. I definitely suggest the simplicities of this experience.

Fun place with plenty of space!

Had a great time camping at Allen's -- aka Dirty Cherry Mudd'n. This place has several campsites and a ton of space. And Allen and Betty are really kind and generous hosts. Allen told me the place get's busy during the mudd'n events they run. But apart from those times, which are generally on Holiday weekends, you can expect to have a peaceful night with plenty of space to spread out. You can double check dates at this address - https://dirtycherrymuddnalbion.com/#mudding-events - before booking if you want to avoid crowds. I had the place to my self but even if there are a few other campers, there's ample space to find a quiet site to make your own. Seems like you can drive your car up to any of the sites from what I saw. My site had multiple fire pits including one with a grill attachment and plenty of firewood, a little tree coverage which was good for my hammock, and not far from clean porta-jawns. Allen hooked me up with a picnic table once I picked out my site. You can walk around the trails and Lake Erie isn't too far away. Good birding and wildlife on the property. Grocery stores, food and beer about a 10 minute drive away. This place is awesome. Allen and Betty maintain a great space with sites perfect for families and groups - and keep em super clean for a place called Dirty Cherry Mudd'n lol I was camping solo but definitely want to bring some friends back and maybe even stop by for a mudd'n event if I'm in the area. Thanks again Allen and Betty! I felt spoiled :)

Exceptional Hosts!!!! There are areas with sun and and areas with shade. Being an easy up for shade or added shade (in case you get a sunny spot). We very much enjoyed our stay. While we accidentally booked on a mud truck event weekend - the mud truck folks were nice. Allen even called us to make sure we were ok with it being a mud truck weekend before accepting our application to stay. He didn’t want us to be surprised. He went above and beyond during the weekend to be sure we were enjoying our stay. As the mud truck events are not every weekend you will be certain to find quiet weekends where you can listen ti 3 different species of frogs around his ponds, lots of trails to hike. Close to the lake, river, and other fun!

Allen’s spot is beautiful and expansive. He had high quality firewood and a ring available on the huge lawn campsite. I would revisit when passing through the area again.
