I loved tent camping here! The site was well described. We had no issues finding it and it had everything we could ask for! The white noise of the lake was very soothing. Can’t wait to come back!

Trip was enjoyable! Communication top notch, directions were easy, and the view was as advertised.
Spot is a little windier than we expected, and most of the fallen wood has been picked through for a fire, but that's just being picky.
Go visit!

Been here before absolutely love it quiet, private, secluded it has electricity, but have never needed to. Love the freighters and the sunsets! Northern light are always incredible

I loved it! Almost total seclusion and total privacy. Cooking breakfast while ships sailed by was amazing as well as the view. Nice and level it has an older outhouse for a toilet and some cooking supplies like fire grates and such so plan accordingly

Place is beautiful! Plenty of room for several tents along the water. Bring river shoes it’s very rocky all the way out. The outhouse is pretty nasty and that’s also where a lot of the cooking utensils are stored so I’d bring my own in the future. Also when he says firewood is provided he means you have to go in the woods and cut your own so bring a chainsaw if you don’t want to spend a lot of time cutting it up by hand.

James’ land is simply perfect, I really enjoyed my stay! There is an old abandoned trailer on the property, but set up in front of it and enjoy the peace and quiet! The sunsets, the water, the ships… it was great! Shoutout to neighbors (it’s so heavily wooded, you can’t see or hardly even hear them) Nancy and Greg who helped me with a jump after my car battery died. Thanks guys!

I loved camping on Jame’s land, it was phenomenal and we plan to go back. There are no visible houses just nature but it’s not completely secluded, you are within earshot of neighbors. (This made us feel safe) like others have said the trailer on the site at first is off putting but within an hour of being there it disappears and you don’t even notice it. Also bring water shoes if you plan to enjoy the water.

James’s land was exactly what we were looking for! Beautiful campsite on the lake. He communicated all the important details efficiently and in a timely manner. The dogs absolutely loved being off leash and living their best lives right beside us. We hope to be back another time!

Our trip to Uksa’s Cove was better than we could’ve ever imagined. The location was serene and the coast of the island was stunning. The sunsets and sunrises left us in awe.
The trip on the ferry to the island was quick and efficient and well worth the journey. Be prepared for a full reset surrounded by nature, beautiful views, and the sound of water as you camp near the shoreline.

Enjoyed my visit to James's heavenly campsite and definitely plan to return. Quiet and peaceful place to unwind. Bugs were a little rough at night so be prepared as they did manage to find their way into our camper. Would highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to get away and enjoy the solitude. What an incredible spot! Exactly as advertised with a ton of privacy, lakefront and space. James was easy to communicate with and the fire-pits, outhouse, and clotheslines were very nice to have. Our reactive dog was able to run around without a care in the world. Would definitely recommend to anyone and would love to stay again.

We loved the 4 nights we spent here! It is very quiet and a gorgeous view of Huron and the many large ships passing by! We explored the cove a little by kayak and the island by car. Don’t miss Esther’s!

This site was absolutely gorgeous! We were right on the water. The wind and waves sounded wonderful as we slept. The trees offered some wind break for our camp kitchen and it was nice to be able to charge our phones at the outdoor outlet. Plenty of spots to hang a hammock. When we first drove up and saw the abandoned trailer on the property we weren't sure but honestly, everything gets set up in front of it and doesn't affect the view and we didn't notice it after a bit. The fire pit was near the water and the outhouse out back was rustic but functional. The beach front is rocky and requires shoes to enter the water. We saw a lot of wildlife (no bears) including some snakes on the rocks but they weren't aggressive. We had never been to Drummond and it IS primitive. We would go miles without seeing a soul. Gravel and dirt roads everywhere and such wilderness. ATV paradise! It was WILD untouched land with beautiful views of Huron. Word of warning....bring plenty of bug spray and bring the face nets. At sundown the flies and mosquitoes were like nothing we had ever seen!..We couldn't have asked for a more private and beautiful setting. I doubt we see a hip camp spot like this again!

What a wonderful view of the cove with it’s wildlife and watching the freighters. This is a rustic site with convenient access to electricity. I was glad I brought a 100’ cord to bring power down closer to the waterfront, I could have used another 25’. We enjoyed an evening fire with our propane campfire so we did not partake in using the provided fire pit. The neighbor introduced himself and offered water and wood. We brought our kayaks and intended to swim a lot but beware the lake in this cove is completely rocky. For me it was not easy to traverse into the water.

This spot was perfect. Nice private area with a beautiful view waking up and going to sleep. Defintely recommend this spot to anyone wanting to visit Drummond Island.

When I booked this I was a little worried about navigating the ferry and had caught a glimpse of a trailer on the property in some of the pictures and worried it would feel uncomfortable being in the “front yard”
. But the view swayed me to put aside my concerns and man am I glad I did. The ferry is a piece of cake to deal with and the trailer is honestly not an issue and did not impact our view or enjoyment. The property is very private the view is spectacular. We spent a ton of time enjoying the lake, kayaking, paddle boarding, climbing the off shore rocks and enjoying the sounds of waves crashing the shore.

We absolutely loved our stay at Uksa’s Cove! It’s picturesque and the perfect place to get away for a great camping trip. The property was easy to find and access. Plenty of flat, dry ground to pitch a tent. Our dogs absolutely loved exploring along the shore. Very private and peaceful. We woke up one morning to several bald eagles on the beach right outside our tent! I would absolutely recommend this stay!!

Solitude and quiet - That could sum up what you find at Uksa's Cove, even on a weekend night. And add too this the fantastic view of Lake Huron. This is definitely a "we'll be back" campground!

We loved camping at Uksa's Cove. The site is easy to get to from the ferry and its quiet and secluded. The lakeside fire pit was a great day to relax after exploring the island all day.

Uksa's Cove
Uksa’s Cove is a gift to the good people of earth. Where else can normal people who don’t have 225 a night for a cabin stay in complete privacy - on the shores of a Great Lake? It’s an amazing spot. We saw sandhill cranes, an immature bald eagle, a martin prowling on the shore - drank beer and watched freighters pass. It was AMAZING. Thanks to James for offering this spot at such a reasonable rate.
