Nestled in a pinon forest in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Alma Tierra is truly a place you can feel the soul of the land. As an ancient summer camp for Native people, you can feel the timelessness on top of the world at 7700 feet. You can walk out the door and into National Forest, or drive 15 minutes to The Rio Grande National Monument where outdoor activities abound. Closer in the neighborhood is a Tibetan Buddhist Stupa and a community that gathers for weekly Green Tara practice. At the North end of Taos County, you have all the best Taos has to offer as well a hidden gem off the beaten path.

Pitch your tent along the pinon trees with epic views of the Sangre de Cristos Range and the legendary Ute Mountain. You will have some privacy from the main casita, but are close and nestled into the pinon. You can pull your car up to your camp. It's a sweet hummingbird sized camp, but you are free to enjoy the rest of the property and the neighborhood. There is a large campfire pit for everyone to share. Exploring the vast National Forests and National Monuments including the Wild Rivers area is out the back door. Explore the confluence of the Red River and the Rio Grande. Day trips for cultural, historic, artistic, spiritual and futuristic experiences are also what Taos is about. Settle in slowly, there is much to experience,

Camp Colibri: Hummingbird Joy!

Great spot, tucked into the trees for privacy and very easy to find. We came up for an event nearby and Jessica was so responsive and flexible and had some great suggestions for the area. Highly recommended !

We loved sharing a cozy mattressed bed in a tiny trailer - my 6'4 husband was in & out all night looking at the stars & the milky way. Rio Grande Gorge is across the fields to the west. And the Tibetan Buddhist stupa is to the south. Very special land, & beautiful spirit of Jessica tending to it.

This was a great camping experience! The land was gorgeous in the pinion pines, and we saw shooting stars at night. Jessica was an amazing host!

The host is absolutely wonderful and her land is embracing. Her two adorable doggies are very loving and kind. You will hear some traffic and neighbors at time but nothing discouraging. Plenty of privacy and I really enjoyed my time there!

Luna Madre: Camp Among The Pinon

Wow! The views here are simply gorgeous. We enjoyed the dark sky at night for star gazing, and the peaceful morning away from any crowds. Jessica is a wonderful host, leaving us maps and giving tips on the area. Easy to find, with a good, short access road from the highway. Thanks for having us as your very first guests!

I enjoyed tent camping here on the land at Alma Tierra. As a solo female traveler I felt safe & had plenty of privacy. Directions were easy to get here. The host, Jessica, was gracious and quick to communicate with. My little dog got on very well with her two big dogs. Camping here among the pines was a slice of heaven.
