Decent. It was quiet. No one on site. Our spot we reserved was taken. We did get another one very fast. They were very nice and accommodating. Very dusty.

Overall, the sites were well maintained and the bathrooms / showers were clean. However, I arrived to the grounds after watching the sunset to find that there was already another group on the campsite I had booked. I tried calling the helpline multiple times, but never got a response and no one ever called me back. I also spoke with another camper who told me the folks that had their site before them had shared that no one had been around for assistance, and no one answered the phone. That group ended up leaving a sticky note on the door for the host with their confirmation number, to ensure the host knew they were there. The listing says to check in with the host upon arrival. The note was still there when I left the next day, so clearly no one had been by in a couple days. Luckily for me, the grounds were only about half full, so I ended up waiting around for a while and then setting up camp on another site since I couldn’t be on the site I had booked. It was very fortunate no one else showed up for that particular spot. I would have gone somewhere else, but given it was LDW, I knew all the surrounding campgrounds would be full. In writing this several days later, still no one has contacted me or reached out in response to my multiple voicemail messages. The host really needs to be reachable in case something serious were to happen.

The potential for a great campground is there. It’s still being created, and full hook ups were appreciated, as well as being close to Marquette. I booked Site 8. No one was in the office, so I had to self-check in. That was fine until reaching our site, which was occupied. It took two calls to reach the manager to find out what to do. He said their reservation system was messed up and they don’t normally reserve sites, and to pull into any empty one. I explained that I have a small motorhome with no toad, so would be and out during our three- night stay. How could I be sure our site would still be there? His answer was vague. On the last day, we did go to town. Our neighbors thought we y Would be okay if we blocked the site with our picnic table and kept our electric and water hoses in plain site. Nope - our space was occupied when we returned - at least they did not take our hoses. Finding another, gravel, level site was impossible, so we settled on a grassy site and had to wiggle around quite a bit to get level. Several different campers told me similar stories and said issues were common. Apparently anyone can drive in and trap a spot. Not impressed the way it is now

Excellent campground very close to Marquette and also Munising to go see the beautiful Pictured Rocks. Also many other waterfalls all over the upper peninsula. Clean bathrooms and showers were definitely A+++

I have not stayed here in a few years, but it was an OK place to just park for a few nights.. Great location. They do have a laundry facility, and a decent bathhouse. The campground reeked of marijuana almost the whole time. If you don’t mind that you probably won’t have a problem. This was the first time I had stayed there since Michigan legalized recreational marijuana. I don’t know how they could enforce it either, but I will definitely not stay there again because of this.

Chocolay RV Park was perfect for our needs. The sites are huge, easy access of the highway and complete with full hook-ups, fire ring and picnic table. Although we did not use them, they have full laundry services and baths and showers. Even though the park is relatively new and they are working everyday to improve it from what we saw, this is a hidden gem on the UP. We were 30 min from Munising and the National Seashore and 15 min from Marquette where all the big box stores and shopping can be done. Comparatively speaking the price was right. We looked at the 3 A's for here: Accessibility (due to the size of our rig) Availability (timing as to when we would be in the area) and Affordability (priced very competitively). We would recommend and would return if in the area!

Great Camping for the Money!

They're under new ownership but for the money it's a great facility. Not a lot for kiddos to do yet but it is only about 10 minutes from downtown Marquette. Has firewood, laundry, showers on-site. And there's a pair of bald eagles just to the southwest of the sites!

If you're just looking for an adequate place to park, this is it. FHU's we're good. I wasn't greeted or spoken to the whole time I was there. Best feature was its proximity to Marquette. Seems to be a number of campers who also work in the area.

Not great for tent camping.. they do not actually reserve sites and all the tent sites were occupied when I arrived. Called and was told to camp anywhere in the open field, ended up using an unoccupied RV site which had a fire pit but no table. Showers and bathroom were nice.
