Highland Meadows offers glamping tents outfitted with a queen bed, pillows, linens, porta-toilet, solar shower, small wood stove, 2 Adirondack chairs, food safe, picnic table, benches and fire pit for each unit, surrounded by the peace and tranquility of the Catskill Mountains. The property includes a 37’ ceremonial tipi, a kitchen garden, blueberry, blackberry and raspberry bushes, and a hike to a prayer pole at the top of a small mountain. In the surrounding farmlands one can find hikes, rail trail, walks, horseback riding, farmers markets, restaurants, cafes, antiquing, an August County Fair, and some wonderful art galleries and music festivals. On land originally founded by students of Hilda Charlton, a meditation teacher through whom the wonders of the universe expressed themselves to people of all creeds and all walks of life, the Land remains a place of safety and inclusion for all living beings. We aim for this by seeking to abide by the following covenants: -Doing no harm to any living creature (Ahimsa). This includes being vegetarian while on this Land. -Abstaining from alcohol and all other recreational substances while on the Land. -Following Right Speech: is it true, is it necessary, is it kind? -Practicing celibacy when on the Land. You can purchase firewood on the property, as outside firewood is not allowed.
