This is our 2nd time camping at their property. This time we decided to camp at a different site and it was perfect! Love the privacy and like always, Patty and Dan were the perfect host! They even started our fire for us since we got there pretty late. We invited them to hang out with us Saturday night while we had the bonfire going. We will definitely be going back again in the spring and fall next year! Totally recommend their campsites!

Such a beautiful property! Trails to meander and water access available. Patty welcomed us with home baked goods and checked in nightly, assuring we had everything we needed. Not a single complaint to be had about the property, host, or experience!

This place was a top 3 camping experience, anywhere. Let me break it down: Spacious campsite in deep woods, a maze of a trail system for hikes, they set us up with a large container of drinking water, outhouse was premium, they even dropped off fresh vegetables and eggs for us to eat. Unreal host commitment. 9.5 / 10 will go back and camp there. Great base for adventures on the Iron Range.

We absolutely loved our time at Luna Light Trails. Patty and Dan were such wonderful hosts, we couldn't have asked for better service or nicer people. Their little gift basket gave such a warming welcome feeling. We brought our own kayaks to go down the beautiful creek behind their property. Although the creek is easily accessible from their trails, it is a bit of a hike to portage the kayaks from the camp sites. Dan and Patty already had this all thought out and offer options for transporting them to and from the creek with their ATV. They even have canoes to rent at a very reasonable price. The weather was alittle on the rainy side during our trip. However, the abundance of sturdy trees made it very easy to make a simple canopy, keeping us from having to take shelter in our tent. We will definitely be recommending the Luna Light Trails to everyone we talk to, and highly recommend it for anyone researching through reviews.

I stayed at Luna Lights Trails (site A-1) for 3 days and 2 nights. The hosts provided free 5-gallon water and firewood. There’s also a really innovative sawdust outhouse with a shower hook for anyone bringing their own setup. The trail to the creek was full of fun surprises; it was so peaceful. The chickens were adorable, too! I wish we had more time to explore, but I’m excited to see the camp grow. Will definitely come back! (I also got to take some moss home with the camp’s approval. Patty was a welcoming host and showed me my tent site right when I arrived. A tour of the property revealed many walking trails, raspberries, firewood, and wooded privacy. Listen and you can hear the chickens and eggs are sometimes available. Patty provided a gift bag that had information on things to do in the area and iron range. A jar of strawberry 🍓 jam was also included! I recommend this camp to anyone who wants a true outdoor experience. You might even get a visit from Hickory the dog.

Luna Lights was a peaceful get away. We enjoyed the paths and kayaking on the creek. The hosts were excellent and have a beautiful property. We highly recommend this place:)

This is a beautiful property! The site was spacious and included a a pop-up restroom, table/chairs, firewood, and a jug of water. The network of on-site trails very well-kept and are a nice amenity. Patty and Dan were friendly and accommodating.

We love camping at Luna Light Trails! We thought we were going to hike outside of the camp area but they had miles of trails to hike and it was so worth it! Love the free fresh farm eggs and gift bag that came with a loaf of bread and jam! The hosts were awesome and friendly. The camp site was secluded enough to have privacy and the hosts checked up on us during our windy night there which was really sweet of them! Perfect for family with little kids! Will definitely go back again! It’s the perfect weekend get away!

Our trip up to northern Minnesota was last minute with the intention of seeing the northern lights. What we left with was a reason to come back again! Our stay at Luna Light Trails was more than we expected. The hosts are such kind and welcoming people. We read this in other reviews and got to experience their hospitality ourselves. From the moment we checked in, to the moment we departed their campgrounds, we felt welcomed and most importantly safe. The camp sites themselves are very well maintained and clean. We got lucky to go up during peak foliage season. The trees and leaves were absolutely breathtaking. The bathrooms were very clean and private, which is not a common luxury when camping. They provided potable water, a small table (which was a lifesaver), and firewood. They also provided the option of a shower which was very thoughtful. If you are looking for a place to getaway from it all or seeking some adventure, book with Patty. They’ve made trails on their property perfect for a nice hike through the forest on their grounds. The trails are well maintained and take you to a peaceful creek. Highly recommend booking with them! If you’re lucky you’ll even catch the northern lights like we did!

