Meadow Cottage is a newly renovated 100 year old farmhouse with a hot tub located in beautiful Northern Michigan. Perfectly situated for year round fun including skiing at Crystal Mountain (13 miles), Caberfae (36 miles), snowmobiling (.2 miles), Lake Michigan (7 miles), or golfing at Arcadia (9 miles). Beautifully designed rooms provide space for up to 8 guests. Step outside to our patio to soak in our large spa under the stars or sit around the campfire. Our front living room includes a stunning towering fireplace. Look up and admire the hand-hewn original beams of the vaulted ceiling. Tucked away in this space is our queen sleeping loft. Sure to be a favorite sleeping area for all! The living room sofa also offers a pull out queen bed. Our fully stocked kitchen is perfect for providing meals during your stay. Keurig coffee is provided. Exciting decorative touches are to be found in all areas of this newly designed house. Kids will delight in our rock wall and hanging chair in the birch tree bedroom. The queen bedroom has a fresh vibe complete with its natural wood ceiling and stunning meadow views out the windows. Enjoy the original 100 year old wood floors that have been restored and kept throughout the home. The moody dining room is filled with unique antiques found in the farmhouse. Exit through our patio door to find our fully fenced gorgeous patio completed with a hot tub, solo stove firepit, propane grill, and picnic area. Wood and propane is provided! Have a magical evening under the hanging lights! Please note, the fence opening shown in the photos is now a gate that can close off the entire space. The walk out basement boasts a 100" projection movie screen with bean bags, comfy rugs, a foosball table, and plenty of storage for your ski or summer gear. Full laundry is also available so that your winter items are ready for your next adventure on the slopes! It is our goal that the house be a blend of unique and comfortable, romantic and simple, tastefully decorated and well stocked for all of your needs. The house sits on a 65 acre parcel of Northern Michigan land and it was designed to reflect this stunning property. There may be other guests enjoying the land.

When you enter you will be greeted by a towering high stone fireplace and a view of the loft. The living room couch contains a queen pull out sleeper. The upstairs open loft can be reached by a spiral staircase and offers 2 queen beds. Our brand new modern kitchen makes for a perfect time of convenience and hospitality for your group. The cabin features a cozy living room, dining table with built in bench seating, a full bathroom, and a side bunk room complete with 4 twin beds. From the expansive deck you will enjoy views across the open meadows and woods. Watercolor sunsets paint the sky every evening. Views around the bonfire are encompassed by the stars. You will feel relaxed and tranquil from this hilltop cabin. House Offerings: 2 queen beds (upstairs open loft) 4 twin beds (main level side bunk room) 1 queen sofa bed pull out (main level living room) Full modern kitchen including full size fridge, range, dishwasher, farmhouse sink. Dogs will love our property! Pets are allowed with a $55 pet fee. Strictly no smoking. Please note we have multiple properties on our land. We enjoyed our stay at Bear Woods. Having a fire in the ring, and hot showers at the end of a day of fishing was really nice to have. I would definitely recommend staying if in the area!

My family and I had a great time tent camping on Nellie's land. We appreciated the well-groomed site and beautiful views. The sites were a little close to each other, but the fantastic bathhouse made up for that. We loved the central location for day trips to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City. Our kids really loved the playground. We would camp here again, thanks for hosting us!

From the moment you reach the driveway it is evident that someone(s) put a lot of thought, hard work and pride into making a Bear Woods Resort a great place to stay. I camped in a tent and definitely appreciated the large space, fire pit and picnic table and the easy access path cut out to the restroom/shower. I highly recommend staying here.

Everything went well!! I love to travel and when I tell you I deeply appreciate when the accommodations exceed expectations! The pics and the descriptions do not do this camp ground and resort justice. We stayed in the yurts. Reserved both for 4 days. My site was for myself and my dog. My sister had her 2 boys next door. Reserving was easy, the owner was quick to respond to questions and even had propane stoves ready for us at the covered pavilion. We ended up not using them because we brought a charcoal grill. I can’t say enough about how clean and just how meticulous everything was from the bathroom, to the playground, to the trails, and the yurts them selves were OUTSTANDING. My boyfriend and I are looking at dates to go in the fall. And my girlfriends and I are looking at dates to go next month.

