The bunkie is absolutely beautiful and you can’t ask for a better location.

Our visit to the Stillwater Bunkie was a great few days! We had private access to a lake, a well-maintained firepit and composting toilet, and a cozy bunkie. Despite being out at the Bunkie in mid-November, we were able to keep very warm inside the Bunkie with the wood burning stove and the provided propane heater. The Bunkie and property came stocked with lots of thoughtful supplies (ex some basic dishes and cutlery, water for washing dishes and 4L of drinkable water per day, blankets, pillows, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, BBQ, firewood, marshmallow roasting sticks, axe, etc). The sofa bed and loft bed were very comfortable! The use of the fridge in their garage and a portable power station in the Bunkie are huge bonuses that many other listings don't provide. The listing mentioned an outdoor shower which we thought would be working but wasn't connected. Not a big deal for a few days but it definitely changed how we planned to keep clean and fresh. Colin was very easily accessible via messaging on this app and was quick to provide any extra supplies we required during our stay (for example, a garbage bin as listed in their welcome/info binder provided inside the Bunkie). Overall, we enjoyed our time out at the Stillwater Bunkie and I would recommend it to others! See

Such an amazing experience. The bunkie is stunning and the views are incredible. Pictures do not do it justice. Great host, great location, just a great experience overall. Would recommend.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Bunkie! It had everything we needed and the views were incredible. It was so peaceful and felt very private. The weather wasn’t the best but we made the most of it. Next time we hope to stay for even longer :)

We LOVED it here. Very scenic! Very charming! Very cozy! The host provided everything we could have needed and access to the fridge was such a great asset. If you are into birding, this is the place for you! We saw cranes, herons and one really persistent kingfisher. You can really tell that they have put a lot of care in this place and the added little touches of care like the warm outdoor shower and the beautiful and ingenious bottle mosaic/stained glass added the perfect touch of whimsy. Overall, we really did not get stung that bad and the outhouse was really clean and accessible. Access to the canoe was really a great plus, too! I would definitely recommend who want some good ol peace and quiet ! Thank you again for letting us stay here!

My wife and I loved everything with the bunky. Everything was so calm and so clear, the shower worked very nicely, the fire pit was in perfect condition when we got there which was a nice touch, and to top it off the hosts were super friendly and nice to answer all our questions and help out when we needed it. The only downside was there were quite a few mosquitoes out, but they seem to go away with a little bug spray, and it's kinda to be expected when you're staying at a place known as stillwater.

The place was magical. All the necessary amenities were available also the host is helpful with any other needs. The water had so many white lotus which was the best part of our trip. We will definitely come back here.

Our two night stay at the Stillwater Bunkie was in absolute delight. The location was stunning - situated overlooking a large, clean pond with water-lillies, frogs, and home to a pair of Great Blue Heron nesting at the Northern end of the pond.
The Bunkie had high quality appointments and was thoughtfully and tastefully furnished - cosy with a rustic charm, but at the same time very clean and modern. We appreciated the solar battery for charging our devices and running the fan they provided for the warmer night. Although it had a loft bed, we chose to use the pull-out and it was a very comfortable sleep. With windows on three sides and a patio door overlooking the water, views of the natural surroundings were all around, and getting a good flow of air was a breeze (excuse the pun)!
The outdoor shower was an appreciated touch and had plenty of hot water. The composting outhouse was one of the best we've used to date, clean, well-lighted for nighttime, and odour free. In addition, our host, Colin, was very attentive to all our questions and concerns. We would not hesitate to return to The Stillwater Bunkie.

We took our 16 year old away for some nature along with relaxation and it was exactly what we needed. 4 nights and we were getting into the routine of living a little simpler. Everything is clean and felt new. The evenings were cool and days we’re hot. There’s an indoor fireplace for winter nights as well. Sauble Beach is 15 mins away. Southampton is even closer. The solar power charging unit was awesome to plug in the fan and charging anything. I was able to make my morning smoothie with the little hand blender I had. Shower was great! The guys loved the canoe & kayak.
My husband mentioned how it felt private to us. What a gem. 💎 We wish Colin and his family the greatest success as they offer their outdoor space for others to enjoy.

Cozy bunkie, friendly host. All essential things are provided. It was raining all day long during our stay but we had some relaxing time (with propane heater provided!) staying in the site.