One of the kindest and accomodating hosts I've ever met. Patty and Dan were attentive to our needs and made sure they were met. The land itself is very beautiful with nice trails! Many beautiful areas around as well making this a great place to set up for other adventures as well. Would love to go back.

My friends and I were looking for a nice weekend getaway and this was the perfect place! Patty was very helpful and accommodating and we had the best time! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a chill campsite. We had a good view of the sky and were able to hear some wildlife too!

I loved tent camping on Patty’s land! The trails and campsite were well maintained and the tall trees were stunning to walk under. When I arrived, the campsite had a clean and stocked compost toilet tent for my site, plenty of firewood, and potable water by the table and chairs. There was another campsite with campers nearby, but there was privacy, and the noise levels were respectful the entire stay. Patty greeted me with a very thoughtful welcome bag of literature and treats from local businesses. Prior to my arrival she also sent recommendation for a UPick flower farm that had gorgeous flowers under 20 minutes away. Her family was very kind, helpful and welcoming. Their ducks, chickens, and Guinea fowl greeted me from a distance while I set up my tent and Patty showed me around the coops and let me feed the hens. I even got to hold one of the baby Guineafowl which was a treat! 🐦 The campsite had wild raspberry bushes growing and I enjoyed picking some as I walked the trails. I felt safe as a solo female camper, and she was responsive to the Hipcamp chat during my stay. The rate was very reasonable for all of the included amenities. I plan to return and stay longer next time. I would highly recommend to anyone else looking for privacy, safety and quick access to wildlife and trails without leaving the site!

I had such a great time staying at Patty's camp! She and her husband were very hospitable! She brought a lovely welcome bag with some treats and information about the area. The camp was very nice, there was water and firewood and a table with a few chairs. Their trail system is so gorgeous! It's very peaceful and quiet. I didn't make it all the way back to the creek but I plan on coming back for that! There are so many trails! They also have an incredible night sky there. There is very little light pollution and you can see so many stars and the Milky Way Galaxy too. They had a very clean and odor free composting toilet system and they would even set you up with a shower bag if needed. I can't wait to go back!

Loved our stay at Luna Light Trails. Patty’s land has private trails to explore and is nestled perfectly on the north shore, close enough to everything we wanted to see and do! The facilities there were well-maintained, and she had so many helpful amenities - chairs, a table, lots of firewood, etc. We enjoyed a secluded, peaceful getaway. Thanks for the great stay!

This is our first campsite. Extremely friendly and makes us feeling safe. Love the nature, trails, and best spot to set for tent. Only thing I’m embarrassed to ask something I forget and she is very sweet to provide whenever needs. One con is mosquito- if you can handle it then you’re good. :) Definitely I will come back again! ((Highly recommend stay there. :)))

We had a great time staying at Patti's! We had a warm greeting on arrival and were gifted a small basket with some goodies. The trails were well maintained and great for some short walks in the woods. Outhouse was very cleanly as well. Found it was a nice, private way to camp as opposed to crowded campgrounds.

My pup and I loved our stay! As a solo female camper, it can be a little daunting staying certain places but we felt so cozy and safe while also feeling tucked away from others. We had everything we needed plus more. Patty greeted us when we arrived and showed us to our spot nestled away in the trees. She even left us a little goodie basket of treats for us both which was just above and beyond. We planned on adventuring elsewhere most of the time and just sleeping at the site but there were so many cool trails to explore within the campground that we ended up just staying put the first day. Would absolutely recommend!

My family and I loved camping on Patty's land! We had plenty of space for a 8 person tent, table, lots of camp chairs and much more. Also lots of space for our Tahoe to park. Patty and her husband were such wonderful hosts. They communicated very well and were very attentive to our needs during our stay (provided multiple shower bladders, firewood and potable water). Also the outhouse was well kept and very spacious. The land provided many walking and hiking trails around our campsite. It was very beautiful with the leaves changing and the full moon that we experienced. The small touches (hand sanitizer, toliet paper, farm fresh eggs, zucchini bread and faries--which our toddler LOVED) made this a truly enjoyable experience. We will definitely be back. 5 stars!!
