Situated on an old farm about 8 miles and  20 minutes Northwest of downtown Asheville Firefly Ridge offers a quiet low key camping experience. The owners purposely limit the number of daily user to about one dozen. Facilities are basic with large tent sites, picnic tables, community fire ring, potable water, porta-potty and an emergency shelter for extreme weather. There is no parking at the site itself but the parking area is located 150 ft. from the tents sites. Firewood is available for purchase at the camp.       The property abuts the French Broad river but a steep climb is needed for direct access, Better access for paddle sports is located 1 mile away. And we hope to add a French Broad River Trial lean-to on the River in the future.      Groceries and restaurants together with other retail services are located in Weaverville, about 5 miles from the Camp

    Firefly Ridge campground
    A lovely spot tucked back in the woods, with great hosts. We ended up coming back for a second night! Will will definitely be returning in the future.

    This place is so beautiful and peaceful, and the owners are wonderful and generous. I couldn’t be happier to have found this gem of a place.

    Great place for hiking Mt Mitchell
    We had a very nice stay. Lois and Jack were hospitable. The bathroom was nice and clean. The campsite was clean. The site was about 25 minutes to downtown Asheville.

    Excellent hosts. Beautiful site. Brought water out to us on arrival (so nice), firewood on site, convenient with a nice remoteness. Always good to meet good people around the (spacious) communal fire pit.

    Nice little spot 15 minutes from downtown Asheville! The host are really nice people and you will love the in house bathroom. 5 stars for sure

    This place is perfect! Only 20 minutes to downtown Asheville, and very quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Lois and her husband are very friendly and helpful. They even provided us with a cooler of water, and their bathroom for campers has a separate entrance so that it's private. Very clean as well!! We will definitely be back!
