Havens Ranch is a 154 acres in the Humboldt river valley just 10 minutes outside of Winnemucca, NV. We have a small outdoor wedding venue, and only rent our spaces when we are not hosting an event. You are welcome to utilize the grounds and facilities, which include a beautifully landscaped lawn, historic buildings and modern plumed bathrooms. We also provide access to fresh well water and use of our large fire pits! **Please note that our bathrooms are not insulated and so we winterize the plumbing the in the colder months and will instead be providing a porta-john. There will still be potable running water available at the spigot. ** The river is a short walk away, and our longhorn cattle will most likely be grazing in the adjacent field. We have incredible sunsets and a variety of wildlife living on the property. This is a great space to get away from the city for a weekend, or camp for a night on your way through town. We have both a guest suite and several camping spaces available. It's a large property and we love to share it! If you are looking for outdoor activities, we are just minutes away from the Winnemucca Dunes OHV area (also great for hiking!), Water Canyon rec site, the Bloody Shins mountain biking trail system, and about an hour away from the Paradise Valley rock climbing area. We are 10 minutes from Winnemucca, about half way between Reno and Elko.

Our ranch has ample flat space for RVs or tents, all with mountain views and privacy from the road and main house. You have access to the landscaped grounds of our wedding venue, as well as the indoor bathrooms and fire pits (please bring your own firewood). We do not have septic or water hook ups, but you are welcome to fill up with icy cold well water from the spigot. We allow pets off leash, just be aware this is a big property with livestock on it, so please keep an eye on. Generators are welcome. While we are not ADA approved, the grounds are flat enough that most folks in a wheelchair feel comfortable getting around. We also have a sweet little ranch pup named Potata who is off leash and roams the grounds, she is about as friendly as they come and loves kiddos, so please say hi to her! She will try to persuade you to share your snacks but please refrain, she'd not allowed people food. The river is an easy 7 minute walk away (though not wheelchair accessible) and depending on the season you can see pelicans, great blue herons, egrets, and a multitude of ducks in the area. We also have deer, pronghorn antelope, coyotes the occasional badger, and if you're lucky maybe even a bobcat! We love preserving as much habitat for wildlife as possible, and are rewarded by their presence on the ranch. We also raise Texas Longhorn cattle, and they add that classic western vibe to the wide open desert landscape. We are a short drive from Winnemucca and are always happy to give recommendations on where to eat, drink and play! Stay a night or stay a week, we will be happy to have you.

Our guest suite is part of a small outdoor wedding venue, so you have full access to the landscaped grounds. Enjoy a picnic on the shaded lawn, or maybe wander down to the river for sunset. Our longhorn cattle are likely nearby and can be bribed with treats to be photogenic if you'd like to meet them. We love sharing our space, please enjoying exploring! The guest suite has an indoor sink for your convenience, but the bathrooms are in the historic railroad tie building about 100 feet away (don't worry, the plumbing is modern!). We provide fresh well water, a coffee maker and cups, and can lend you any dishes or glassware upon request. We do not provide a stove, but you are welcome to use your own if traveling with a camp stove. The guest suite will comfortably sleep two on our queen bed. Our guest suite is at the very end of our driveway, out of sight of the main house and with ample parking available right outside the door. The suite is at the edge of our wedding venue, and we only rent it out when we are not hosting an event, so you will have full reign of the grounds as well as peace and quiet. Please feel free to utilize the little oasis of our venue, stretch out on the grass and stargaze, or sip a coffee under the shade tress and enjoy the view. The venue is built on a 1940's homestead and we still use the historic railroad tie buildings, which are also a great setting for photos and we often have local photographers bring their clients out to utilize the unique property. While not necessarily traditional camping, I enjoyed pitching my tent next to the long horn cattle. They proved to be good camping companions. The sunset from this location was spectacular. I found it to be a safe stop over for a solo female traveler.

We loved having an option other than a basic RV park. The views of the mountains were gorgeous, and it was great fun to see the longhorn cattle on the property. The available bathrooms were clean and uniquely decorated.

We are road tripping, so this was just an overnight stay. These were our observations. Pros: —The surrounding landscape is stunning. —Warren was very quick to respond to texted questions. —Bathrooms were functional and reasonably clean. —The property is quiet and dark at night. —Dogs can be off leash. Cons: —The property itself seems neglected and not kept up. It’s messy, beyond what would be normal dirt and extra equipment for a working ranch. The photos in the listing do not reflect current appearance. —The camping area has a dried, stickery weed that left burrs on our shoes, pants, and our dog. —There is a half-full manmade pond in the grassy area that is full of algae and mung. Our dog went up to it and slid into it, then couldn’t get out by herself, I had to pull her out. We had to wash her right away because algae can be toxic to dogs. It was our fault because we let her get too far ahead of us off leash. This is just a “be aware” that this hazard is present if you have dogs or kids with you. Conclusion: It was okay for one night, but we feel like this property is overpriced for what is offered and falls short of the listing description, which was disappointing. We have camped “rough” and dry with Harvest Host properties, but at those you at least get return for what you spend.

