Camp with Friendly Farm Animals
I had such an amazing stay at Beaver Wood Farm in Swan Lake, NY. One of the best parts of the experience was definitely the farm animals, they were all so friendly and added something really special to the stay. Being able to walk around and interact with them made it feel way more personal. It’s not every day you get to enjoy that kind of connection with animals in such a peaceful setting. The property itself is beautiful, quiet, scenic, and the perfect place to unwind. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up, which made it easy to just relax and enjoy the surroundings. Waking up to fresh air, nature, and the sounds of the farm was a highlight. If you’re looking for a laid-back getaway where you can disconnect, enjoy nature, and spend time around some incredibly friendly animals, this place is definitely worth it. I’d absolutely come back again. The host Paul and Marilyn were super nice and welcoming as well!

Great place to camp with great views of the lake. Farm animals on the property are friendly and very cute. We got to bottle feed a baby calf and hand feed other farm animals, lots of fun.
At night we enjoyed cooking over campfires, stargazing with a glass of wine.
Paul and Marilyn are great hosts, look forward to visiting next summer.

This place is amazing, it’s the only HipCamp site I have ever gone back to more than once. Three trips so far and plan to go back.
The animals are very docile, the hosts are as friendly as can be but give you your space.
Plenty of room to spread out. Generous amount of wood on site for the $$$.

You have to stay here!! You will not regret it. It’s SO beautiful in the fall and the animals are all so sweet and friendly. What an amazing experience. Paul and Marilyn are so sweet and made the experience even better. I can’t wait to visit again!

So much fun! Third time going to this beautiful farm. And will be going back again. Paul and Marilyn are wonderful and the animals become your best friends. Don’t be surprised if you end up sharing your campfire with some four legged friends!

Paul and Marilyn's farmyard brand of hands-off chaos and order just works so well. Simple but thoughtful and functional touches of à la carte hospitality, and dynamic acreage allow you to tailor an experience based on your partiality for beasts and campers. P & M are lighthearted, thoughtful and spontaneous, which seemingly rubbed off on their very friendly, mostly-behaved stock. It’s a farm after all! Ten out of ten. Would do again.

Such an incredible experience. I expected to be on a small piece of land with a few animals, and we discovered a beautiful property with animals of all ages and varieties. The hosts were warm and invited guests to interact with the animals/feedings/grounds. Nothing better than to wake up to baby goats.

It was a wonderful experience. So magical to wake up and play with the animals. The goats are the cutest and they would come by to say hi. The Hosts are so nice and helpful, they've created a map with different things to do, including restaurant recommendations which I found very helpful. I would definitely go back!

What an amazing weekend. Paul and Marilyn were SO sweet and gave us a detailed virtual map and a welcome hello when we arrived. They were so accommodating to our dogs. The space isn’t secluded but you will meet fantastic neighbors and animals along the way. The animals were so cool and engaging. Amazing well taken care of facilities. and WiFi and cellular data IS available widely throughout the farm. A very unique opportunity for an amazing price. Book here for an unforgettable experience!

They were super nice and informative. Animals were sweet very friendly. I didn’t smell at all super clean everywhere, even the outhouse compost. Thanks for the stay we will be back wish the weather allowed us to stay one more day. 🙏❤️

It was amazing! Hosts are super nice and very welcoming! The area is just perfect and very beautiful. The animals are super cute and make the experience very special! Just be wary it might be hard to eat with them next to you so be prepared to have leftover or extra food to feed them! Totally coming back again and highly recommend!

This had to be the coolest place I've ever stayed. The animals were so friendly and would come hang by our campsite late at night. Make sure you go canoe by the lake. I'm still dreaming about this stay.. can't wait to come back!

What a great place to camp! It was peaceful and spread out on a beautiful farm with lots of animals around. Most sites had fire rings with benches, which made evenings super cozy.

This was our 3rd time here and we have a blast every time. The owners are so friendly and make the experience that much better. The animals are so cute. It really is such a unique experience. We will be back in the future no doubt!

It was a crazy good experience! Scary, exciting, and fun. From the place and stunning views to the funny, very kind and friendly inhabitants and their very kind and cheerful owners. We highly recommend visiting this farm and coming back more than once. The animals are teenagers, and I really hope they remember us next time.
P.S. be prepared to "fight” with “food” for food lol

Paul and Marilyn were the friendliest hosts! If you like farm animals this is the place for you. Unfortunately the animals were a little too friendly for our comfort zone and at one point surrounded our tent. It was a quiet weekend on the farm with not too many campers which may have contributed to the animals being so attracted to us despite not having anything in that area that would attract them (food etc). We loved the goats and the donkey that visited often but there are some significant larger animals like pigs and cows that made us nervous. Paul was incredibly nice when we told him we felt more comfortable leaving and gave us a refund for our second night. The area itself is nice with views of a lake and the map Paul created was especially useful! Watch where you step and wear closed toe shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty as there are lots of animal droppings which I assume just comes with the territory. Despite all this my friend and I had a good laugh and honestly we will be talking about this weekend for years to come. Paul and Marilyn thank you for your hospitality and kindness!

Very special farm that was perfect for our purposes. My buddy and I are new campers and wanted an opportunity to test our equipment in a place that was easy, safe, and fun. We got this and more. Paul and Marilyn are great folks that made the stay even better. Loved the animals, convenient amenities, and met some friendly campers at the next site over. Will definitely be returning in the near future.

Paul and Marilyn were great people. From the start to the end. I surprised my girlfriend and she absolutely loved it. All the animals were so charming and well behaved. The goats were so friendly. My biggest concern was they were going to damage our tent or car, since they love getting on top of the tables LOL but as long as you don’t have food around your tent or car they won’t even come near it. Overall the whole experience was magical and we will 10000% be coming back with our friends.

The experience was incredible and very memorable. My wife had an amazing experience at the open farm. Paul and Marilyn were extremely friendly and hilarious. I loved his suggestions of activities and his engagement with the campgoers including the campfires and herding the animals. Would highly recommend

Wonderful spot to camp, the animals are just precious! The owners are so fun and nice! And let me tell you that I really appreciate the NO CHILDREN policy. It just made everything better 😆 The farm is gorgeous and very clean given all those animals. Lots of flat spaces for tents. Honestly, camping here has no downsides…

My husband and I loved camping on Paul and Marilyns land with our dog! We only spent one night but plan on coming again in the future. What a unique experience to wake up to a donkey and cow in front of your tent!
