We invite you to enjoy one of our two full hookup RV sites which includes 20/30/50 amp service, sewer, and water at each campsite. Our pads are extra wide, level, and extra long complete with a fire pit and picnic table. Sites are located in a grassy field surrounded by forest. Our 70 acre property boasts scenic views, two small ponds with fish to feed, and marked hiking trails. This is a perfect place for star gazing. It's our hope that you will find genuine peace and relaxation here. Due to requests a second site was created in February '22. This is a perfect place for two families to enjoy this acreage all to themselves. Please see photo denoting the location of site 1 and site 2. Each site is booked independently. If you should ever decide that you want to leave this quiet haven, consider an adventure to: NASCAR North Wilkesboro Speedway 18 miles, Wilkesboro/N. Wilkesboro (Merelefest, Faithfest, Brushy Mountain Apple Festival) 16 miles, West Jefferson 28 miles, Stone Mountain State Park 24 miles, Boone 43 miles, Tweetsie Railroad 46 miles, Grandfather Mtn 56 miles, Mt. Airy (Mayberry) 53 miles. We have had several 40+ft rigs stay with us with no issue. For those not accustomed to mountain travel or new drivers please know that travel off NC 18 on the state road is a typical two lane paved mountain road with curves, some of which will require you to swing wide, a couple of areas of moderate incline but that does not exceed 8%, a short state maintained gapped section of gravel and an occasional low hanging branch. At the campsites there is a slight incline and some loose gravel. Caution: Wildlife present in the area including bear, bobcat, deer, turkey.

This space has been so beautifully and thoughtfully designed and very well kept. The peace and tranquility of the area were wonderful, the views were spectacular. We camped with friends so it was a perfect set up. There are a myriad of trails to wonder through and several points of interest. We hope to go again next year! Thank you both for your hospitality!

This was by far the most peaceful camping trip I have experienced. Janet and her husband’s property is absolutely stunning. Truly a little piece of heaven. They have thought of absolutely everything. It was like camping in a state park with only two sites. Thank you Janet and Matthew for being such welcoming hosts!

I absolutely love this campsite! So private and quiet. Janet and Matthew are the most incredible hosts ever. Janet always greets you with a vase of flowers. They are quick to respond if you need anything but are totally unobtrusive otherwise. If you'd like to get away from everything, this is the place to be!

3rd year in a row - amazing property and Janet and Matthew are such gracious hosts! The property is meticulously maintained, great trails and close to Wilkesboro. The night sky is breathtaking. Our favorite spot by far!

The space was so well maintained. With only 2 spots and spread out we felt very secluded and private. We loved the campfire ring on the back of the space under the tree cover. We did have a problem getting our camper up the entrance hill but they were great, got a tractor and pulled us up! Talk about service! They have trails on their lot but we headed out to Stone Mountain and Roaring River Vineyard for the day - would recommend both. We would definitely come back…once we have a better truck 😊

We enjoyed our trip to Janet’s land and will definitely return someday. We hiked the trails on the property and sat by the campfire at night. The RV parking spot was large and flat. The property was quiet and allowed us a peaceful weekend to recharge. The communication about our stay was timely and accurate. Thanks so much for your hospitality, Janet.

This site is my favorite on HipCamp so far! The site is meticulously maintained. The on-site trails were a real treat! Janet’s flowers are amazing! I brought my bouquet home and it’s still brightening my day. They put so much thought into this slice of heaven. We will return! The sites are spaced well apart for privacy (we had it all to ourselves). Pads were level, full hook-ups. We had ample cell coverage (Verizon). We had no worries letting our pup off leash. The open field allows for some great stargazing.

Beautiful and Peaceful. So much thought and care was put into the property. It reminded me at being a private park. My wife, labradors and I stayed on 1 site with other family members on site 2 so it was like having our own private camp ground. Large RV sites for the camper and family fun. Large grassy area between the 2 sites for activities and provide plenty of room between sites. The property is very well taken care of with easy access to trails. Labradors loved the trails and made sure we got our exercise in this long weekend. Janet's flower garden was in bloom so we took advantage with a photo shoot. Benches and tables along the trails and by the pond to enjoy. This is my new favorite campground as it is a perfect get away from the hustle and stress of work and get back to the basics of nature!