We arrived after dark with our trailer and got a bit lost- Warren rescued us!! So grateful he answered his phone. Wonderful to wake up to a herd of cattle who escaped from a neighboring ranch. Our 9# chihuahua mix thought she was a ranch dog; she was off leash exploring and was in heaven with all the smells. A fun first stop on our 3 week road trip.

We enjoyed our one-night stay at Mountain View Hipcamp. We were the only ones staying for the night which made for a nice quiet evening. This is a wedding venue also so there are clean restrooms, a water spigot, fire pit with wood. Nice stop away from loud traffic noise. Really enjoyed it.

The ranch is a great stop along 80, and our dog thoroughly enjoyed the freedom to roam the property. Our only issue was we were informed when we arrived that the ranch was preparing for a concert weekend, which involved heavy equipment moving around our rig making it super noisy and dusty. Wish we had known before we would have made other arrangements.

We booked this site in the evening upon arriving. We had originally booked the hipcamp just north of here and did not feel safe upon arriving at that site. The ranch accepted our late booking and they were responsive to our question upon arriving. Great indoor bathrooms and nice grass to tent on.

There are many cute bunnies that you can see eating grass while you are there. Definitely a working ranch with many projects. There was a lot of older heavy equipment around if you like that sort of thing. Sprinklers come on for the grass in the morning. Just camp where they suggest and you will be fine. Host is very responsive. Bathroom worked great!

Don't camp next to the lush green grass of the wedding reception area. Sprinklers come on at midnight and again at like 5am. Not a good night sleep if you do!

We were driving through and couldn’t find a place to stay so last minute booked here! We got here when it was dark but the direction were super easy to follow and we were able to get down and set up! We also left really early but when we woke up and saw the space it’s large, enough for a decent amount of people to camp with space. The bathrooms are great. Also when we work up the longhorns were staring at us from a distance behind the fence, and I loved that! Would recommend!

We enjoyed our stay at this location. They were having an event at the time of our arrival but we had plenty of space to pull in with our 36 ft. Class A. We were a but nervous about entering the gates and the downhill descent into the space but had no trouble going in or going out. If you like peace, quiet, and beautiful scenery this working ranch sill serve you well.

The area and restrooms were very nice. There were no specific places for camping. I was told to set up "anywhere". As there was one other set of campers there was plenty of room, but if there were more campers , especially RVs, the area I was gestured to would feel cramped. The host left a can and some work items on the lawn when what appeared to be his girlfriend showed up. They sat and flirted at the tables in front of the lawn until dark and then left the can by the work items as well as other cans by the tables.

The camping area is just a dirt lot…no grass or shade. There is a grassy area to use close by but it’s not a camping area. It was also 96 degrees at 3::30 when we arrived..way too hot for us in a non air conditioned camper…we checked into a hotel in town.

We loved the laid back setting in the beautiful Sierra Nevada forest! The Camp Ground is very quiet and serene and is relaxing from the very start! The staff could not be more accommodating especially Xavier who was very helpful and engaging. We were lucky enough to camp next to Alejandra another very friendly staff member who helped us navigate the facility and local attractions. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The entry to this property, with its chaotic assemblage of old and new equipment, camouflages the peaceful vista that awaits when you drop over the hill toward the camping area. A beautiful grass lawn under tasteful canopies and bistro lights, a pleasantly rustic but comfortable bathroom setup, a convenient supply of potable well water, and serene fields and longhorns across the way. We were not traveling with kids, but were we, they would have had a wonderful time in the natural play area. We were forewarned by Warren that sprinklers came on at 3:30 am, and when they did it woke me up... and because the grass is so lush, mosquitos were quite present in the evening... but these minor things are easily addressed with earplugs and mosquito repellant. 😁

We stayed here on the way to Oregon with our four dogs! We had the entire area to ourselves besides a camper that was up the hill a little. Huge open space and so much room for our dogs to run around! Beautiful views! We enjoyed watching the longhorns and listening to the cows! There’s very little light pollution so we could see all the stars at night. We would 100% stay here again!

Overall I was disappointed and I would not come back. There was no available water, no working toilets or porta potty. I reach out about the water and no response…. No shade, I had to park on field of dust and mud . My two pups loved it

Finding Haven’s Ranch was a breeze and so was navigating the property. We mainly only came onto the property to rest during our work travels but enjoyed it while we could. Our 3-year old was very excited to be able to watch some of the work happening with the heavy machinery when we were there on a Friday afternoon. Our dogs appreciated being able to run around off leash after extended time in the car.

We stayed here as our last stop of a 2 week camping trip. This is a good stopping point after leaving SLC. We were early in the season ( temps below freezing overnight)so the water and bathrooms were not yet functional. The sites were as described, it was quiet and the Long Horn cows were great company!

We stayed here last year on our northern NV eastern OR trip and stayed again this year on our Utah southern NV trip. We like this place. The sky views were just as good as last year.
