My group had an amazing time at Lee’s farm. It was such a sweet little sanctuary in the middle of busy detroit! Lee, her family, and the farmers who worked there were friendly and helpful, and we loved spending time with the cuddly farm animals. We will definitely be reaching out to Lee to camp next time we are in Detroit!

When we first pulled up, I thought for sure the directions were wrong. But then we saw the entrance! That’s how secluded it was! It opened up into the most wonderful urban farm! I was finishing up a call in the car, so my husband went out to meet Lee. She gave him a tour of the grounds which he then gave to me! Free range chickens, a micro greens greenhouse, and common area are just some of the highlights! We slept so well! There was going to be a concert Saturday night which we were invited to stay for but we had to get back on the road. We will defiantly be back! There was so much to do in the area. We love going to cities and typing “attractions” into the GPS. It’s amazing what you find!

Lee and Eli were great hosts. I enjoyed a camp fire chat with Eli about the farm and met some friendly campers posted next to my site. It was quiet at night and a beautiful little stay in Detroit!

Really found a moment of tranquility in this beautiful oasis. Lee was a wonderful host and her kiddo became quick friends with my cat I was traveling with. Really loved seeing how a farm works in the middle of Detroit. This was far and away one of my favorite experiences as I traveled across the country.

Camp was fine for one night! No emus and I hoped to see them! The “sites” aren’t that clearly labeled but turns out you can camp anywhere your car fits. The surrounding area was a little scary looking, lots of buildings in different states of ruin. The host or guy who met us was pleasant and welcoming! Nothing bad to say really, was my first time camping so wasn’t sure what to expect.

Great experience camping here! I wish I would have had more time to spend here. Wonderful location as well with it being so close to downtown Detroit. Would definitely recommend!!

Noah was attentive, and the King family was incredibly welcoming. This beautiful farm was the highlight of our multi-state tour! Would highly recommend to anyone passing through Detroit, if even to purchase the delicious produce we had the honor of eating on our drive back home.

Incredible space as an urban farm, it was amazing to go from city to farm instantly. I was happy to explore what Noah has created and its positive impact on the city.
As a person who works directly in another large urban core, some people may worry about the neighborhood surrounding the campsite. I had no issues at the campsite, but its location alone may bother some people.

Noah was a thoughtful, communicative, and kind host. This farm is a magical space with dancing fire flies, emus, and free range chickens. We loved the experience.

Noah and the farm canine ambassador, Henry, were amazing hosts to share their spot with us during vacation. My partner and I did not know what to expect with a lot in Detroit but after two nights under his gigantic maples that rocked in the wind, we left with such a fullness that had us commenting that we were lucky and hope to be able to have such a peaceful experience the next time we travel to Michigan. Seriously, the best sleep I have had in my old tent in years. Soft ground and cool nights. Did I mention the breeze?

First off Noah , thank you for accepting my camping request this was my very first experience with Hipcamp.
Noahs Urban Farm is so legit . I met some guest that were staying in the storage Home and they were super sweet and even invited us to sleep on the couch if we were to cold in our micro camper ....
We were fine . Noah said to park between the maple trees . I was a little confused but I found a nice out of the way spot near the fire . Unfortunately we got back late and it had been raining so we didn’t have a fire but next time for sure .

my fiancée and I were only in town for the day in from Cleveland but now I want to plan a trip to Detroit just to stay at Noah’s urban farm lol
We had some work to do early afternoon and again later in the evening . I was originally only looking for an inexpensive Airbnb near the Fox Theater so that I would have a resting spot between my shedule at fox .
But then I found hipcamp. What a perfect opportunity for me to test out my new microcamper .
I loaded my merchandise Into Fox Theater around 3pm
Got to The urban Farm somewhere around 5pm
Noah had already texted me about my site and parking ect . Very helpful guy . Unfortunately I didn’t meet him in person but that was not a problem at all .he said he was out of town .
The farm is amazing . If you aren’t familiar with Detroit you maybe a little sketched out by the surrounding abandoned buildings however I felt relatively safe .
After setting up camp we called an Uber to fox theater. Cost less then $10 . Fox Theater was a sold out show which is good for business . I watched the show . Collected and settled out my Merchandise . Called an Uber XL . (Had a few T-shirt boxes with me ) cost $17.
Once we got back to camp . All was good and our site was undisturbed . Once we woke up (thirty mins after checkout . Sorry Noah ‘‘twas a long day and night before ) we cleaned up our site . Trash cans readily available . Thank you . We walked around a little bit to take pics . We lovees seeing all the animals , the emus and roosters . The farm is lovely with the cooolest looking roof top patio above the storage containers . The urban farm is very inspiring . Made me really appreciate the whole experience all the thought and care that went into this place . Thank you Noah . Hope to stay again in the future .

We stayed at Noah's place for 1 night in our camper van and loved it. It's a well kept farm in the middle of a partially abandoned section of Detroit. The area surrounding the farm looks kinda rough but we felt totally safe. If you want to visit Detroit definitely consider this spot .

Really impressed by this plot of land. In the center of the city, yet here is this magical slice of midwestern farmland. More private than I expected. Full of life: butterflies, birdlife, trees, wild grasses, rows of fresh vegetables, chickens. This is a special site. We just visited during the day, but I would love to come back and spent a night under the stars here.

This is a great place to stay if you want to visit Detroit. Easy access to the John C Lodge Frwy (Route 10) which goes to the Cultural Center Historic District where the museums are located and to downtown Detroit. We wanted to see more of the area so we drove on the surface roads instead.
The farm is shady, green, peaceful and somewhat isolated from the neighborhood streets. There's a little traffic noise from the freeway. Some streets in the surrounding area have empty lots and boarded up houses but on other streets, the houses are all occupied and well cared for.
The hosts are friendly and busy with the farm work. Most of the produce is already promised to customers who participate in a weekly food box program but we did buy some fresh zucchini and lettuce.
We have a 25' class C motorhome and Noah directed us to a nice parking spot under the trees. We didn't use any of the amenities except for the picnic tables and fresh water. Parking is limited so this is not a good place for large RVs.
