Forest Fringe Farm is 8 acres of meadow, forest edge, and wetland in the hamlet of the original 1969 Woodstock Festival — Bethel, New York. A working land project where ecology meets creative culture, stewarded through permaculture principles and organic growing methods. The land holds meadows thick with goldenrod and milkweed. A pond edged by cattails where herons return each spring. Forest edges where deer move at dusk. A small orchard of elderberry, paw paw, and spicebush coming into its own. This is not a manicured property. It is land being tended — slowly, intentionally, season by season. We host retreats and residencies for arts organizations during the season, and open select weekends for campers seeking quiet, wildlife, dark skies, and the kind of rest that comes from being on land that is cared for. Off-grid. Low-impact. No Wi-Fi, no electricity, no noise. Just the land doing what it does.Blueberry Grove — Tent Site Your site is in the Blueberry Grove — a wide clearing surrounded by tall grasses, wildflowers, and the forest edge. Ground is natural and uneven in places, soft after rain. You are the only campers on the property. What's here: Fire pit for evening gatherings. Access to The Hex — our hexagonal activities deck for morning coffee, stretching, reading, or watching hawks circle the tree line. Composting toilet (private, odorless, maintained between guests). Outdoor shower (seasonal, solar-heated). Informal trails through meadows, forest edges, and around the pond. What's not here: Potable water — bring all drinking water. Electricity or hookups. Wi-Fi or reliable cell service. Flat, graded campsites — this is natural ground. Evenings: The meadow opens to a wide sky with minimal light pollution. Owls, crickets, distant coyotes. The kind of dark that lets you see the Milky Way on clear nights.