Janet and Matthew were absolutely amazing!! My brother in law found this place and asked if my husband and I would be willing to make the 4 1/2 hour drive down to it. Simple answer- yes. Extended answer- ABSOLUTELY YES! It was so worth the drive, and we’re already talking about planning another trip next year. The views were spectacular, the campsites are well taken care of, and there are plenty of trails to explore or take your dogs on! They were spectacular hosts! Made sure we had everything we needed, even provided us with some firewood! Cannot recommend this place enough, we will definitely be returning!

If you're looking for some peace and quiet this is the place. The RV pad for site #1 was more than suitable for our 17 ft camper. The open field provided a spectacular star gazing opportunity. Hosts Janet and Matthew went out of their way to ensure a wonderful experience. We enjoyed the beautiful flowers that Janet gave us upon arrival, and learning about her gardens. We also enjoyed the hiking trails around the property. We would definitely recommend this hipcamp to others.

Omg this place exceeded our expectations! The hosts were very welcoming and showed us around. The site had full hookups. Site was beautifully maintained, super quiet and secluded, beautiful trails on site and plenty of space to explore! Lots of picnic tables/benches throughout the site. Had a nice fire pit and plenty of firewood that was provided. Only two sites so felt super private. Will definitely come back!

As If You Owned 70 Acres of Nature

Amazing communication and welcoming attitude throughout. We were the only one on site during our stay but even if there was a second RV, there's a huge amount of space between the two pads. There's actually a huge amount of space to get in and out of the spots also, so there was no issue of me fighting with my wife about backing our trailer in. That's always an amazing start to a vacation. The property is very secluded. Imagine you had a 70 acre mountainside property that you could sit at in absolute silence other than an occasional car on the road or wander around on various trails. You can drive 20 minutes into town to go to the IGA or a restaurant if you wanted to. Other area sites are not much further than that. But we just sat and enjoyed the quiet. Pulling our 22 ft trailer with a Chevy Colorado gave no problems going up and down the mountain. The road is definitely narrow and winding but nothing atypical for that area. Drive slowly. It's unlikely that there's anybody behind you and we only passed one car in the opposite direction going up. There is a section that is unpaved, for reasons I don't really understand, but it's level and easy enough to negotiate. We're looking forward to getting back for some rest, relaxation and quiet.

Wonderful , private site on a beautiful property. Janet and her husband greeted us when we arrived. We were in town for MerleFest so we didn’t get to spend much time at the campsite, but hopefully we will be back and can explore the property.

We absolutely loved our stay at Janet’s place. Janet and her husband are so nice and welcomed us at the gate when we arrived. The site we stayed at (site 1) was private and peaceful. We enjoyed walking the trails and seeing the amazing views! Our site was exactly as pictured, level and clean. You can tell Janet and her husband have put their heart and soul into this place. We will definitely be back for a longer stay next time.

The hosts, Janet and Matthew, are really nice, very welcoming and helpful. The campsites are impeccably maintained. The other site was not booked while we were there, so it felt very private. But there is plenty of space between the sites, so even if both are being used, it should be a great experience. Walking the trails on the property was very enjoyable. This location is very, very quiet and peaceful. All we could hear were birds and wind :)

I am hesitant to write a review about Janet's place for fear it might start staying full all the time! This location (while a little out of the way) is so beautiful and quiet and private. Janet is so kind and accommodating if you need anything, but totally unobtrusive if you don't. The absolute perfect host!!! This is my second time here and I hope to make it at least twice a year from now on! Can not recommend high enough!!

What a beautiful site! Our hosts were so nice and met us at the gate to show us around. The grounds were clean and well maintained. They even had firewood for us. We had a perfect getaway. We will be back!

Our favorite quiet retreat

This was our second visit and it was just as perfect as our first stay. The care and attention put into this place is beyond measure. The pad and hookups are top notch and the trails are well maintained. Benchs are sporadically placed along the trails to rest or take in the nature, and we even stumbled upon a homemade water wheel near one of the ponds. It is clear a lot of love and pride are part of the maintenance. The site is perfect if you’re looking for a quiet weekend, and has become one of our favorites.
