PLEASE read all of the details before booking so you book the site that works best for you and also so you understand where you are staying. You will receive messages from us after booking and before your arrival, so please check your Hipcamp inbox. The RV spaces are behind the Baker Fuel and RV gas station. All sites are back-in only and have full hook-ups: 30amp and 50 amp electricity, sewer and water. There is a public bathroom, shower and laundry facility next to the sites. RV Site 5 is closest to the bathroom and RV Site 1 is furthest away. This camping part of the property offers five primitive campsites, situated in a natural, secluded area that was once a pond. Conveniently just south of the only gas station in town and behind the Great Basin Basecamp Airbnb, the sites are close to the highway but sit lower in elevation, providing privacy and shielding them from the road. Guests have access to a small building with clean restrooms, showers and one set of coin-operated laundry facilities for added convenience. Campsite #6 is closest to the restrooms, #10 is the furthest. No campfires as our fire danger is very high most of the year. There are water spigots at Site #6, between #7 and #8 and Site #10. The Lehman Caves Visitor Center at Great Basin National Park is about 5 miles up the road on Highway 488.

These are primitive campsites. Site 8 is in the middle, third from the restroom building. There is a tent space and space for a vehicle, small RVs, travel trailers, etc. There’s about 25 feet of room for the vehicle and RV. Guests have access to the building with restrooms and showers and there is water available by the site and behind the building at the gas station. If you’re tent camping, you may want to bring sturdy stakes to drive into the compacted gravel, depending on where you choose to place the tent. There is a picnic table at the site. No campfires, or open flame of any kind, are permitted.

These are primitive campsites. Site 10 is furthest from from the restroom building and last on the end on the right. There is space for a vehicle and a tent. Guests have access to the building with restrooms and showers and there is water available at the site and behind the building at the gas station. The driveway in this site cannot accommodate a large RV but a camper van and smaller RV can back in and stay on the road above and you would be fine. No one needs to get by and the road ends at this site. If you’re tent camping, you may want to bring sturdy stakes to drive into the compacted gravel, depending on where you choose to place the tent. There is a picnic table at the site. No campfires, or open flames of any kind, are permitted.

These are primitive campsites. Site 6 is the closest to the restroom building. There is a tent space and space for a vehicle, small RVs, travel trailers, etc. There’s about 25 feet of room for the vehicle and RV. We’ve been told by guests that it was difficult to fit larger trailers along with their truck, so be aware. Guests have access to the building with restrooms and showers and there is water available next to the site and behind the building at the gas station. There is a picnic table at the site. No campfires, or open flames of any kind, are permitted. If you’re tent camping, you may want to bring sturdy stakes to drive into the compacted gravel, depending on where you choose to place the tent.

We have a pop-up camper and stayed in the tent site area. It was as a bit hard to find because it is in a depression. The bathrooms were soooo clean and stocked with hand soap and paper towels. The highlight were the clean bright red Adirondack chairs and picnic table on the ridge to watch the sunset or look out over the valley. This was a surprising pretty campsite.

Hip Camp is the Best Spot in Baker to camp! Yes it is behind gas station!, but it’s clean , quiet and has best views of Great Basin. Gas station is really slow? There is no one out there? Very nice. Great bathrooms little motel. Great place. Great place to get gas once you unhook! Only place to get gas? Stay here, stay here, stay here!!!! You will be very happy. Cool old homestead behind camp. Nice chairs to enjoy the Great Basin! Do not stay at Whispering Elms RV Park!!!!! Whispering Elms is very scary!!!! Women camping alone stay away from whispering elms!!!! This place is creepy. RV’s with boards on the windows! Old rusty kids toys at these creepy run down rv’s, weeds everywhere, low trees, Scary beware of dog sings everywhere. The property managers are very rude, yelled at us as we were leaving. Threatening us as we drove out!!!!!! My Wife was afraid after that. These people and place are terrible!

I was pleasantly surprised by this property. It has everything you need—very clean area, a level, ample site with working utilities, laundry, easy access to fuel, and even a taco truck across the street (but not Navajo Tacos, just standard Mexican fare). It ain’t glamorous by any means, but Baker, NV is a pretty sparse area, so it fits into the environment. I never plan to be in this area again, but if I were I’d stay here.

Big, level campsite with full hookups, a picnic table, and access to bathrooms, showers and a small laundry. So close to Great Basin NP, walking distance to a taco truck, cafe and burger restaurant. Would absolutely stay again.

This was a convenient place to stay for a few days on my way through the area. The dark skies are cool and try to get here on a full moon so you can hike with Liz at the store down the street. Burrito across the street, was less than great

We were pleased to find well kept and very clean camp sites and facilities. Host Janille communicated very well and provided excellent directions to the camp sites. Location was minutes to the NP Visitors center. Lovely and peaceful area. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Great Basin NP.

This little RV park is an absolute gem. Its clean, perfectly level, and well located. If you have a rig that's too large for the National Forest Campground, and/or you like having full hookuos, this is where you want to go. The owner was available at all hours, and very responsive.

Restrooms and showers were clean. Follow the directions they send you to get to the tent area. Tent sites were spacious with level parking and plenty of room for my rooftop tent. Other tent guests were quiet.

Excellent level sites with full hook-ups that worked perfectly. Views all around! Laundry room clean (1 washer/dryer but no one else used it while we were there that I know of). Less than a mile from Great Basin Visitor Center and park road. Loved the coffee/muffins at the Bristlecone Gen Store/coffee shop! Perfect spot for visiting GB!

Great place outside of Great Basin National Park, just a few minutes down the road from the visitor’s center. Electric, water, wonderfully hot showers and laundry - with gas on-site and tacos across the street. Thank you so Much for a great stay in Baker, NV!

The site was just the right size, level with plenty of room for our towed vehicle. The views of the mountain and basin were awesome! The Bristlecone General store across the road had delicious coffee and muffins. The Great Basin National Park was only 0.5 miles down the highway. As full time RVers (going on 10 years) it's always great to find a diamond in the rough like Great Basin Desert Camping & RV!

Being as GBNP is far and away it was naturally quiet. The tent sites were in a lower area which acted as a barrier from the stronger winds. Super convenient to have showers and bathrooms. And they were clean too.

We stayed at this little 5 spot RV campground for a quick visit to Great Basin NP. This is a very simple property, but also very clean. No dirt just gravel but with full hookups and 50amp. We never used the full hookups on this short trip. Bathrooms were super clean and everything was quiet. We felt safe. Food is actually pretty good in town. Worth a stop
