PJ and Michelle always offer wonderful hospitality. They have spent a great effort into updates to the cabin, such a new flooring on the first floor and new furniture. It feels very homey and relaxing. It is a great place to relax, recharge and catch up with family or friends. We look forward to this weekend every year!

What a great place. So much to explore. I enjoyed it greatly.
The cabin is cozy, and there are acres of privacy; the scenary is beautiful. There is plenty of space inside the cabin for people to walk around, get comfy, and eat a hearty meal. The upstairs has 2 beds that are at queen-sized. There are plenty of books and DVD movies, a wall-mounted TV, 2 big sofas (3 seat and 2 seat), a massive bean bag, and a dining table. The restroom includes a toilet, sink, bathtub shower, and a washer and dryer. The kitchen has a mini fridge with a freezer, dual sink, microwave, gas stove, coffee maker, toaster, and plenty of pots, pans, and dishware. There is plenty of heat to keep you warm in the wintertime. The place is very clean - vacuums included.
Wi-fi and cell phone signals are not really accessable at the United Cabin but they are at the host's home property, which is a 3 min drive away.
Nearby, there is a small pond, a cornfield, plenty of hills, and forests with trails.

We stayed at the A-frame this past weekend and absolutely loved it! The place was super clean and had literally everything we needed (we definitely overpacked 😅). There was plenty of firewood for us, which made hanging out by the fire so nice.
PJ was awesome — super friendly, available if you need anything, and honestly willing to go the extra mile to make sure your stay is perfect. When we arrived, a few lights weren’t working, and he was super concerned it might ruin our stay. He even offered to come fix them right away, but it really wasn’t an issue for us at all.
We also loved that we could bring our dogs! They had the best time running around off leash and exploring. Cell service isn’t great out there, but honestly, that was exactly what we needed — the perfect little disconnect.
This was our first time using the Hipcamp app, and it couldn’t have been a better experience. We’d 100% come back again!

I'll tell you, the pictures are great but they don't do justice to the peace and comfort this place brings.
When we arrived the camp host told us to ask for anything we needed, and they held true to that. The property has tons of places to hike. Everything around you is gorgeous. The beds are comfy, and the cabin is warm.
There's no wifi or cellular signal, which was a benefit in my opinion.

Great spot to relax. Our family (and dog) really enjoyed the stay. We did some short hikes on the property, fished, and relaxed around the fire. Host was quick to respond and very helpful.

My 2 littles and I stayed here for our yearly mommy & little escape and had the best time! The cabin was in such a peaceful area, but so much to explore! Everything we needed was available and it was very comfortable. The kids loved the little fishing pond too! PJ greeted us when we got there and gave us the background information on the place; which was very interesting. He made us feel welcome and was available when needed! We will definitely return! Thank you for a wonderful weekend getaway!

This place is a gem! So cozy and private! Kitchen is stocked and great for cooking. The nature around the cabin is lovely, great spot on top of hill for sunset and moonrise! The host was very nice and accommodating. You can here some noise from road but there isn’t much traffic so it’s not bad. We had an amazing stay and will be returning!

The cabin was very nice, well designed, clean and comfortable. The land and woods surrounding were beautiful, and it was a very peaceful spot. There was lovely attention to detail and accommodations in the cabin, everything was clean and well stocked, the heating and cooling were taken care of, and there were games and a nice DVD selection to choose from. This was a great spot to unplug and get away for the weekend, and we would definitely stay again!

The United Cabin
The United Cabin was a perfect getaway for our family! The Aframe was perfect for our 2 night stay, providing all the necessary items needed for our weekend. We took advantage of near by spots like Honey Run waterfall and explored the grounds and fished in the pond.

Our vist to Michelle & PJ'S cabin was relaxing and enjoyable!
Pj arrived shortly after our arrival to show us a few things needed to make our stay more pleasant. Also a bit of family history of the property.
For example; how to open the newly installed back door (among other things) which opens completely to bring the outdoors right into the living room!
Even without a screen it was outstanding, as there were no bugs to speak of, over than the occasional sink bug which finds themselves a way in no matter what.
He also pointed out a hiking trail/logging path which we, and our dogs enjoyed.
He also made it very clear that he was available to bring us anything any time, be it more wood, to runnig out of salt. Though the cabin was well stocked with everything needed for our weekend stay.
We have stayed in much higher priced cabins that were not stocked as well.
After the meet & greet we never saw him again. (As it should be)
Our dogs, which are used to being off leash, had the run of the place. Our lab mix found the pond and creek on her own...lol and roamed the woods and fields. While indoors they loved laying on the deck watching the leaves fall and watch wildlife.
We were also very comfortable on the deck, or inside enjoying the outdoors.( the door) lol
We had fires indoors and out, very relaxing.
I could go on and on!
If we are in that area again we will definitely rent this cabin again. You just can't beat the price!

It was nice and peaceful. We loved it and so did our little dogs they loved just running free. The cabin was great everything you needed was supplied for you dishes, pots and pans everything but your food lol. we brought things we thought we would need but it was already there.

PJ was so friendly and accommodating! We loved hearing about his dad and the history of the cabin. This was the most unique cabin we've stayed at, and loved everything about it. I think the staircase and the top light were my favorite and my boyfriend loved having a fireplace! We've never revisited anywhere because we love new experiences, but I have a feeling we'll be back to united cabin.

