MARGOT is a Star Host

Once a much larger property, we purchased our 120-acre (50-hectare) in 1984 as a means to live sustainably and raise a family. Living in our shed whilst we prepared the garden, put in watering infrastructure and built our house which we finally moved in when our daughter was 6 months old in 1990. Over the ensuing years we have continued to increase biodiversity on the property and set it up so we can live sustainably, harvesting our own water, electricity and food. If your lucky you could get a hamper of our product when there is sufficient in season. With the increased biodiversity you will find that in the mornings and evenings kangaroos and wallabies will visit with the occasional echidna, rabbit and hare; and to forget the large array of bird life - that may wake you early in the morning with the songs. This campsite is set on lovely grassy open areas interspersed with gum trees. The sunrise looks spectacular near the dam, when the trees give off a lovely glow. The main paddock has a Geodome, a shared space for relaxing in. With all that space you can park and set up camp anywhere in the paddock. There is access to drinking water, toilets, and a hot shower. Around the dome is a firepit, drinking water and a camp kitchen. The firepit features an Argentinian BBQ and a plate for cooking. The kitchen has plates, cups, cutlery, and other bits and pieces for you to use. If you want exclusive use of the paddocks - refer to Group Bush Retreat.

Group Bush Retreat - Exclusive use
As a group of 6 families with 3 elderly and 8 young children, our stay at Margot’s property was an absolute delight. From the moment we arrived, Margot warmly welcomed us, ensuring our comfort and satisfaction throughout our time there. Her comprehensive tour of the property left no detail unnoticed, ensuring we were well acquainted with everything we needed to know. Margot promptly addressed all our questions and issues, such as questions related to booking and adjusting the shower temperature, and she also went above and beyond by offering an additional van to accommodate my mum’s needs. The location, nestled on a hill, provided breathtaking views that truly elevated our camping experience. The presence of kangaroos and the stunning sight of the Milky Way further added to the charm of the setting. The common area was a favourite among both kids and adults, offering ample space for relaxation and various activities. While our overall experience was wonderful, my mum would have appreciated the availability of hot water and a designated area for personal hygiene. Despite this minor inconvenience, our first Hipcamp experience exceeded our expectations, and I wholeheartedly recommend Margot’s property to anyone in search of a memorable camping getaway filled with warmth and hospitality.
