My boyfriend and I camped here for a night before we went climbing at pilot mountain! The camping spot is only about 20 minutes away from the mountain which made for a great morning! The sound of the river at night was very peaceful and the fire pit was a very nice touch!
We were visited by cows throughout our visit. Cow number 22 was especially friendly and we became good friends!
Plan on coming back to this camp site and would recommend it to a friend:)

If you are looking for a primitive location that has a mix of woods, river, and open land, this is a great option. The site is set up to have the campfire ring in a small offset to the river entrance with multiple good sites for your tent both in and out of shade. The cows came to visit us on Saturday morning but otherwise we never saw, heard, or smelled them. There was a decent amount of traffic at the public access across the river and some car noise from the road and bridge nearby but no car visibility. I would go back to this location just to be able to have the excellent river access for playing in.

LOVED this site. Tranquil is definitely an appropriate description. A few car noises but not enough to disturb the peace and relaxation. Perfect spot to end the day kayaking on the river.

Hannah's campsite is a great spot. We enjoyed fishing and relaxing in the river during the day, and sitting around the campfire at night. Stars were fantastic as well!

I loved this place. It's quiet, clean, a flat area for tents, with enough shade to protect from the sun, right next to the river, not too far from the road, but far enough away to enjoy peace and privacy. There's a supermarket just minutes away in case you forget something or run out of food, as well as places to eat. The address is precise and clear. Hannah is an excellent host and responded quickly to my messages and calls.
I recommend this place 100%. 😁

Peaceful flowing river, country view, flat grassy area - great spot for off road camping. Far enough away from the rd for privacy. Trees allowed sun and shade. There were a few small groups enjoying the river across from us each day and the road noise was sporadic. None were annoying. Most of the sounds were the flowing river and birds singing. Best part of the morning is watching the cows make their way to the pasture on the hill!

Great little spot for an overnight stop on the way to a wedding. We were visited by a group of calves in the morning which was really neat. Thanks for the wonderful spot!

I stayed here as a half way point traveling, and I’m actually obsessed. I will be staying here again! It’s a beautiful property, the river is right there and it was quiet all night.

Overall, it was a good experience. The area is well kept. The ground was level, the grass was cut and the fire pit was clean. The river sound was amazing. The water was a little murky from all of the recent rain, so that’s something to keep in mind. The lightning bugs were fun to watch. The stars were nice and bright since there wasn’t any light pollution. The only cons for me (beyond the owner’s control) were the traffic sounds, and what sounded like a concert a mile or two down the road, which went from about 9 PM until about midnight. I’d stay here again though. It was a peaceful experience for the most part.

Had a trip planned to this site. Pictures and reviews were amazing. We were looking forward to it so very much but unfortunately there was a burn ban in place so it didn't happen. We can't wait to rebook and camp there!

Great place to enjoy the river and star packed sky. The water was a little low but it was really fun to skim the water a couple inches above the surface. Plus the lower level provided a great noise of water rushing over rocks while we were sleeping. We found a great spot to hang our hammocks and watch the cows from a distance. It was a little cloudy at first but after it opened up the stargazing was unreal. Hannah is a great host and answered my questions quickly and had an amazing personality. Looking forward to staying again and going further down the river when it's less cold out.

Bare bones campsite but it’s awesome. Make sure to pack everything you need. Host is super responsive. I stayed in a central location for both the Ararat and Mitchell River for fly fishing, recommend if you are trying to fine a good spot to camp for fly fishing trips or just need to get away to nature.

Hannah’s property was definitely a hidden a gem! Super private/secluded even though it’s right by the main road/public access across the river. No one disturbed us while we stayed for memorial weekend! Nothing there except a fire pit so come prepared with your toiletries! The cows were super cool to see/ hear from the site! I would definitely stay again!

This was our second time staying at Hannah's campsite. We enjoyed it as much as our first stay. Perfect place to just sit and relax by a beautiful river. We enjoyed watching the comings and goings of visitors to the access across the river. Kayakers, canoers, fishermen, a family going for a cold swim, a pre-wedding photo shoot. No one there for too long, no one too loud, just folks enjoying the river. Right after dark a sheriff did go down to the river with a flashlight just to make sure all was good. It is a bare bones campsite, just a fire pit. But the perfect spot for our tiny camper. It helps to bring a short bucket with a handle and rope in order to retrieve water from the river for rinsing off sand and to keep handy by the fire pit.

Nice spot for those who like to rough it like I do. It's a peaceful as it can be even though you are right across from a public access to the Fisher River. No one bothered us for the 2 nights we were there. After 8 pm it gets really quiet except random road noise. We had a beautiful clear weekend. The stars were fantastic. Hannah is a wonderful host. Even though she was away for the weekend she was very prompt and very helpful.with replies. The site was clean and well maintained.
