what an amazing and thoughtful campsite! directions and check in were so smooth. being right on the water with all the space, and accommodations like the shower bag, an immaculate porta potty and covered cooking area were unbeatable! and all of this sooo close to plenty of activities and stores was just perfect. i certainly plan to book again!

We had a blast and love coming back! The north west Lancaster trail is next to this campsite and we loved spending time on the trail every day. The site has thoughtful amenities and was very easy to check in and out.

We had a wonderful weekend at the campsite, despite the rain. The wooden platforms kept us out of the mud and standing water. The covered kitchen area was a mostly dry space to store things and prepare meals. I loved the small sink hand washing station. The entire site was well maintained, beautiful and peaceful views of the Susquehanna River. The porta loo was clean and well stocked with TP. And what a truly awesome fire pit! We will certainly be back and bring the kids. For those concerned about the trains, don’t be. While you do hear them in the distance, they are not intrusive.

For a rainy memorial weekend, this site was a gem! We will definitely return, hopefully with better weather to enjoy the site to the fullest. The covered kitchen area, hand washing station, and wooden platforms were so appreciated and made the rainy weekend enjoyable. There were plenty of places to put up tarps, but we choose not to. The campsite is very well shaded and the layout and extra touches were very thoughtful. There are multiple cooking options - bring your own Coleman stove for the kitchen area, charcoal for the grill or use the phenomenal fire ring with built in grill attachment. The covered firewood area kept the wood moderately dry which was a plus for the one night we had a clear evening for a fire. Everything was clean and ready. The site was easy to find, spacious, and close to trails. There is a public river access nearby so on occasion we could hear other campers from the nearby sites but it was never after sundown. There a train whistle that blows several times each day/evening but we never found it intrusive or overwhelming. My only very minor recommendations would be a dedicated fire bucket for getting water and a bucket/shovel to clean out any excess ash from the fire ring. There’s a bucket and shovel attached to the grill and not removable. Again, very minor and we made do without. Sitting by the river was so peaceful. Booking was super easy and ordering wood in advance with the option of purchasing more onsite was a great convenience. Thank you!

Not exaggerating, but this is the best campsite we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. Check in was a breeze and site itself was perfection.
What drew us in to booking was the riverside access and the raised decks. The views were incredible and the site was very private. The facilities were so clean and well maintained. Immediately upon arrival, we knew we were going to rebook again in the future!

We loved our stay! Our dogs, and kids had a blast exploring a new place and had plenty of room to let loose. Zach was very accommodating, and when we arrived everything was tidy and well maintained. They provided a free bundle of wood, which I wasn’t expecting. Also, cleanest port-a-potty I have ever seen. It was very private but, not entirely secluded since you could occasionally hear people walking on the nearby trail. An easy fix is if you bring a speaker and music. The view and river access was great and if it was warmer we would have used it more. We will definitely be saving this place for future trips!

Susquehanna River Front Campsite
Everything was clean and well maintained. Loved the wooden platforms, string of lights, fire pit. Unexpected bonus was some firewood and two hammocks already set up. Gorgeous view of the river and so convenient to the bike trail. Check in was a breeze. Note: As an active freight rail line goes alongside the bike trail and river, do expect train whistles and noise several times a night.

It was a great time camping on Zach's property. The waterfront it's beautiful plenty of space to do whatever there's a nice fire pit and a little kitchen area. We'll definitely be back

This riverfront campsite was everything we expected it to be and more! From check-in to check-out, we had the site completely to ourselves. We have 2 reactive dogs, and are always worried about interacting with other dogs at crowded campgrounds. This trip, our dogs were more relaxed than ever, were able to roam the entire site, and exhausted themselves from all the zoomies!! We were rained in most of our second day there, but still had plenty of fun. There was a full shower bag provided, full basin of water for the hand-washing sink, and surprisingly clean bathroom amenities. There are 2 wooden platforms closer to the water, and 1 larger platform toward the back of the site where we set up our tent. All 3 were very well-maintained. There are string lights set up, but you need to rent/have a generator to power them. The fire pit was great, and we had purchased the $10 firewood bundle - Zach left 2 bundles for us in the covered kitchen area. Lastly, if you’re looking to fish, we caught a good sized rainbow trout and a baby catfish! Great trip overall.

Great site, sturdy pads, clean port-a-potty, really cool grilltop firepit that we cooked on the whole weekend. Sadly the river current was a bit strong for new canoer/kayakers while we stayed but the more experiences guys still got a few runs in. Directions were clear and straightforward had no problems getting in and out. Overall great time would visit again!
One improvement that could be made - the tent pads by the water were hit with pretty strong gusts of wind and we had to get creative using tension straps under the pads to keep them from blowing away. Would be nice if there was a more obvious/convenient way to stake or tie the tents down to the pads, but we figured it out.