The property is nice to walk on and the cabin was very comfortable compared to what you typically get while camping. The bathhouse is well kept and the camp staff were helpful. However, Make sure you bring something to cook with the BBQ grill advertised was either not there or hard to find. Other than that, a great experience, especially if you are new to camping.

Highly recommend Cabin #7! We stayed here after 3 long nights of tent camping and exploring the Upper Peninsula. The bathhouse was an absolute dream, and the cabin was beautiful. Definitely well worth it, the surrounding area was beautiful. Fun amenities like a playground, pavilion, hammocks, tetherball, corn hole, and volleyball. We enjoyed ourselves so much.

We had an amazing stay at Nellie's Hip Camp with our two kids and two dogs! The property is beautiful with plenty of room to spread out and take in the stunning views. The showers were fantastic—so nice that we skipped using the one in our van and happily walked to the Bin instead. The owners were incredibly friendly and responsive, making our stay even more enjoyable. Our kids loved the playground, which was such a cool feature built with natural materials. The location is ideal—very close to a camp store and a perfect jumping-off point for exploring Iron Fish, the dunes, and more of Northwest Lower Michigan. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be back!

Extra large sites, great location, and it is easy to see the owner takes pride in their business. Although we didn't use the silo bathroom/bath house it is a big focal point of the gorgeous property. Thank you for creating this amazing space!

I loved the A frame cabin. It was so nice to be camping but also get to shower and sleep in a comfy bed. The property is very spacious and we had a chance to get out and walk it several times. Our pup also really loved the dog park! It felt like you were away from the big city. But also we could get to anything we needed in 20 mins or so. Traverse City ~1 hr, dunes, beach, hiking, local produce….it was perfect for our idea of a camping vacation.

I can’t explain accurately how perfect this place was for my vacation. The cabin was clean, cute, and comfortable. The bathhouse was beautiful and clean. The property was very welcoming. We are already making plans to come back with the whole family because of how much we loved it! I almost didn’t want to write a review because this place is an absolute hidden gem that I don’t think will be a secret much longer!

I loved staying at Bear Woods Resort! Our cabin was so cute and a comfortable place to stay. We appreciated the air conditioning unit on hot days. The land was so nice and we loved the dog park for our dog to run around, as well as the hammock swing near our cabin. The bathrooms were nearby and fairly clean.

What a beautiful plot of land and how amazing that we got to experience this area. Every detail was thought of and amplified our camping experience. The moon, fire flies, and stars made the open space the nature getaway we were looking for. The facilities felt new and clean and new renovations to come. We are excited to come back in the future to see what this up and coming place has to offer. It will be a popular place for sure! Make sure to give the hammocks a try ;)

We enjoyed our stay over the 4th of July weekend. Very clean and accommodating, nice roomy rv lots with hook ups. The only thing that stood out was some kind of shelving in the showers to put your nesseciates and not have to put them on the floor while you were showering. Would highly recommend and we will be returning.

We loved the cabin. It was clean and had enough space for our whole family. The hot tub and patio area are beautiful and relaxing. The property is very large and has beautiful trails. We could see Bear Lake in the distance, and it was a quick drive to the water. We absolutely want to return next year.

I’ve camped a lot and been to quite a few HipCamp places and this one by far is top on my list!! Wow! They truly live up to the ‘resort’ in the title with wonderful amenities, beautiful facilities, and such peaceful land. This will be a location we will 100% return to and I cannot wait to see the continued updates as they were still building and creating fun spaces on the land.

Glamping tent was great! Comfy bed, nice to have water cooler, microwave and chairs on front porch. Maybe bring a lantern and a fan if its hot. Shower house was a great addition, however cold water, which was OK cause it was 90 degrees out. They are still working on it though, so maybe they are planning to add water heater. Enjoyed walking in the woods on the trails. Sat on porch at Portage Point resort and ate pizza for dinner, ate ice cream by Portage lake at a park. Enjoyed breakfast by the lake at Lakeside Cafe. Beautiful grounds. Cabins looked cute as well. Would definitely come again!

This is a really great spot to camp, central to a lot of amenities and the owners are great people! Definitely planning to come back sometime.

Adorable A frame cabin with all the glamping comforts (AC, hot/cold water dispenser, mini fridge/freezer, microwave, keurig, wifi, TV) and bathhouse with flush toilets and showers a short walk away. Beautiful property and host was very responsive.
