Dave was very kind. Met me at the agreed upon location and drove me to the site. Easy access, private, clean and very safe. Wonderful site, wonderful human host!!

David has a great property! It is private and quiet. It is surrounded by amish families and the land has plenty of safe food for my rabbits.

Dave was a wonderful host. I feel it is important to note, that as a single traveling female, I felt safe staying on David's land.
He was so welcoming and inviting that I felt instantly relaxed. I was informed that even if my SUV became stuck in mud, he would be able to pull my car out for me.
Regarding an event such as the eclipse, I personally found the drummers he had on the property very cool. At first, I was hesitant with the noise. But I soon realized they were being used for dramatic effect and only played every fifteen minutes or so. It very much added to the tone of the day.
Dave gave a few very heartfelt 'speeches' to the group that stayed on his land. His overall disposition to life was preached in a meaningful way that I truly hope others listened to. Some of the key take aways would include: to appreciate life, take time to view the amazing world around you while not getting distracted by negativity and technology, love/respect others, and be grateful for what you have.
Dave was a truly welcoming man. I heard him say, "I love you" to everyone. By no means was his demeanor creepy or intrusive. If anything, him and his wife went out of their way to make everyone comfortable.
The core spot of the land had questionable mobile carrier service; however, you were able to get a signal at the road. A fellow camper near me was able to set up a hotspot (maybe through satellite) and even complete work calls which he allowed me to join! Overall, amazing experience!

I booked this site last minute to see the 2024 solar eclipse in totality, and to say I got lucky is an understatement! David's farm has ample field space as well as wooded areas to enjoy, and the fact that there are multiple porta-pottys is wonderful, but by far the most stand out cornerstone of this camp is David himself. His kind spirit and generosity were felt from the moment we arrived and it never stopped! What I thought would be a chaotic last ditch effort to see the eclipse in a random field, turned out to be an impromptu mini-festival of love and appreciation for mother nature! The energy and kindness that was shared around the campfire was a life-fulfilling experience in and of itself. David has a heart of gold and there is absolutely no doubt that my friends and I will be back. Truly a trip that I will remember for the rest of my life!

I stayed on Dave's land for the 2024 solar eclipse and couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience. The space was as I expected -- totally no frills, and I was mainly ecstatic that Dave and his land existed when we showed up after dark after many hours on the road. But Dave was as welcoming as could be, including providing a dozen of farm fresh eggs for breakfast the next morning! His spirit and enthusiasm and welcoming nature made an already epic experience that much better.

My objective was to have a place to view the eclipse so I never got to the campsite but rather parked in the field as directed by Dave, who is a gracious host. We left after the eclipse. There was a porta-potty available and the other people were very kind and respectful.

David was super friendly, welcoming and accommodating. We were there for the eclipse so his field was full, but they were great at telling us where to set up. He and a few other guys dropped off straw to keep the ground dry and comfy, as well as some firewood to get us going. They kept coming around to make sure folks were doing alright as well. Beautiful land and the stars are incredibly bright on a clear night. Would go back just to camp even if there wasn’t an eclipse.

David was the perfect host, full of generous spirit and wise words. It was such a fun time to camp on the farm, there was plenty of room to roam and they helped us dig a fire pit and provided wood, and hay bales for a dry spot to sleep on. Wish him and the farm the best!

Despite some rain early in the mornings the entire camping experience during the eclipse was amazing! Dave was a very friendly and helpful host who helped provide for all the campers during their stay and genuinely cared for the people there. I would recommend to anyone who plans to stay and see the attractions in the area. We (the campers and Dave) really created a mini festival of friends during this experience

Upon arrival you navigate to the host's farm house where he points you towards where you can camp. The location is accessible with just a short gravel track from the main road. You choose your own site out of a section of two or three fields that have been mowed down, no assigned sites exist. The port-a-potties are nearby, bring your own TP as supplies were very limited. The host came around to situate everyone and their hole in the ground fire pits. The fire wood was provided with plenty of tinder nearby. The bugs were not at all a problem for early spring. Be aware of wet weather having a negative effect on fresh mowed fields. Neighboring sites are crowded in the same field, be aware if this booking is full like it was for an event you will have some nearby noises. Overall not bad for the price. I can not attest to any water or trash services but did not impact my stay one bit, just bring your own water and pack out trash. Thanks for the quick stay! I would have stayed another night if possible. What would have made this stay even better would have been a dedicated above ground fire pit, with hole in the ground pits you lose out on heating and have to sit uncomfortably close on nights that dip down to the lower 40s I would caution staying on anything less than that. Cell phone reception (verizon) was spotty but available to inform other guests of the location. There is no nearby lighting pack your own. Watch out for field mice and keep food items secure.

Dave, his family, and their neighbors were all so friendly, helpful, and kind to us during our stay. They made sure we were settled and brought us some affordable mixed hardwood to burn, and bales of straw to put under our tents for comfort. The site was a nice farm with rolling hills and some woods along the edges, down a quiet dirt road. Lots of places to choose to set up camp and dig a fire pit. The port o johns were clean! I would recommend bringing a large water jug (we used a 7 gallon container), so you can fill up with well water once when you arrive, since we didn't have a spigot close to where we were staying.

Dave is a very welcoming host! Enjoyed hanging out at a no-frills, access to a porta potty only tent site. Set-up within a hayfield, a number of RVs and tents were in attendance for the eclipse. His son Chris welcomed Hazel and I with a dozen eggs, so grateful to not have to run out. They are hosting a festival in July - will back back!

David was an excellent host! Led us to the best place to set up so we wouldn't get stuck in the mud, made sure we had everything we needed, and stopped over to check in and chat multiple times. He made us feel very safe and welcome, and was overall a really great experience.

We loved camping on David’s land. He was very helpful showing us to a site that would work for our car as we were visiting for the solar eclipse. He and others also dug us a fire hole and provided dry hay to make tent camping more comfortable. Such a great experience!

It was a beautiful spot for stargazing, but mostly importantly, the host is absolutely amazing. I’ve never felt so comfortable in a camping spot before. It was actually my first time camping because I was going to see the solar eclipse. David is such a kind man and I was a little nervous at first because I’ve never rented a spot to camp before, but once I met him, I was very pleased. He came to check on us and was so kind to everyone. Gave us firewood, hay bail, farm fresh eggs, and overall just an amazing time! Truly excited to book again in July for a festival he was telling us about. He even told us to put the hay bail underneath the tent so the cold ground wasn’t affecting us as much and it worked so well! My friend also came in last minute and was so welcoming! Truly a great host, a great person, and a kind soul. His land was huge and secluded so it wasn’t very noisy at night. Thank you David for making us feel safe and welcomed!
