Overall it was a good experience. We were looking to have a private camping experience in the woods, and that's what we got.
Didn't love that the entire surface of the campsite was gravel, it would've been nice if there were at least a couple tent pads cleared out. Make sure to bring extra padding if you are planning to sleep on the ground.
Didn't love that the toilet was a toilet seat perched on a couple boards over a trash bag in a tent shaped tarp that was filled with spider webs with one chewed up roll of toilet paper inside. We didn't use it at all, instead opted to dig holes in the woods or wait until we went into town.
It wasn't communicated to us until we got there that the entrance gate had a code, we had to wait for the host to message us, so make sure you get that from the host before your arrival.
Again, overall it was nice, I liked the faint river sounds while I slept, but hypothetically if I were ever to go camping around Boone again, I probably wouldn't book this spot.

It was nice, but not exactly what we were expecting. The property is 14 acres but the area where cars go/ what would be considered the campsite is right by the road, so you don't really get the feel if a 14 acre property. The trails were pretty short. That been said, we didn't venture off to go backwoods camping or off trail. The creek & picnic area shared with the neighbors is really pretty! Lovely place all together.

Nice spot close to hiking and waterfalls. There are nice restaurants and breweries nearby. We found it no problem. The site was good size for our van. Nice fire ring and picnic table. The common river area is about 15 walkable hike on the private road and really nice. A few other campers came up the road Friday night. Found the site quiet with lots of birds and insects chirping. Saw blue ghost fireflies! Would recommend.
Oh, dry toilet is awesome. Not smelly, bonus!!!!

Rejuvenation River & Mtn Campsite
Our 2nd trip to Rejuvenation River & Mtn. After a couple of stressful months we needed a quick mtn getaway to unwind. Sit by a campfire with coffee in the morning kind of thing. While the things we liked about our first trip still apply, i.e. not too far from home, great location close to the Parkway, comfortable site, our problems this time were with the host. Not even sure who that is. The property is owned by Duyukta Trust, but someone else mentions meeting a Terry, who taught them how to fish. Not sure who Terry is but I don't think the host lives nearby. We were supposed to receive a gate code at least 24 hrs before our reservation. Sent emails and HC messages the night before and early that morning asking for the code with no reponse. We finally got it 1 hr before check in time. 3 hrs after we had planned to hit the road. We had already started to unpack. We quickly headed out. But things went down hill from there. Incorrect instructions on how to get in the gate. Almost turned around to go back home. Got to the site, which was clean, but realized the firepit was unusable. It was covered up with downfall and was a mound of old ashes and coals. So the issue here is host negligence of the site and total lack of communication. In 5 yrs of using Hipcamp, this is the only site where the host did not provide a cell phone # for quick communication and emergencies. I am not trying to dissuade campers from coming here. Only prodding the host to do better.

The hosts were fabulous! There was a buzzing sound coming from the fright container and they drove three hours one way to come fix this issue. The spot is best for probably two car tents and one normal tent. The small drive to the river was well worth it. I had a large suv front wheel drive and it made it down and up the hills.

We car camped and it was amazing! It was so peaceful and the hosts were so gracious. The creek was gorgeous and we got some really good rock climbing exercise in. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Great spot to get some rejuvenation. The cleared area for tent camping was a little snug with our larger tents but we were comfortable. The latrine was a plus. Going down the trail under the forest canopy or down to the river were very nice ways to cool off during a balmy summer weekend. There was some firewood but the listing is accurate that it is not much and not guaranteed. There was very good, dry wood at a gas station just down the road (much cheaper than the food lion nearby). The traffic on the road was a bit more than anticipated since you are fairly close to it but no disturbances at night. Overall we had a nice weekend enjoying the nature at Rejuvenation River.

We loved the privacy! It is very close to the road which at first was a concern, however we only saw 3 cars and you have to go so slow on the road it didn't impact us negatively in any way. The dogs loved having such a huge space to roam. It was very very peaceful. The river areas were nice to cool down in and easily accessible. It's very shaded and hardly any bugs or flies. The only issue we had was with the toilet, it was almost full when we got there so we couldn't really use it.

This is a great site! We were able to get three bulky overlanding equipped Toyotas up there easily and spaced out without issue. The host is very communicative and the instructions are very easy to follow. Highly recommend this campsite!

My husband and I were searching for a remote site for our babys first camping trip and enjoyed our two night stay in this property.
Pros: This site provides privacy and solitude. Secluded spot with a small table, chairs, fire pits, and toilet. We did have some firewood at our site, but it was wet so glad we had brought our own. Pets allowed- our dogs enjoyed their time too!
It seems the site provides other services such as river walking/nature walks, yoga, a cabin that can be rented, option for retreats- and more.
Hosts send detailed info on how to get to the site.
Cons: The first gate to get into the initial property was somewhat difficult to maneuver. There is no direct river access from the site or through trails off of the site, but the hosts provide this explanation prior to the stay.

The land is beautiful but I found some of the photos/descriptions a bit misleading. While it says you can camp “anywhere” the land is steep and dense with trees except for a small section near the gate/a shipping container. The composting toilet also smells quite bad when the wind blows. The River access near the aux parking is right on someone’s property line and the other river access is for the community. We enjoyed our stay and the community river access is beautiful, but be aware of these details!

Rejuvenation River was a great camping site. Very private and secluded. Instructions on how to get to the site were very helpful and easy to follow. Getting up the gravel road to the site was doable in our 2wd cars but the road further down to the community river access is best left for 4wd. Would stay at rejuvenation river again.

