Unhitch and relax in one of our secluded treed sites with water, up to 100 amp electric, and waste hookup. Due to mountain terrain driving, we do not recommend class "A" motor coaches or large toy haulers. All roads are paved to our graveled driveway. Sorry there is no tent camping available. If you have a pop up then make sure you have a porta potty, we may ask to see one. Sorry we have no restroom! Note: It is suggested that class "C" RV's bring or rent a vehicle because parking can be limited due to others during the tourist season and especially on the weekends. We are very isolated. Rentals (Enterprise Car Rentals) are available in Franklin, NC about 20 miles away. Make reservations as soon as possible. They have limited inventories and a high demand during all seasons. Because we are a smaller campground and the sites are different sizes we can not guarantee your site selection you chose while making your reservation request. When you arrive you'll have a chose of what sites are available. The host will reserve sites for the larger RV's.

Site 8 - The Deck

The "Deck" site #8 has a large deck with a picnic table and plenty room for several chairs and your portable charcoal grill. It was initially designed for a pull in motor home with all utilities on the left side as you drive in. We did add water and electric to the right side for back in RV'S, however you need an extention sewer hose to use the original set up.

Site 8 - The Deck
I'm hesitant to write the review I want to write because I want to keep this hidden gem all to ourselves! We loved everything about Sky High Ridge. It's centrally located to tons of services and things to do, but feels like a million miles from anywhere. It's quiet, peaceful, and relaxed, and Peter is a fantastic host. We'll definitely be back!

I believe Peter helped write the book on customer Service. He was great. Our campsite was awsome. no one near us. A cool mountain top breeze, a campfire and peace and quiet. We loved it and look forward to going back. Lots to do in the area, good hiking, good restaurants. This one is a gem.

Peaceful and scenic. The hookups were easy and functional. Camp host was kind and helpful - even meeting us at the entrance at night in the rain! If you can drive the mountain roads it’s a great stay.

What we loved: relatively private site, country feel, friendly host, free firewood, quiet paved roads to walk our dogs with spectacular views! What gave us pause: some sites not well kept, unpleasant odor from neighboring campsite porta-potty, difficulty pulling out of campsite, views not as expected on site.

We had the best time this weekend on Peter’s land! It was beautiful, quiet, and Peter was an amazing host. We woke up Saturday morning and my car battery was dead and Peter came to the rescue with a jump. The campsite was clean and just what we were looking for. There is a little garden which was a really fun touch. Also the firewood being available was a major plus. We’ll be coming back in a couple of weeks with our kids. They’ll love it there too!

Our stay was incredible. This is a peaceful retreat and you feel like you're in your own little world. Peter is very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. We will be back!

This is the 3rd time we’ve been to this campsite and definitely won’t be the last. There’s several hiking trails nearby, Dillard GA and Highlands are close by as well.

Very private. At the top of a mountain train near Highlands, NC. Not level but nothing you cannot handle. Peter, the host, was fantastic.

Peter met us on arrival and gave us a tour of the camp. He was helpful and welcoming. We backed our 25 footer into the hole, which was a very private site. You will need about 3-4 inches of leveling but other than that, the site was perfect.

Peter was super sweet and accommodating. He is very professional and helpful. Our pups loved running around site #1. It was nice and secluded from the other sites and had a lot of space for them to play. If we ever come thru this area again we would happily stay here again.

Site 3 - Sky High Ridge RV Campground
This was a nicely set-up small campground with a very kind host, Peter, who stays on-site. The location is within a neighborhood, but it is very quiet and feels private. There is a lovely garden on the property and little walking path that the dogs enjoyed. The sites are fairly close together, which we enjoyed because we went travelling with multiple family members. In the winter/early spring, you have a modest view of distant mountains through the leaf-less trees. When we had to leave our trip early due to unforeseen severe weather, Peter was generous enough to give a refund for those days, which was extremely nice of him! We look forward to coming back to this site in the future!

Site 1 - Sky High Ridge RV Campground
We loved camping on Peter’s land. The sites are more private than most campgrounds and set up nicely. Because the trees were still (mostly) bare this time of the year, we could see the surrounding mountains quite well. There is a nice garden next to the campground and small walking path around it. Peter was very helpful and nice. We look forward to visiting again.

Peter was excellent in his directions. When we got there he walked the park with us and we had a very nice talk. The property is beautiful and the views are amazing. We will definitely plan another trip.

Small, quiet, clean campground. Very friendly and helpful owner, Peter, is always available. No extravagant amenities, but there is a walking path, a garden, and free firewood!! Full hookups on all sites too! Definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Site 5 - The Horseshoe
We just got back from a relaxing 5 night trip here. It’s a very rustic well kept full hook up small campground. Peter was super friendly and helpful. He let us know where the free firewood was, which was A short distance on a well mowed path to the (FREE) More wood shed Also pointed out where the garden was, which had several different kind of fruit trees including, plum, apple and pear. Also was grapes and blueberry bushes - garden also had delicious tomatoes, and other edibles along with a bunch of wildflowers everywhere. Needless to say I’d highly recommend if you want to relaxing camping trip this is the place although it’s also close to many attractions including very large zip line facility close by and a tube type ride you go down during both winter and summer, they have it set up pretty cool. Just asked Peter he’ll let you know where everything is including some great restaurants although we never left the campsite because we just enjoyed camping there but next trip we plan on going into some of the places he recommended when we were there we were the only ones camping which really was surprising. Again, I recommend you give it a try if you wanna rustic campground with well maintain Paved mountain roads. Had no issues with any type of bugs as in mosquitoes there was none.

This is the second time we've stayed here and absolutely love it. It is quite and very secluded with all the amenities. Peter is a great host. Lots of things to do close by, including Rabun Bald which is absolutely breathtaking at the top of the lookout tower.

Site 1 - Sky High Ridge RV Campground
This was an excellent campground all around. For most of our stay, my wife and I were the only guests on the property. Even when there were other people there, the sites are spread far enough apart that we had plenty of privacy. The free firewood and community garden are an excellent touch. Peter was an excellent host and made sure that we had everything we needed. We will most definitely stay at this camp ground again.

We enjoyed our stay at Peter's place. Each site is very private, very well thought out with beautiful trails to explore. Peter was informative, kind and accommodating. Overnight was comfortably cool in early August. It was quite a climb for our van but well worth it.

Site 2 - Sky High Ridge RV Campground
The view was not scenic. The only things I could see were close trees and clouds. There is a nice garden, paved roads to walk on and a very nice friendly host. It was very isolated, which I wanted, but more so than I expected.

Very nice area to camp in, cool weather in the mountains compared to the hot summer we have in town. Nice secluded sites and lots to do with walking trails, nice garden area, and little towns not far away. Peter, the host, was most helpful and goes out of his way with any issues you may need help with!
