We moved here in 2013 and immediately started renovating and homesteading.  It may not look like we renovated much- but you shoulda seen it before!! Our ultimate goal was to eventually create an intentional community here, so maybe opening it up for campers to enjoy is another step in that direction.  Meanwhile, we bartered with a local CSA farmer to use the "ag field"  for two years, built a straw-bale chicken coop, dug a pond for storm-water catchment and adjoining wetland system for grey-water treatment.  The leaky and leaning barn got renovated as did the back room of the house to become an airbnb apartment. This year we'll be adding more flowers to the medicinal herb and vegetable field.  Building "glamping" sites up in the woods will be a major push this year too- so stay tuned for upgrades!

    The sites were exactly as described on the site, very basic, but a place to set up our tent and super close to downtown Asheville/W Asheville! The sites are a bit close together, but that was a bonus as we actually had two sites reserved across friend groups. We didn't have the chance to use it, but Kelly did have a nice common space set up where you could have a campfire/grill out.

    Kelly was really friendly and showed us around the camp. The solar showers and the composting toilets were great and it was so peaceful to camp there. You’re also not far from Asheville city centre so there’s plenty to do if you fancy a wander.

    Kelly was a great host! She met us at the site (even though our arrival time shifted a couple times based on traffic) upon arrival and gave us a little tour of the grounds. We had some friendly/polite/quiet neighboring tents. It is very close to downtown Asheville and many trails- a great home base to enjoy nature and all of the awesome food/beer Asheville has to offer.