My kids and I just got back from the United cabin on PJ and Michelle's property and I can't say enough wonderful things about the property, cabin and our hosts! This is a stunning little oasis to unplug from reality and chill out. My kids, 16 and 14, really enjoyed hanging out and fishing and disconnecting. They didn't even fight, lol! My little dogs had a blast checking out the property as well! PJ and Michelle were just gracious hosts and awesome people to boot. It felt like we were staying with family and we were truly honored to stay at your dad's beautiful oasis in the woods. Thanks so much again and I can't wait to be back and unplug!!!

We loved staying at Michelle and PJs cabin ! It was so cozy and secluded it had everything you could need right there ! The dogs loved running around in the large grassy field , it was like our home away from home !

I loved this cabin! We spent hours talking on the back porch over the ravine, soaking in the sounds of the forest. And do not miss the short hike up the hill to the giant tree for a beautiful view and gorgeous sunsets. (If you need to connect to the outside world, you can often get service up there, too!) This place had everything you’ll need, including super cool hosts that are super kind and available to answer any questions you have. I hope to return someday!

We had a wonderful weekend at the United Cabin. The hosts were great. We arrived later then expected but PJ waited up to show us around and lead us to the site. One of the best weekend cabin stays ever!!!! Will definitely be coming back.

The Haunted Corner
Michelle and PJ'¹s land is just as it is described. Except for a little bit of road noise, mostly during the day, the site was quiet definitely secluded and maybe even haunted LOL
The stargazing was amazing thankfully we had clear skies :)

The United Cabin is such a gem! What a wonderful history to honor, and we so appreciate PJ and Michelle making the decision to share it with others. We had an absolutely idyllic few days and the dogs were free as could be to run and howl at the moon. PJ was incredibly accommodating we lacked for nothing! It was love at first sight with this place and we will definitely be back!

The United Cabin
Cabin was great, we loved it! My son caught his first fish in the pond, which he was super excited about. PJ was super nice and helpful, great host. Great campfire area, and loved that they had lots of games as well!

Cabin was beautiful, and quiet. Hosts were extremely friendly, and willing to bend over backwards to make sure we had a good stay. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Me and my family had a great time. However worth taking note. I was not aware there was no internet yet the kids lived (lol) but we also didn't have cell service for a call or txt we had to leave n go way down the road. Also take note u don't need 4 wheel if it's not raining BUT if it rains u will. So glad we had 4 wheel it rained 2 out if 3 nights. Other than that nicely stocked n u get fire wood. It's lovely

Pj’s genuine kindness and hospitality is absolutely second to none! He came for a meet and greet the first night and delivered fire wood.
He gave me a run down of the cabin, the land and the history. His dad built this cabin when he got out of the Air Force. When you walk in, you can feel the heart and soul he put into this place.
It is secluded tucked into the edge of the woods. It does sit at the bottom of the hill, a big hill. If it rains and you have a 2 wheel drive park at the top of the hill. The pond was great, we caught Several bass and countless bluegill. Plenty of room for kids and dogs to run and play outside.
Inside, when I say they thought of everything. They thought of EVERYTHING! Bathroom, towels, toiletries, dishes, cookware. Even spices.
For 2 veterans who desire to get away from people every chance we get, this place is perfect. No Wi-Fi and no cell service in the cabin. The unplug was amazing! If you do need to make a call, hike to the top of the hill. Food- mayors corner has amazing pizza and the staff is so kind.
There is also a river and dam not far up the road if you’re into fishing big catfish.
If you’re looking for an escape from civilization and unplug…. Look no further.

We were looking for a dog-friendly, quiet getaway in a peaceful location and this place delivered! Everything about our trip is why we love the Hipcamp experience. PJ is such an accommodating host and a wonderful person. We enjoyed our time talking with him. It is also comforting knowing they’re close by, since there is little cell service in the entire area. If you can’t handle fully “unplugging” this may not be your place! You have to hike up the hill for cell service. We did not view this as a negative feature! The cabin is clean and well appointed, with washer/dryer and a clean bathroom. Just bring your food and good intentions! A word of caution- the loft bedroom spiral staircase could be challenging for some. Otherwise the cabin is perfect. We came to love it more after hearing how PJ’s father built it. It’s charming and comfortable. It even has air conditioning! We enjoyed the wood deck overlooking the trees. There is a road nearby but you barely see it through the trees. You’re in the country so there aren’t many cars. Our first night we counted four in as many hours. They offer a Weber grill with propane for cooking that works great. There was even firewood waiting for the fire ring! Our favorite unexpected feature is the ice maker in the kitchen. The land is beautiful, with plenty to explore and lots of space to allow the dogs to run free. It is well worth the workout to hike up the hill for sunrise and sunset! Thank you for sharing this special place with us.

I loved the site! Very quiet during the night time, and very secluded. The couple that owns the property is very nice, as well as their pup Sam 🐶. Would definitely love to make it an annual outing. Thanks for the great trip

This cabin was almost exactly what we were looking for …but that wasn’t the property owners fault. We needed to get away from the public fireworks and noise. While there was still noise from the local fireworks, it was manageable. We enjoyed the fields and quiet that the property allowed, the freedom our pups enjoyed and the space our brains required. I would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet cabin off the phone grid.

Sasha’s Spot
We had such a great time camping at Sasha’s spot! Went there to avoid fireworks and all we heard were bullfrogs! Great spot for hanging hammocks and saw lots of wildlife. Will definitely be back!
