Michele was very friendly and helpful. Because I was camping with family living in different places, we ended up changing the specifics of our reservation a few times and she was totally fine with that. We also arrived very late because we left after work and Michele was totally good with that.
The campsites were very spacious, had a nice fire pit and seating. The place was easy to find. There was a bit of Friday night road noise but it didn't go very late. One thing I will say is that it had rained recently and so there were many mosquitos so pack bug spray if it has rained recently.
We were in town for a family reunion taking place at a different location so didn't spend a lot of time at the site here. It served us well and we're grateful to Michele for her hospitality and helpfulness!

When we pulled up and saw how close to the house the campsites were, I have to admit we were slightly skeptical. However, Michele and her family were such wonderful hosts that we felt equally welcome and secluded. The area was MASSIVE and incredibly clean, with a cool little trail into the woods. There was enough tree coverage to stay shaded in some part of camp through most of the day, while still leaving a huge open sky for stargazing at night. We were there over the 4th of July, and the family did their own little display of fireworks that was EVERYTHING you could ask for in a big city display- but super private. They invited us up front to watch with them, but we had such an excellent view from our site that we decided to stay around our campfire and watch. Really close to multiple boat and kayak launches, as well as many local beaches. Groceries, gas, liquor stores, and several restaurants within 5 minute drive.
10 out of 10 - would ABSOLUTELY recommend.

I had a lovely stay. The 3 shady sites are along the wood's edge of this working farm. The tall grasses make for great habitat for birds, rabbits, and fireflies. The sites are dry, breezy and level with a picnic table, glider chair, and fire ring. Water from the spigot was delicious. Nice woods to explore. I didnt get a visit from the cat, but made friends with the 2 sweet dogs. I got a dozen gorgeous eggs from the neighbor.

Simpson Family Farm
We loved our stay at the Simpson Family Farm! Another father and I decided to take our kids (6 total from 1 - 6 years old) for an overnight trip and we couldn't have asked for a better site to camp! Our host Michelle was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed and there was plenty to do (in addition to relaxing). Our kids loved exploring the farm - the trail through the woods, feeding the pigs and chickens, picking fresh vegetables at the "You-Pick" Garden, the tire playground and so much more. And, there were also plenty of parks nearby for enjoying the water and bigger playgrounds.

Michele and her husband were awesome hosts, it took me way longer then expected ( my own fault/construction) to get to the farm and they were super cool about everything. I had some mechanical issues with my truck and they were super helpful in pointing me in the right direction to get me back on the road safely, to me that means so much. The farm was great and the campsite was perfect for me. Plenty of room and the road into the campsite was maintained and I didn’t have to stress about anything. Getting there was easy to navigate and I’d highly recommend checking this farm out. They are lovely people with a beautiful property and I’m so grateful that they shared it with me. Bathroom was spotless, and easy to get to. Just a short walk which really beats the alternative. Family safe for sure. Their dogs were super friendly and the cats awesome. I’m so glad I got to have this experience and it’s and adventure I’ll be happy to have forever.

This place was fantastic. The owners of the property were very nice. The campsite came with a picnic table, a fire pit, and a rocking bench. More than enough room for our 3 tents we had. Plenty of beaches near by to go to, and they had short trails on the property that were nice to walk through. I would 100% recommend and would love to stay here again!!

Very friendly hosts. They went above and beyond to help us set up and find everything we needed.
They checked with us before they did some target practice near our site, to make sure we were ok with it.
The farm is charming, our site was close to the piggies, they were happy to take care of our scrap veggies when needed, just be ware of the smell when the wind changes.it is not terrible but it is there, price to pay for a fun group of pink neighbors.

This was my first stay with Hip Camp and turned out totally positive. I was just sleeping in my Subaru Outback but it was a flat grassy spot with plenty of space if you had a tent to set up also. Water was easily accessible and the porta potty was a bit of a walk up by the house. Make sure you go before it gets dark. Michele and her husband were very positive, energetic, helpful folks who checked on me a couple of times to just make sure everything was going ok since I was by myself and a larger group was next to me. They both were available if I had any questions or concerns. I’d gladly go back to their place again!

Michele was very accommodating from Start to finish. Quick & clear responses during the booking process and throughout our stay. We enjoyed farm fresh eggs from there chickens in the morning and hanging out feeding the pigs our scraps after meals :-)
Most of the sites are just west of a tall tree line providing shade for our tent into the early afternoon which was such a blessing as our few days there were hot!
We host multiple properties on Airbnb but this was our first stay with Hipcamp and it exceeded our expectations, thank you!

Absolutely an amazing experience. Michele was an amazing host and her property is absolutely beautiful. Her house is on a dirt road with very few neighbors and give a very private secluded experience, yet less than a 10 minute drive and you are in the city with every store you could need. Already planning our next vacation to her property!

Michele was a great host. She was very responsive to all our questions both before and during the visit. The farm itself is conveniently located for visiting various beaches on Lake Huron, including Lakeport State Park and Fort Gratiot County Park. Not really a criticism, but campers should be aware that the approach to the campsites is a little muddy/bumpy. I was able to navigate it in a sedan, however. The camping area itself has a few moderate dips (ie, not perfectly level everywhere) but with a little searching it is possible to set up a tent in a reasonable area.

I had a really lovely time with my family at SFF. Chad and Michelle were extraordinarily helpful. Beautiful multi-generational farm with lovely big sky sunsets. They took time out to really help us get thepst out of the visit and the pigs and ducks and chickens were great!

Rustic and charming, this farm provides plenty of space and sets you right in the country! I would not recommend it for people with strong hay/animal allergies (I was sneezing a lot, hopefully didn’t alarm the other campers) though that settled down once I wrapped my face up.
Michele is accommodating and attentive. The farm offers a place to recharge (literally) as they have run power to a public spot so you can plug in for all your battery and tech needs.

Michele was a great host and very kind. Because of a wet spring, the options were limited but still very functional. Our children loved the farm, the fairy garden, the tire swing, and all the space.

Here's the deal: You want to stay here.
I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but the Simpson Family farm is a fantastic place. It's a family run farm, so they know what it means to take care of things.
I was kind of nervous, I've never done this before. They set me up with electricity and wifi. Then they left me alone to relax. They've got an honor-system fresh produce area, and a cat that will keep you company.
If you want a low key relaxed place to stay, this is an awesome get away.