Had a nice solo stay, place was clean and well cared for. The pond is large and has different birds coming and going all day. Really enjoyed sitting on the porch watching them :) The bunkie is private but close enough to the house to feel safe in the evenings. Would stay again 100%. Thanks

A beautiful getaway from the city! The view is everything. From all the varieties of birds that are constantly giving a show to the spotless and well kept cabin that had all the attention to detail. We stayed 3 nights which was the perfect amount of down time to reset. Although the outdoor shower hadn’t been hooked up yet, our camping shower did the trick and it was great to have a spot for this. The outhouse was emptied daily and always 100% spotless! We truly enjoyed our stay and recommend it to anyone looking to unplug and relax for a few days!

The bunkie is in such a beautiful, quiet spot! Such a cute and cozy place. The wood stove is certainly a lovely touch for an autumn weekend. We loved watching the birds on the water from the porch and going for a little paddle too.

The Bunkie is so sweet, clean and spacious with all the amenities a camper needs and more. Although there is no running water we were given well water to wash our dishes and jugs of drinking water. Provided bbq and a butane stove top for cooking. There is a fire pit with plenty of wood for campfires. There is also lighting along the path to the bunkie, in case you come in late or need to access the fridge after dark. Inside there’s a propane heater and a battery powered fan. A rechargeable battery that will run the indoor light string and/or charge your devices. I can’t say enough about Colin and Sandra, they were exceptional hosts, that provided an amazing Hipcamp experience.

Where to begin…the bunkie is so sweet, clean and spacious with all the amenities a camper needs and more.
There is an outdoor shower, with a view of the pond. The shower works beautifully with plenty of hot water.
There is an outhouse that does not smell Seriously! They use wood chips or sawdust and change out the waste bin every day or every other day.
Colin and Sandra gave us access to a fridge in their garage that made food storage so much easier.
Although there is no running water we were given well water to wash our dishes and jugs of drinking water.
There is also a bbq and a butane stove top for cooking. There is a fire pit with plenty of wood for campfires. There is also lighting along the path to the bunkie, in case you come in late or need to access the fridge after dark.
We were two adults that shared the pull out couch, there’s also a loft where one or two small adults could sleep.
Colin and Sandra supplied the bedding and extra blankets.
Inside there’s a propane heater and a battery powered fan. A rechargeable battery that will run the indoor light string and/or charge your devices. There’s a dish rack, drying rack, dish cloths, a set of 4 plates, cups, spoons and forks, a pot, matches a lighter, battery operated lights and probably more. Except for the heater these were the things we used on our 5 night stay.
I can’t say enough about Colin and Sandra, they were exceptional hosts, that provided an amazing 1st time Hipcamp experience. 💯 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We’ve been travelling around the world for the past 8 months & Colin’s Bunkie makes our top 5 favourite accommodations! It was incredibly surreal being so close to the water, we even saw frogs, the baby painted turtles that they had just released into the wild, all sorts of birds & heard coyotes at night! I can’t get over how special the location is. The sunset over the water was incredible each day & the full moon & starry nights and were unbelievable. The bunkie itself was so cosy & comfortable. It had everything we could need (except a sharp knife to cut fruit). The composting toilet didn’t smell at all & the hot outdoor shower was such a special experience. We slept on the sofa bed be a use I’m a little short & found it difficult to use the ladder for the loft, but Colin said the permanent ladder is on its way 🙌🏽 The bunkie is at the end of a long path and feels really secluded from the main property. The Alexander family are so kind & welcoming we really felt at home. We only regret not booking longer there!

Colin and his partner are really pleasant hosts and are very helpful. They even provided us with Canoes at the lake by the bunkie which made our stay very enjoyable.

My girlfriend and I loved our stay at the bunkie, the views are amazing. This property is beautiful. It's a small piece of paradise that we had a pleasure to experience. The host was wonderful, very informative, checked in during while we were in/ out of the bunkie to make sure we had everything. We would love to come back again to stay in the bunkie.

We loved to stay there! It's clean, quiet retreat with a ‘hands off’ approach. It's also close to great beaches on Huron. Comfortable Bunkie at the private pond, nice firepit and hot water shower - sounds perfect for me!
