This camping spot is an absolute treasure if you’re looking for a peaceful and secluded getaway. Most of the time, it feels like you have the whole place to yourself—except for the occasional person passing through to access the river. Otherwise, it’s just you, the sounds of nature, and total calm.
The river here is beautiful—clear, flowing gently, and full of fish. There’s even a small beachy area right at the edge of camp that’s perfect for launching paddleboards or just relaxing and letting the kids play. It makes for the perfect little basecamp by the water.
One of the best parts? Phil, the host, went above and beyond. He actually drove us down to a drop-in spot upstream so we could float back to our campsite without the hassle of walking our boards back. The float took about two hours, and it was absolutely stunning—just lazy river time with no crowds, no noise, and plenty of wildlife.
This place checks all the boxes: seclusion, riverfront fun, helpful hosts, and an easy return float. I’m definitely coming back—and bringing friends next time.
