The campsites are in a slightly hilly, brushy area, so there’s some privacy built in.
We picked campsite 11 so we could watch the beautiful sunset, and sunrise. It was so quiet out there!! Beautiful stars at night.
The porta potty was clean and nearby and there were trash cans next to it.
It was only our 2nd time hip camping so I was surprised that there wasnt a table and fire ring, just a space to camp . There were rocks to make a fire ring and we used our camping boxes for a table, so we were fine , but we’ll get a table top for future hipcamping.
The owner’s two dogs joined us in the morning and were super friendly and fun.

Great spot to camp. Friendly host who was helpful with local ancient history which was the point of my trip. His dogs were great too they kept me company for a while. Highly recommend as a professional camper.

We arrived late and Johnathan met us outside and let us park close to his driveway so we wouldn’t get stuck and have easy access to water. He’s got a lovely property and was so accommodating-a great place to stay!

Jonathan was very responsive when we called him prior to arrival. He told us where to park. The location as advertised has an absolutely gorgeous view. We happened to be the only ones there so it was incredibly quiet and peaceful. We would highly recommend Jonathan‘s place!

This camp is in a beautiful spot with views of the snow capped San Juans in the distance. It’s convenient to Aztec Ruins and all Farmington has to offer.
Jonathan is friendly and knowledgeable, his dogs are very sweet!
As Jonathan builds this campground into an multi use facility, I’m sure it will be very popular!

Stayed here a couple nights on our way to Chaco. Quiet spot with nice views! Portapotty was clean. Tent site 8 was the perfect van spot! Jonathan was very nice and his dogs were super friendly (they hung out with us at camp). Close to Alien MTB trails, Mountain View trails accessed from the property. 2 thumbs up, would recommend this spot if in the area!

I stayed here in the middle of December and was the only tent camper on site. It was perfect. Secluded, spacious, and stubbled with just enough pinyon pines to block the wind. Be warned that the terrain is hilly and the desert night cold, but that should be no surprise to anyone. Johnathan was an excellent host and I highly recommend his land!

It is a beautiful spot, and we used it as a base to explore the Aztec area for a couple of days which was very enjoyable. It was easy enough for us to park our camper (17 ft) in the tent area, which was more private and scenic than the larger RV lot which is pretty close to the house. The tent area is beautiful, though, with nice walks for mountain views. My only concern was that it seemed to be an area used by ATVs or off-road motorcycles--there were lots of tracks--but probably due to the time of year (mid-November), we didn't see any. Understandably that may be an attraction for a lot of people, but if you would prefer to avoid the noise that is just a heads-up

Very convenient location just ten minutes outside town and easy to find. A little dusty and spiky for a recreational stay but it’s great for a stop over. Great morning view and the host was nicely accommodating to me arriving very late

There are no signs for RV/Trailer camping. The instructions say to follow the signs for tent camping and call the host upon arrival. If he’s not able to answer, you are left to guess on where to go. Good luck if you take a trailer back to the tent area! Scratches on the trailer at best, getting stuck is more likely.

Johnathan was the perfect host, available to provide help when asked. He supplied us with information about the area that went well beyond what was available online.
mountain view campground is set with a view of the whole region. It felt like we were the only people around. In a crowded world we felt like we had all the space you could imagine. Our party stayed six nights. We could easily have spent six more.
We are already making plans for our return trip.

We had a 20 ft trailer camper and found a great spot. Fun Mtn biking right from our site as well as other great trails within a 10 minute drive. Johnathan was super responsive and helpful. We’ll be back!

Last minute reservation and late arrival, and Johnathan took good care of us. Met us outside in the dark and directed us a) to a good spot where we’d have an awesome view of the annular eclipse in the morning, and b) a swell diner for breakfast in town before the eclipse. Welcomed us to hang out past checkout time in the morning so we could linger with the moon and sun’s special event. Thanks Johnathan!

We were looking for a nice place to camp to watch the eclipse. The land Johnathan owns is perfect and quiet. You have open skies and great views at nights. There is also plenty of public land nearby to hike and explore. We had a great time here and a wonderful experience during the eclipse. I would definitely camp here again!

This is a work in progress, not set up yet for a sizable motor home. I had a class c 30footer. we did park on a simi level spot. Beautiful spot to star gaze. Artifacts galore, petrified wood, shards of very old pottery. I will be back.

This was an excellent campground! We had a group of 16 friends over two sites and we loved the site. The views of the surrounding country were stunning, we could see for over 50 miles. Johnathan was a gracious host, making himself available to us, and we did an arched tour with him (totally worth it). His brown dog, Twix, was the biggest sweetheart and spent most of her time with us. We would absolutely come back here again! Only downsides; there were very few portopotties and the potable water was a decent walk away. Neither were a huge deal though.

Jonathan was such a great host! He was so welcoming, and went out of his way to make our group of 6 adults in two RV's, super comfortable. He even took out his backhoe and cleared us a more private spot with incredible views. Later, he offered to pick a few things up at the store, because "I'm going into town, anyway"! What a great guy, and what a wonderful spot!

Great site! Easy, clear directions and well-marked individual sites. Lots of small trees create some privacy and separation between campers. And a really clean porta-potty too! Terrain is sandy, so two-wheel drive cars may have a little trouble--we were in Jeep Cherokee, no issues. Friendly dog wandered over to say hello too. Would absolutely camp here again.
