This is a very quiet, peaceful place. Best to make plans to arrive before dark. But overall a great place to stop and enjoy nature and the beautiful landscape.

We had a wonderful time camping here. Very quiet and secluded and it was a plastic that we had access to a composting toilet. Would definitely stay here again!

Really quite and peaceful. Double check Google maps, my phone initially only wanted to get me close. Great star gazing and the host isn't all up in your business. The tent is surprisingly big and roomy.

Once we arrived at the camp, we were not able to check our app for instructions due to lack of service (At no fault of the host!).
We were also a little confused because the invite said we would be greeted by a host, and weren’t sure if we could pull in or not. Or if we’d be directed to a certain site. And were ultimately not greeted.
The shared pin dropped between two driveways (one of which we were requested not to enter on the details, but could not access in the moment). When we knocked they were kind and assured us we were in the right place.
Though, once we were at the camp we were still quite confused as we were told we had a tent and did not book a tent, and the site said there would be a compost toilet and potable water, but we could not find either!
In our confusion we doubted we were in the right spot and unfortunately didn’t end up staying the night and went to book a motel.
Despite our chaotic arrival, the space looked quite cute! Though lots of anthills and uneven grasses for a tent. Looked nice and flat for camping in a van or car (like we did)! So I’m sure if we came again we’d land a bit better 😅 Looks like we missed out on a potentially peaceful and beautiful spot.

I loved staying here! What the other reviews say about this being a beautiful soundscape is true. The bird song was superb. I had peace and quiet for what was a personally difficult week. It felt wonderfully sheltered in the canyon and with trees dividing up the space. I am very appreciative to have this as an option for camping instead of going to an airbnb or hotel! Thank you!

The good: Quiet and serene canyon location very near Santa Fe. Easy to get to and the hosts checked in on me after I told them I'd arrived because we had a storm and they wanted to make sure I was okay. They did not meet with me for see when I had arrived.
The bad: I don't know if it's because it's just the beginning of the season but the place is very unkempt. The ground is completely even and there are literally hundreds if not thousands of red and black ant hills everywhere. There is no clear indication of where to park an RV or put up a tent and I would want to put up a tent on that ground full of ants. The ground clearly hasn't been graded or leveled or even mowed in at least a couple of years it would appear. There is an old falling apart treehouse with a moldy chair in it, a tent that appears to be for glamping, and an unfinished little cabin which I think is intended for rentals. I pretty much stayed inside and sprayed everything I could around the steps of my trailer to keep all the ants away. I don't know what they can do about this but I can tell you I will never stay there again because I was bitten a couple of times by the red ants and it's not pleasant! Also, there are numerous dead trees on the property which obviously are dangerous as they could fall, and although there are frisbee golf stands all over, you would be nuts and break an ankle or worse on this uneven ground which you can't even see because it's so overgrown.

My daughter and I loved our stay. She enjoyed the treehouse very much. The tent was spacious. I would recommend and hope to visit again when we go back to Santa Fe.

When we arrived we checked in with Jesse who greeted us with a smile and directed us where to go. The field is very flat so if you have a travel trailer like us leveling is super easy. It was pretty quiet where we were. Thanks Jesse! Highly recommend

This is a great place for car camping or car sleeping as I did. Much to my surprise the birdwatching was incredible. I identified at least 25 species. But it wasn’t all about the birds. The host is super gracious. I enjoyed our conversations and meeting her son.. The land is spacious and diverse. Unfortunately, the river was dry, but that made it walkable. This is a place where I am already considering a future visit. I felt safe and even a bit secluded, although there are houses on the ridges. It is pretty quiet, especially at night. There isn’t much of a cell signal. I did not use the home Internet.

We had a spur-of-the-moment trip to Santa Fe and Jesse was able to accommodate us. His site was easy to navigate and private. He was very helpful when we had some unexpected issues. Thanks Jesse! It was great being close to Santa Fe and coming home to dark skies and peace and quiet.

Little Canyon
We visited in early March, and landed there in a snowstorm pulling a 17 ft travel trailer. We ended up moving closer to
Santa Fe for the sake of easier visiting with family, but Little Canyon camp is quite nice. On the primitive side because access is via a dirt road and driving into a meadow for sites. We had no difficulty accessing the site with our rig. It feels private, quiet, and fairly isolated, which fits our preference. I recommend this site during more weather friendly times of year

We loved our stay at Little Canyon! The property was the perfect spot for our trip to NM for some winter camping. Having this location made visiting several sites accessible, and we left knowing there was so much more to explore. Jesse is a wonderful host and made sure to check her messages regularly which helped our first night when arriving late from CO. We we also amazed by her ingenuity and dedication to creating green spaces- she built her own cabin, sauna, and green house using recycled and green materials! I whole-heartedly recommend this site.

We had a great stay at Little Canyon, beautiful views, lovely family. There is plenty of flat land to pitch a tent or park a rig, the outhouse with compost toilet was clean and comfortable and the area is fantastic, conveniently close to Santa Fe but very private. There is hiking right from the property and we had the pleasure of being taken on a walking tour by the kids. We will definitely be back.

We had a great stay at Little Canyon! Close enough to Santa Fe but also far enough away to have amazing stargazing and a really peaceful night. This was our first time driving a campervan and we were a little nervous about the rough road to get to the site, but we managed alright. The site itself was level and easy to park in and the area felt secluded and serene. We can't wait to come back and spend more time at Little Canyon!

As soon as we drove up in our camper van, we were met by Jesse, Marisa and family, who made us feel right at home. They gave us some good info of the area, as there are great trails not far from their land. They directed us to our campsite and we had the place to ourselves. We loved the quiet and the night sky., where you could almost reach out and touch the stars. We would recommend Little Canyon to anyone looking to enjoy Santa Fe, but wanting to "get away from it all." If in the area, we will certainly be back...!

Great little property about 20-30 min from anything in Santa Fe. Quiet neighborhood and plenty of space for our truck camper and small trailer to fit and maneuver around. Hosts are very friendly!

This was our first experience with Hipcamp and it was wonderful. We were looking for a space in Santa Fe National Forest Campgrounds but it was inpossible to find anything on this Balloon Fiesta weekend. How serendipitous, because we ended up in Little Canyon which was a great experience. The moment we entered the property we were greeted and we felt at home.
Jesse and his family were very inviting and excellent hosts all around. Quiet, private, intimate, very safe, surrounded by nature, and such beautiful views of mountains. A high desert oasis to relax in, yet so close to Santa Fe. In the evening, Jesse and his son offered a fire ring and dry wood for a small campfire which we enjoyed under a beautiful starry sky. We saw two hot air balloons in the morning and so many birds on the property, including a red tail hawk. A few steps behind the campsite, by the corral, we saw fresh coyote tracks on the mud of little Galisteo Creek. This site exceeded our expectations. It is wild and beautiful, perfect for boondocking. We wish we could have spent another night! We were gifted a dozen fresh eggs. Thank you! What an unforgettable experience. Since we have a new little camping trailer, we feel Hipcamp is a great way to relax away from the crowds. Highly recommend Little Canyon.