The campsite and directions from the hosts were both fantastic! However, our experience was disrupted by other people on the road. We saw 7 different vehicles driving down the road throughout the night as late as 11 pm. The campsite is very close to the road which made this impactful. There was also a dog down the hill that barked through out the night. The site alone I would recommend, but personally hoped for a quieter experience.

We had a blast! Definitely coming back!! It’s secluded and you feel further away than you really are. The location was easy to find and the river was beautiful! We had 2 cars, 3 campers and 2 dogs. The ground is gravel, so if you tent sleep make sure that you bring a mattress pad or an air mattress. There is another camp site if you follow the trail, which was nice if you all don’t want to sleep around each other. My dogs had a blast roaming the property & I wasn’t worried about them the whole weekend. I think a total of 3 cars drove up the road while we were there. The river is beautiful & I definitely recommend exploring it and the swimming hole.

Quiet and private space with a view (through the trees). If you want your car close by, there's really only one level place by the shipping container to put a bigger tent and there will be gravel and roots underneath. So definetly recommend smaller tents to find a nice spot. In the immediate area of the latrine I didn't see a lot of level spots.
As other's have said, steep terrain to hike and river acces is best done by car. We had a good time there and it was a good place for us to go do some daytrips.

Great privacy and good proximity to fishing spots. The camp area isn’t huge but we managed to fit a truck camper, another truck, and an suv on the site. This left very little flat ground for tents, but we managed to squeeze three of them in. There is a tight hairpin turn on the drive that could be tough for larger vehicles. My truck camper/truck measure at 22 feet long and it was probably about the max length you would want to go. It was nice having gated access and community is very quiet. Bring firewood. There is some deadwood but the grading makes it difficult to get to and haul back. We didn’t hike the property much but there’s a good bit to be explored. The stream at the base of the property is very scenic, and somewhat fast moving. You can hear the water rushing from the site at the top of the hill. Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely stay here again.

Hosts communications and instructions on finding the land were clear and easy to follow. Very peaceful and we only saw a couple cars the whole day. The community access area of the river was secluded and the kids had a blast. Met a couple other residents while there. Warned us of high bear activity in the area and to be very bear aware during our stay. Not much of a flat area to setup a (large) tent at the top campsite. Smaller backpacking style tents would be ideal or as many hammocks as you could bring. Kids enjoyed exploring the woods and the trails that are cut throughout the property. The compost/pit toilet was covered in spider webs and ants (nobody’s fault) so we were more comfortable using the woods. Overall this was a very positive experience, and a place we would surely return to. Thanks for sharing this beautiful place with us!

Rejuvenation River is a great spot! The camp feels very remote and private, yet is not far from Miller’s Creek or West Jefferson if you want to do some small town exploring. Some may have trouble with the lack of bathhouse or on-site running water, but for me and my group it was a worthwhile trade off for having 14 acres all to ourselves, multiple tent site options, and river access. The place was exactly as advertised - we brought firewood just as the host suggests in case there is none there. And had no trouble finding more in the area when needed. You can even hear the rushing of the small waterfalls just down the mountain. Glad to have found this place!

when the host says there is firewood near the first campsite, i feel like she should clarify that it is indeed not contained in black trash bags. Because human actual feces from the composting toilet was in those bags, we figured this out while we were elbows deep shoveling into our fire. This is compounded by the fact we had no running water to wash hands. You might think “we’ll just use the river!” - WRONG. the river is two road crossings and over a mile down a steep butt mountain away. Im aware that our stupidity isn’t necessarily our hosts fault but i feel like that maybe should have been clarified.

Beautiful views of the mountains with easy access to the river for fishing or a summer time dip. The common area is perfect for that group campfire by the river and a short drive from the campsite. Safe campsite with two locked gates to go through and neighbors were friendly and welcoming.

Great campsite! Relatively remote location with beautiful views, but quick 30 min drive to West Jefferson. Gate is locked at all times, so it is very safe, especially for pet owners. The river is beautiful, but is at the base of the property along the main road. Campsite half way up the hillside, with a steep trail to access the river or you can hop in your car and drive down to the entrance.

We were looking for a quick place to camp close to the Blue Ridge Parkway for an overnight leaf peeping trip. This was the perfect site for our small tearddrop camper. The road up is winding and steep but our Outback had no trouble getting the camper up there. Though it may be tight for wider, longer campers, as would navigating the campsite. It was very quiet and the elevation offers nice morning and evening sun through the trees. And you can hear the river down below. We did not explore the trails but the campsite sits on a knoll at the top of the property and seems to drop off pretty steeply down in all directions. Not sure where else you could camp unless there are level spots near the river, or you like hammocks. We did drive down to the end of the road where there is community access to the river, which is a really beautiful spot. Would be a great place to spend a hot summer day in the swimming hole at the foot of the small cascades. Definitely need to bring your own firewood, and plenty of water (enough to douse your fire if leaving for the day). Just an FYI, the main campsite is not near the river, the river is at the foot of the mountain. But still a really nice site.

Thoughtful owner, good communication. Nice and private and quiet campsite, just as we wanted. However, the trails cut for hiking were too steep for all but the most fit camper to manage and the gorgeous river was littered with uncleared dead trees that spoiled what should have been a gorgeous view of the falls and rock formations along the creek.

This is the closest to back country camping that is still car accessible that you can get. Very quiet and beautiful area. We only saw two other vehicles the entire trip. The cool mountain water of the creek was refreshing! About 20 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, which made day trips super easy.
