This was my second visit here, I liked it so much. The drive is well worth the view of the stars/night sky and the views at sunset and sunrise. The campsites are very nice and well spaced if there happen to be other campers at the same time.

This was a great visit! A lot of gravel road to get there, but not too rough on my van. I just went slow, but very few other cars so it was fine.
The scenery is breathtaking and so peaceful. Watched a storm trying to roll in which obscured the sunset, but the sunrise the next day was gorgeous!
The camp itself is so beautifully created and maintained, I was the only one there and it was just lovely!
Highly recommend. Great value. No amenities but still worth the view and the quiet. Some flies and mosquitos, to be expected. Trash can available.

The campsite was absolutely beautiful. The stars were super clear and the Milky Way was even visible despite the thunderstorm that came through. We booked Site 2 but ended up staying at Site 4 after the host recommended it. Not that Site 2 was bad or anything, but Site 4 was great! The host was very communicative. I'd totally recommend if you're in the area. Bring a telescope if you can!

You know when you have the type of experience where you end up booking a hip camp and it ends up being so much better than it looks in the pictures? That’s the experience that I had at San Pablo Ranch. The drive there was absolutely stunning and the property itself was so so beautiful. Everything was maintained beautifully, and it was safe, secure, and private.
The host did a great job with communication and did everything to ensure that we had a great time there. I highly recommend this place!

Highly recommend this Hipcamp! The view was incredible and the site was set up nicely. This was our first experience using Hipcamp and we really enjoyed it. As a bonus they had a small creek running through the property that the kids and dog got to play in.

Leonard was very helpful with directions and letting us arrive late. The site was picturesque and clean. Great stargazing and the daytime view is beautiful. The way there follows dirt roads a long way but even that drive is gorgeous.

We loved it! Leonard was very helpful keeping an eye on the weather on the afternoon we were coming as thunderstorms were possible. He suggested a different campsite than the one we booked for the better access and he was spot on! He checked in to see how we were doing as well. But what really stands out for this place is the absolutely gorgeous scenery all around and the sheer quiet of it all. We enjoyed the birds, the sunrise and the two elk that wandered by early in the morning. And for our dogs, the ability to be off leash was heaven for them. Highly recommend but be prepared for narrow dirt in if you are pulling a travel trailer like we were. It was a tight squeeze with traffic coming the other way in a couple of places but everyone was super nice about finding ways around us.

Second visit was as enjoyable as the first. Saw elk in the meadow at sunrise, heard birdsong down by the stream, and watched several wild rabbits hop around the bushes. Also enjoyed the quiet and private campsite.

We LOVED everything about Leonard’s property. We camped in our 22’ sprinter, site was level and the views were spectacular. The best part for me was the absolute peacefulness of the area. Leonard was extremely helpful and always available for any of our questions. We hope to be back!

I've already mentioned on my last stay what a terrific host Leanord is, so I'll just mention the fantastic upkeep he puts into this place. There is a gravel parking space, clean picnic table, clear markings, mowed area for hanging out, a clean trash can, and just a gorgeous view of the valley and the mountain. The site is also surrounded by Little Blue Stem, a beautiful native grass, so it looks especially gorgeous in the fall when it's seeding out. There are also native sunflowers everywhere making for a gorgeous spring visit.

We had so much fun tent camping on Leonard’s land! The view was absolutely gorgeous and this time of year is perfect to go! Just make sure to pack bug spray for the mosquitos (we forgot!) Beautiful land and views. Thanks Leonard! :)

Beautiful land and very well kept and manicured. Had the mosquitoes not come out and eaten me alive (they love me) I would have totally stayed for a lot longer. Reception was nonexistent but Leonard was gracious enough to allow me to work at his home on my laptop.
Wish I could've stayed and relaxed a lot longer here :(

What a wonderful spot for a quiet retreat from the real world. The night stars were so bright. The host was gracious and helpful. This is truly a dog paradise as well. There are lots of trails to explore with the help of a map from the host.
If you are trying to work remotely, the cell signal is very intermittent and you’ll need to be self contained. Also, bring bug spray. The mosquitoes made their presence known!

This camping spot was perfect for me! Very quiet, private and beautiful. The drive in from Las Vegas was easy and pleasant with good roads, took about 90 minutes. The sites all have great views. Most sites have a bit of an incline so bring leveling blocks. There are lots of birds singing and wildflowers galore. Good hiking opportunities also. The hosts are wonderful - easy to communicate with, and very informative and kind. I will be back!!

You can search long and hard and never find a better place to camp than Len’s land. It’s absolutely beautiful in the foothillls of the Sangre de Christo mountains.
We had visits from deer and turkey around our camp and astronomy lovers will appreciate the bazillion stars overhead. Len is a kind, gracious host who’s put a lot of work to make sure Hipcampers have a nice, clean, and safe spot to camp.

I had a great couple of nights at the San Pablo Ranch. It's a beautiful drive to get there on a well maintained county road, with nice private camp site options, and a spectacular view. Definitely hope to visit again.

Sensationally beautiful hipcamp

San Pablo Ranch is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. If you love scenic mountains, amazing grassland, dark starry skies, perfect camp sites and the kindest, best hosts you would ever hope to meet … book one of these four lovely sites. We stayed at site 4 and woke up every morning to astonishing sunrises and watched the changing light over the enormous mountain peaks at sunset. We saw elk, mountain bluebirds, magpies and huge hawks. All the sites are private and incredibly well taken care of. Once you are there, it’s hard to leave. FYI, we took day trips to Santa Fe, Taos, Abiquiu, Chimayo, Pecos National Park and Mt Union National Park. So … San Pablo Ranch is the perfect location.

This was such a beautiful place to stay and Leonard was a top-notch host, the best Hipcamp host I've ever had! The view of the mountain was beautiful at anytime but especially stunning at sunset. You can see the stars very clearly and I was lucky enough to even see the Devil's Comet from the property. I was in Site #1 which is closest to the house. I recommend that for solo travelers who might feel a little more safe being nearby, but you still have perfect privacy because the bushes and trees surround the camp site and block the view of the house or other sites.
Leonard was really communicative and went above and beyond to ensure I had a good check-in and could find the place. His directions are very detailed and easy to follow, and because I check in after dark he met me to guide me to my spot. He really went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed and wouldn't need to go to any trouble over anything. Overall a very smooth and lovely stay on gorgeous property, so I will definitely try to stay again!

Wonderful hosts! This was my first Hipcamp stay, and it was spectacular. Beautiful views, a herd of elk walking in front of my campsite, and a memorable sunrise to top it off. I will stay here again someday!
