Unfortunately, my experience with this stay was very disappointing. The listing did not match what was advertised, and several key aspects were misrepresented or missing. As a result, I had to leave and did not use the site as planned.
I reached out to the host immediately and requested a refund. Despite multiple follow-ups and involvement from Hipcamp support, I am still waiting on a resolution.
If our expectations were simply wrong, I wouldn’t be asking for a refund. This was just false advertising, deceptive business practices. They expected my wife and I and two dogs and two kids age 5 and 6 to park our RV for 4 nights on a grass and dirt parking area next to a bunch of farm workers, free, roaming chickens, a pigpen literally 100 yards away from us with flies everywhere, and tractor equipment, and unsafe objects. They acknowledged that this is the workers area of the farm, and they were hoping we could make it work.
At this point, I’ve been left in limbo, waiting for a resolution for weeks. I’m frustrated that I’ve had to consider a chargeback just to get my money back for a stay that didn’t happen due to no fault of my own.
I hope Hipcamp improves its support system and holds hosts more accountable for honoring refund commitments and accurately representing their listings.
On a side note, my kids noticed the worker RV next to us had a fire pit with several Harry Potter books in it. Not exactly a family, friendly environment, and quite jarring for my children.

We discovered the Blue Ridge Ranch 2 years ago! Ever since we keep coming back...our favorite place to camp and get away! As soon as we pull onto the property our stress melts away. The most beautiful slice of heaven....and the owners and operators are equally wonderful!

The farm setting includes barns, animals, fields, creeks, and farm equipment, but also has plenty of rugged woods with simple to more aggressive trails. I highly recommend taking the guided tour. It includes some really interesting history about the land.
I really enjoyed my peaceful time (again, 2nd time) and plan to return soon!

Beautiful place to camp at. This place is very peaceful and quiet too. The river is refreshing if you want to take a dip in the water. Very friendly hosts also. Highly recommend staying here.

We had an amazing time at Blur Ridge Ranch. It a very laid back vibe and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The staff were very pleasant and helpful (Will and Darren). We took a 1 mile hike up to the waterfall on both mornings. The campsite was clean and had everything we needed. Door from the farm was excellent, I suggest buying..

Our stay with RV hookup was wonderful! Nanette, Troy and all the personel we met were very friendly, attentive and helpful. No cell service starting a few miles out, but at the RV site, we had good WiFi. VERY beautiful property, with 5 ponds, mountain streams/waterfalls, lots of hiking trails scenery. Golf carts to rent, a small storefront at entrance with bagged ice, meats, eggs, jellies and lots of other goodies for sale. The Gunpowder hot sauce is great! We took the farm tour with Troy and really enjoyed getting to see/hear about the history of the property and meet many of the farms friendly animal residents. Great stay! Great people working for a wonderful cause! Thank you and we hope to be back again soon!

You will want to stay longer here when traveling. The owners have great energy and really help to make you comfortable. The land is clean, well maintained, beautiful greenery, beautiful streams. Plenty of fishing, plenty of hiking, open fields to run, golf carts available, big blue skies, mountains circle you, general store available. Highly recommend! Great place for couples, kids, dogs, bicycling.
When traveling, Be advised that if you are coming from Wilkesboro, Nc that you need to turn on a road before Mt Zion on your Gps. There is rough, cliff like, windy dirt road that you should avoid. If you enter a dirt road do not go on it. Turn around and use your map to find another road that connects. The ranch has a paved road. Have fun!

This property was absolutely gorgeous! Nanette and Troy out did themselves with the amount of generosity and thoughtfulness shown to my family while camping. There is so much to do on the property my family of 5 was very entertained and happy. We will 100% be back!

Beautiful spot! Great host. Spot #1 is the closest to the pond and I would say is the best spot. No cell service on Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile, but they offer free Wifi at the store/check-in area which is a short walk if you need connectivity. Wifi will not service the RV sites though. 10/10 stars!! Wish we could have stayed longer!

Hidden Jewel in the mountains. Private spacious sites with plenty to do and see. Wish we could've spent more time to enjoy it all. We will be back.

Blue Ridge Ranch is a combination of charm and adventure. Nanette and her staff were extremely welcoming and helpful - a contagion that resulted in friendly waves and conversations with staff and campers alike throughout my stay.
I camped with my two dogs and took full advantage of hiking trails, swimming in the crystal clear creeks, and taking pics with incredible scenery, farm animals, waterfalls, and even "Big Betty" (hopefully got the monster military vehicle's name right). I also used my Jeep to drive the grounds and adjoining single lane dirt road beyond the camp on Mt. Zion Rd. (Sometimes a bit scary, but also very scenic).
Definitely an off-grid experience with almost no cell phone service and remote location (although there was decent wifi to check in on the world when I wanted to). I camped in a slide-in truck camper and was therefore tethered to an electrical cord at a RV site, but there are many tent options including some really remote locations.
I didn't research the supported charities or farm work, but that just adds to the charm.
I continue to score big with my HipCamp selections and Blue Ridge Ranch is no exception. This is immediately a favorite that I hope to visit again

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the ranch. It’s peaceful and quiet and so much to explore. We didn’t have time to do it all. The amenities (camp store) are perfect. Just what you need if you forget something. But most of all it was a pleasure to meet the owners. They are super nice and accommodating. We can’t wait to return with more time for everything!

Incredible! Myself, wife, and our two teenagers spent the night on this beautiful land. We enjoyed everything about our stay from the fishing, 4x4 trail, hiking, speaking with the owners/staff, seeing and petting the livestock, and, of course, camping!
It is a large property with several hiking trails leading to beautiful views and waterfalls. We also explored a 4x4 trail with our Jeep Wrangler (JKU) - probably a 3 trail rating, highly recommend 4 wheel drive and at least 4 inches of ground clearance. The stocked ponds are terrific for sharing in a good time around the water with poles. In the Overland Glamping experience for 4 the rooftop tents were clean and comfortable. They provided all the necessary cooking and eating utensils, two bundles of wood for the campfire, ice in the cooler, and chairs to sit and relax around the fire. All we needed to bring was food and bedding. All of the campsites were well spaced to provide ample privacy.
The only downside I can think of is I wasn't aware of the optional rentals they have available onsite. It is possible to rent/buy fishing poles, bait, ice, fire wood, and just about anything needed to be comfortable on the property.
I cannot recommend this campground highly enough. Whether it is a single night or a week adventure there is plenty to do and explore while having the space, scenery, and tranquility to relax.
Take the tour to learn about the history of the land and the wonderful cause behind the business!

RV Camping in Blue Ridge Mountains
We had a wonderful time on the Ranch. Beautiful place to spend the weekend. We enjoyed fishing and hiking the day away. We will be back. Recommend anyone coming. Suitable for all ages.

Very much enjoyed our stay at The Blue Ridge Ranch! We stayed at the Overland site near the river which was beautiful! Troy and Nanette were super friendly and accommodating (and Jenn too!). We enjoyed their farm raised chicken and eggs as well and Troy gave us a nice tour as well! We will definitely be back to visit!
