Overall the campsite was great, and exactly as described. Had plenty of space for a large group, a fire ring, complimentary firewood, and was private. Interesting area being surrounded by farm land, and could hear cows and rooster in the morning, which was fun!
Had a couple small issues, that would have been nice to not deal with. The van crusher at the site had a hornets nest in it, and someone in my group got stung. We told the host and it was handled, and had no issues after that. The port of potty at the site was VERY full and a pretty rough experience when needing to be used. Definitely should have been emptied awhile ago, but we made due.
Overall a good experience, great price, and exactly as advertised!

Quiet & quaint just what you need

This was a great place to stay! To be honest I wish all camping was this private & quiet. It was nice to pull in, get set up & unwind after a long day of driving. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Eric!

This is indeed a camping spot to be proud of!
Obviously much thought went into to creating this amazing spot. A nicely decorated and maintained huge space, evergreens planted for even more privacy, generous DRY wood supply, super clean outhouse with light, table with bench and electricity.
The hayfields were mowed and our dog sure enjoyed running over it. There is even a path through the woods.
One of our favorite hipcamps, we would love to return.

Camping and Cranes!

We had a great time! Super nice, large mowed area nestled in a gorgeous area of woods and fields. We watched sandhill cranes take off multiple times (my favorite creatures!). The amenities were awesome: dry wood, electric, and an outhouse. My dogs had a blast. Eric was a wonderful host! Thank you!

I loved camping at the lost 40, the land is well maintained and private, the vibes were really good, and the views were wonderful. There is a nice beach nearby, over all an awesome experience. Eric was responsive and super helpful, would definitely camping here again!

This was a great place to stay for a quiet, peaceful camping experience. We loved the use of the fire pit, the wood Eric allowed us to use and the bbq grate we used. This place was clean and well manicured. We have been camping for a month and this was our most private spot!

Very peace

Great experience all around! This was our first Hip Camp adventure and it has us looking for more opportunities. Larry gave us a warm welcome so it was inviting from the start. It’s a beautiful property and the campsite was delightful. We were visited by deer, a big old raccoon, a wide variety of birds and a half dozen cows from a neighboring farm. If you are an early riser, you hear a rooster crow from across a huge field. Our 4 little city dogs had a blast. We are grateful to this Hip Camp host for sharing a very special place. An AMAZING space! It’s cozy, quaint, quiet. It’s got everything you need. I really loved that the area is “enclosed” with trees where my dog could run around inside the area. We absolutely loved it.

It is completely private. While there is a minor amount of road traffic, you can’t see them and they can’t see you. There is plenty of land for your dog to run and there is plenty of grass yard to play as well. Eric is very communicated and a nice guy. I loved it here. Also Little Falls is not too far and many parks along the Mississippi.

Wow!!! What a gem! I came in crabby from the heat and within 5 minutes I was so relaxed! Wonderful and peaceful area. Eric went above and beyond for us. We got stuck leaving due to the inch of rain we got the night before. He got us help and sent us on our way.
The area was so beautiful with bird houses and some flowers.
The night was so incredibly silent. So peaceful!
I fully recommend this place!!!!! Thanks again Eric!

Beautiful Land and Excellent Host

The land is so beautiful and peaceful! The outhouse was pristine, and there were other very useful things like extra extension cords, firewood and a picnic table. Our dogs enjoyed running around and sniffing all the trees in the large mowed areas. We got ourselves in a pickle by driving into the soft grass and getting despite Eric's suggestion to stay on the gravel driveway. He was so kind and helpful, responded right away and came to help out. Lovely view and amazing host, this is a wonderful place to stay!

I am speechless with how much we loved this site! We were so surprised with the amount of space and mowed grass there was, all was very well maintained. Would be a great spot for large gatherings! Outhouse was as clean as a whistle! Very easy to set up with electric and all. Eric was so sweet and made sure we had everything we needed! YOU HAVE TO STAY HERE, we definitely will be booking this site again😁