This site is AMAZING! My son, service dog and I had a very relaxing time. We heeded the advice and brought a kayak and bodyboard which are perfect for the site. We “roughed” it and it was perfect!

Zach’s site was great! Beautiful views of the river with the perfect amount of seclusion. Awesome for fishing off the shore, visiting with family, and hiking the area. Campground was amazing, the River access and nearby trails were all well maintained and it felt very private for being close to other campsites and trailers. Port-a-potty was clean and stocked and the covered kitchen area was really nice to have since we did get some rain while we were there.
We will definitely be coming back!

This spot is amazing! The hosts provide some great amenities and the location is clutch for birdwatching, swimming, boating, river appreciation and more. Our group had a great time and definitely will be back!

My family and I loved this camping de the first time back in 2020 and we come back each year, sometimes with our friends, sometimes just by ourselves. The privacy is something we value and the cleanliness as well. If not for a factory that makes super load noises on Monday morning for at least an hour( it doesn’t do it on weekends) it was an awesome stay. Thank you Zack

This river site is so wonderful! Easy to get to, comfortable, and spacious. We love being right on the river's edge, in a spot that is accessible but still tucked away and private. The outdoor kitchen area is perfect and the platforms make for a great sleeping experience. Zach is a great host, very responsive and accommodating. This was our second annual visit to this site - and we look forward to returning again!

This was a really beautiful campsite. It was just two of us for this trip, but it could accommodate a fairly large group very comfortably. The three platforms for tents (one was massive) where great, and there were a number of other small tent areas around the space, some of which would offer a bit of privacy. The covered kitchen and small handwashing sink were great and made cooking and cleanup very easy. The solar shower was a nice luxury. The site is situated on a shallow, slow moving part of the river which made it pretty easy to paddle around in the kayaks we rented from Zach. Check-in/out where super easy, and communication was great. The only thing to note is that while the site is really beautiful, it's not particularly remote. There's a fairly busy public access point to the river right next to the site, and a busy bicycle trail just behind it. The site itself is still very private. You can't see people (and they can't see you) from these areas, but you'll hear them. We were also there on a busy holiday weekend, so it might be slower at times. There's also train tracks behind the site, and a very loud train which came through a few times per night. These are definitely not huge issues, and we would absolutely stay at the site again (even with me being more sensitive to noise, I'd still stay here again) but it is something to note before you book. But all in all, this was a great site that we'd love to go back to and take friends.

This campsite was a beautiful concept, and although we still enjoyed our time outdoors, there are definitely a few things that need disclosure. First off, there’s a massive eyesore. A huge power plant across the water spews smoke into the air around the clock. The photos on the River Rock website are strategically taken to not show the plant. You can hear the loudspeakers from the plant across the water.
There was also a train blaring its horn every so often, all day and all night. Sleep was minimal, even with white noise playing through a speaker. Boats went through the river at night with very loud partiers, so just be aware.
Also I was told that I could rent kayaks, billed through a PayPal invoice. I requested three kayaks; I sent the message a good four days before the trip. I never received a response to that message, or other questions I had asked. Once we arrived, my boyfriend tried calling the phone number given to us to again request kayaks. There was no answer, so we left a message and never got a call back.
I booked this site for my birthday and was terribly disappointed. It was pricey for a campsite, but I booked it because I genuinely thought it was worth the extra money. Unfortunately I was wrong. I also now see that I should’ve read more reviews. I hope this review helps someone else.

Zach's campsite is amazing and we all had a great time. Zach is a great host - communicative, responsive, and very friendly. We all really appreciated the amenities the site has to offer and the privacy and remote feel of the site while still being close to the trail and town if necessary. We'd definitely come back for another stay!

We had a great experience camping here!
Although we didn’t have a chance to swim, we loved being right on the water.
We really appreciated the three wooden platforms that we could use to set up our tent and tables, etc. on a flat surface, especially since we came on a rainy weekend. In the rain the site got a bit muddy, but the large wooden platform at the back of the site was big enough to fit my 12’ x 16’ tent with plenty of room to spare, which kept us off the ground and dry. The other two platforms were smaller, but allowed for great river views during meals, etc.
The porta-potty was immaculately clean, and the shower stall area was convenient, although we brought our own extra large body wipes, rather than using a solar shower.
We would happily return.

This site has everything you’d want in primitive tent camping. Huge space tucked away neatly on the river. Kitchen area was done very well. The fire pit alone was worth it, that thing is amazing. Love the elevated tent platforms and private water access. Host was very responsive and accommodating. Will be back for sure in the fall. Thanks again!

We had such a delightful stay at this site! The hosts were responsive when we had questions, and all was arranged as described in the listing. We really enjoyed the river views, the fire pit, the platforms for our tents, and the covered kitchen area. The privacy of the location helped us to relax and enjoy without worrying that we might disturb others nearby. This is a fantastic spot and we hope to return!
