Site is an old sand pit used in the 1960's for municipal sand, Leveled in 2011, the site now is used for trailer storage and has a large turn around area for easy access. Entrance on a flat part of a town road.
Nestled amidst the vineyards, this campsite offers breathtaking views of Seneca Lake and the surrounding grapevines, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and exploration. The site is praised for its privacy, with no other campers close by, and is dog-friendly, giving it a welcoming feel for pet owners. Some visitors noted the proximity to Route 14, which can bring some traffic noise, but overall, the serene environment and the chance to enjoy nearby wineries and trails make it a favored choice. The host, Steven, receives consistent commendations for being helpful and unobtrusive, enhancing the overall pleasant experience.
Fantastic stay at Fulkerson's! I really like this spot, but it's not for everybody... Route 14 is very close so yes you hear traffic, and the entrance has a short steep slope, no problem for my rig, four-wheel drive and 15 ft camper. Anything longer than that would most likely drag on the way in or out.... We had a birthday celebration, visited Fulkerson winery. So many tasty choices and the highlight of our trip.
The view was amazing and surrounded by vineyards. Perfect spot to explore the area. Walking distance to wine tasting and some nice trails on the property.
Nice view. Easy to get to. Good walks with dogs on the property. Interesting to see the variety of grapes in the vineyard. We had a full moon, so it was especially cool with the lake lit up.. Close to things to do.
What a lovely spot in the middle of the vineyard.
You get an awesome view of the water, sunset and sunrise.
Steve lets you be. He doesn’t bother you or try to manage you like some other Hipcamp host.
We will be back next Spring for sure.
The location of this site was excellent! Easy access to Watkins Glen, multiple wineries/breweries in the area as well to explore! The site has a nice wooded area that provides privacy and some sound blocking from the road. We made it up the site driveway no problem in a 25ft Rig + a tow behind car
The views were great! If you want to camp at winery and not have to worry anyone else camping right next to you, then this is the spot for you. And they are very dog friendly. I would definitely go back.
Beautiful views of Seneca lake. Felt very private and host is great. Needed to fill my water tank and the host said I could get some from the winery, which was great! Very accommodating.
Thank you
The location is private enough and the view is so great! The stars were so bright and the moon lit up the field. Plenty of fire wood and space to lounge about. Pull up a camping chair and relax in the field all day with the beautiful views.
I highly suggest bringing some type of sun ten/pop up as there is no shaded areas.
The night was peaceful but you are close enough to the road that cars driving by all night do produce a lot of sound (almost echoing through the open field to make them sound way louder than they should). Thankfully I brought ear plugs and it helped! So I suggest the same!
Thank you for a wonderful stay, cannot wait to come back next year!
A great spot for a beautiful view of Seneca Lake. The only downside is that route 14 is about 150 yards down the hill so during the day the noise from traffic is a little annoying. At night, it's much better and never interrupted our sleep. Also, don't forget about the "Seneca Guns". You can hear those cannon sounds throughout the day. Scientists say it's natural gas being released from pockets under the lake. When the gas reaches the surface it creates a booming sound, sort of like a gunshot. Noticeable but after awhile you get used to it. We would camp there again.
The view of the lake from the vineyard was great and it was a nice sized private space. It was nice to not have to worry about the noise from other campers. There was very little foot traffic from disc golfers that we saw. It was a little tricky to know just which turnoff was the one to the site, but we were able to find it just fine.
This is a great private spot, with a beautiful views. Great location with many options for dinning and drinks. We had a great, gentle lake breeze each night that was ideal for sleeping after long hot days outside. Pulled the camper in so we looked at the vineyard and small grove of peach trees.
Awesome site with plenty space and privacy. Beautiful views of the lake and vineyards, and an easy stroll to Fulkerson or other local spots for a cold beverage. Plenty space for our pup as well - would highly recommend!
We had a great four day stay at Fulkerson Vineyards. You cannot beat the view and have the place all to yourself (no other campers). It was easy to find (we even arrived after dark and figured it out just fine) just pull up alongside the post pile (which will be to your right). If you pull to the end of the pile before you are sticking out into the field you are out of the way of the disc golf as stated. We set up our solo stove where other fires were clearly there before and it was in the perfect spot perched up on a hill. The owner was very communicative, dropping firewood at the site for our arrival, and clear directions given to the site. It was a pleasure to meet him and chat about the local region. We tried out his recommended vineyards and thoroughly enjoyed them as well as a visit to Fulkerson itself! There was a sweet woman who graciously let us sample her homemade wine while we stopped in for a tasting with them. The location can’t be beat with several wineries and some breweries all along route 14. Also be sure to check out the many beautiful waterfalls in the region. Do this before the wine tastings, lol! The town of Watkins Glen is 10 minutes south for restaurants, grocery stores, and a Walmart if needed for supplies. We will definitely be back to stay at Fulkerson as this was a great experience for us and we only scratched the surface of all this region has to offer!
Great well maintained campsite with plenty of room and amazing views of the vinyard and Seneca lake. Location close to Watkins Glen and some great wineries. Highly recommend and look forward to staying here again.
We came in our Camper Van and our stay was amazing! Very peaceful and private. The view is beautiful and morning coffee tastes even better! Steven came to say hi and was very kind letting us know about all fun things and events happening in the area. This campsite will be very hard to beat!
We loved our stay at Fulkerson’s Winery! Though were there on a Saturday in the summer, the spot was quiet and felt secluded. It was easy to navigate to, though the hill to get to the spot was a little steep. Our 22 foot Ford Transit Extended Length was able to get up and down without the rear dragging. The spot had incredible views of the vineyard and the lake down below! We can’t wait to come back!
BEAUTIFUL site!!! 10/10 would recommend staying here. Walking distance to Fulkerson winery, the view, everything was perfect.
Better signage at arrival would be helpful but it’s not impossible.
